Also available on Supercheap Auto eBay. Seems to be free delivery for me, but might be because of eBay Plus.

  • I have the Tempest twin pack from waxit.com.au and can't imagine any other product on the market to be better.

A single pass leaves the car totally dry - this is on Opticoat Pro + surface.

    • +2

I have both the Tempest twin pack and the Big Green Sucker from Bowden's and can say they both perform about the same.

They even look and feel the same, but with different colours.

    • Both the new waxit Supercell and CarPro Dehydrate towels supersede the tempest

  • Anyone tried the Rag Company Double Twistress?

It's around $25 each + shipping from online Aussie selling

  • These drying towels are great. Wouldn't be worth $40, but at $24.99 it's worth it.

Make sure you wash and dry these before the first use. Otherwise you'll end up with lint all over your car :)

This towel is amazing. My last road trip has a unplanned 1-hr kayak session and I was sitting at the back of the kayak. Ends up with soaking wet bottom.
Then I realised I have one of these in my car unopened so placed it on the driver's seat trying to not mess up anything. It dried up my pants after a 30mins drive.

  • Is there really a difference between these and a good quality large microfibre cloth for drying a car after washing?

    • +5

These are the bees knees. Not worth full price, but for $25 I'd pick one up if you like your car looking smicko.

I have one- wash it before use. Does my whole car comfortably.

      • Are these similar to the chamois ? I already have 2 and they do a good job.
Not sure if I should buy this.

        • +1

Chamois are the old way of drying your car. They are much more prone to leaving scratches in your paint compared to a nice microfiber towel like this one. Really depends how fussy you are with keeping the car perfect.

          • @viperacr: Thanks for the feedback.
TBH, never had issues of scratches in my car in the past.Chamois work perfect if they are kept moist and rinsed/soaked before using. Using them dry might leave scratches.

        • They're a supersoaker towel. A replacement for chamois. I find they can take the car from wet to dry better than chamois, meaning no water marks. It isn't a needed thing, I didn't have chamois so got one.

$40 rrp for a small towel, incredible.

  • These are pretty average. There are much better towels on the market for the same price as this on sale or cheaper. Here are 2 for example:

    https://www.waxit.com.au/collections/drying-towels-chamois/p…

    • It is bigger in size compared to the OP towel however the cloth density is lower ( 500gsm vs 1200 gsm).
Secondly Bowden is Aussie made. If quality is comparable, try to support local.

      • -1

GSM is not everything, the type of fibre plays a more important role. Waxit’s original tempest was 1200gsm like the Bowden’s, but their new 500gsm twisted loop towel is far superior. Twisted loop is the future, I’m sure Bowden’s will catch on down the track

    • When do they go on special? I'd give them a go but works out more if you need to pay for shipping

      • You can change the sizes. The Small/Jnr sizing is cheaper and I find easier to work with

    • +1

I have some of these which I use for wheels. They are nothing like a high GSM drying towel or twisted loop towel

      • same here, bought 3 beforehand and thought they were good. However after moving on to something else the performance of these look quite bad.

    • lol kmart…but if they work, they work!

  • +1

My life changed when I bought one of these.Just get one….and look after it by washing it separately and drying and storing it properly. So much more than a microfibre cloth.

    • Coles Eucalyptus Wool & Delicates Wash as a detergent and white vinegar in the rinse is a great combo for cheap

  • The boss gloss is down to $13.99 aswell. Perfect combo IMO

    • I love the video they have…

“Spray as much of the detailer onto the area, the more the better” = you’ll finish the bottle faster and can go buy another one = more money for us.
