  • Select the 12 month plan (minimum cost is $432)
  • Get 3 months of Amazon Prime when you sign up to this plan.

      • I will try Vodafone again, need to port out to get the best Telstra deals anyways. Let's see if they have improved.

  • Cheers just upgraded from my old $45 a plan which only gave 45gb of data to the new plan with 100gb and also got another phone for only $1 a month.

  • Very interested, but concerned about coverage of vodafone. While it shows 4G in my area the feedback is not really good to be confident. Telstra has been really good but amaysim so far has not disappointed me.

    • +1

Amaysim uses the Optus network, I had 200GB when I was on them, can't use it most of the time when I was out and about. Only decent speeds were at home, which is useless as I have unlimited NBN100.

  • nice one, i just signed up.

Does anyone know when/how Amazon Prime can be added to my amazon account ? thanks

  • Anybody know when this expires?

  • are the phones locked to Vodafone?

    • +2

I don't think so, they don't usually lock postpaid phones anymore. They only do it for the cheap prepaid ones, they sell those at cost so need to lock them to their network to get some profits. They are usually happy to unlock it for you after you have recharged a certain amount with them.

  • -2

Would not use Vodascum in a pink fit, but hopefully such a deal wakes Telstra up.

    • Why would it wake Telstra up? Vodafone service is bottom of the barrel, I would never use Vodafone. I've used all 3 networks. Telstra has the best coverage, the other 2 doesn't come close.
Telstra will never match Vodafone on price, that's like going to a BMW dealership and saying, look at the price of that Yaris, wake up!

      • Terrible analogy. If you need coverage outside of metro, Telstra is the go 100%. They haven't been getting gazillions in government subsidies over the past 20 years for nothing. If not, good odds many people would be wasting money sticking with Telstra.

        • I have found on trains and buildings Vodafone and Optus reception is rubbish. It appears their coverage doesn't penetrate as much as Telstra.

On the train and inside buildings, data slows to a crawl and call drop outs galore.

          • @techlead: Location, location, location. In a spectrum congested area or where device not behaving/using bands available that is most common. There was congestion at my old place on 850mhz due to all the silly high rise apartments, drove me nuts as i step outside boom its lightening fast on 2100mhz. I rarely have any issue on vodafone past few years been really good for us, my family using Kogan on deals and all happy. Should get even better now Vodafone have access to the spectrum TPG bought. I'm just thankful i dont have your reception problems. :)

  • Doesn't look like this phone has NFC for Google Pay, but in every other spec it is def better than the Samsung Galaxy A11.

  • +3

Deal also comes with Lenovo Smart Clock

    • Where did you see this deal ?

      • +1

was in my order confirmation…. believe it is bundled in with the moto g8 as a promo ending yesterday

        • It’s not mentioned in my order but chat guy said it was. Can u plz share screenshot of where it’s mentioned?

    • +1

Apparently so… hope the order get fulfilled with it.

  • Thanks OP I managed to snag this deal after partial credit approval. Didn’t seem to work using the auto system but a quick phone call sorted it all out. Will sell off the device to offset the cost of the plan. 50GB is generous enough and Vodafone isn’t a huge issue of coverage in my area. Great find!

    • Did you complete the auto system? I wonder if it takes time to register.

      • I did complete it and it wasn't particularly long, and I got an email back within 15mins saying I was only approved for the SIM only component of the plan, but not for the device. I called them on 1300 650 410 between their operating hours today and someone on the phone pretty much re-did the entire process for me and got it working so that might just be the way to go if you can't get it done online.

  • I noticed phone is also $1 per month on $35 month to month plan? Anyone experienced the same?

    • Nah. No one noticed

Jk, plan is month to month but for phone you need 12 months commitment.

  • +1

Pretty sure my order went through - showing now as "Order received. We're waiting for more stock"

  • Is it worth for extra $12 to not go to 24-month commitment & lock the $5 discount on the $40 plan?
After 12 months you have to change the plan or it goes back to $40 standard & not sure about the extra GB.

    • The $5 discount applies for 99 months from what I saw

  • 720 x 1560 resolution

  • I don't know how I feel about the phone. I bought my mum a pixel 2 for her birthday 3 years ago.
Now I just changed this plan for her. $36 per month, 50GB data(shareable) and a new phone for her to use. I think it is pretty sweet deal.
Not sure how great the spec is or awesome is the audio quality, camera etc etc. But for my mum that's about 60 years old. I don't think she will be asking much. I am waiting for myself to make a decision on what phone I want.

  • Thanks OP, got the phone with the 100 GB plan.
Gonna sell it for hopefully $220-250, will replace my $28/month 100 GB circles.life sim card.
    $46-($220/12 months) = $27.66 / month but 10 mbit unlimited afterwards.

Still showing awaiting stock. Hope they won’t cancel order

  • As a bonus for customers, Motorola have advised that any new signups will score a bonus Lenovo Smart Clock with Google Assistant, valued at $129 when you sign up on a selected plan.

If you’ve been looking at the Moto G8 and wanting it on a plan, then head over to the Vodafone website and chat to their online team.

Dont forget you get Lenovo smart clock

    • chat says the offer expired on 31st oct

  • I spoke to them yesterday and they confirmed they will provide me the device

    • You talking about clock? I asked and they said it is expired offer and on top of that the clock is out of stock.

I would have signed up if clock was still on offer

      • I spoke to chat on Sunday (1 November) they said that the clock offer was being extended. When did you ask? Maybe it extended for the one day lol.

        • And I spoke to them yesterday in fact I signed the contract

          • @rahoolz: Crap service then.
I sopke to them yesterday and the chat guy refused plainly.

May bw i will give them a call and ask ..one more try.

    • Ok, bit the bullet. Ordered g8 without clock.

  • +1

Got my phone and clock! moving from a dated $45 Voda plan …this was a great upgrade.
G8 is also better than my current handset A20.

    • Congrats. I’m jelly rite now. Voda rejected my business twice, online and by phone. Bummer.

Never know that $40 per month is such a huge money for Voda, so they think we can’t afford it:(

  • +1

    Looks like it's gone now

    • Yep look like out of stock now. This was an awesome deal.

      • I ordered Monday, still they didn’t ship item

        • Yep I ordered Sunday, stuck on the "awaiting stock".

          • @exc3113nce: If out of stock they will send another model phone?

            • +1

@georgev: Nah most likely they had stock on backorder, and now that stock is gone it is out of stock and cannot be ordered from the website.

          • @exc3113nce: Same here. Ordered on Tuesday night.

  • Got Delivery,
Came with a Lenovo Smart Clock as well.
Not sure if I have to pay for it.

    • When did u order?

      • On the day of the post.
I called the Vodafone Support and got it done.

        • Ok I ordered this Monday only

  • Just got an update on my order - estimated delivery date of 23 November.

    • Me too but mine says 18th instead

      • Email said 20th

        Website said 18th

        • 18th is shipment date and 20th is estimated delivery

    • We're waiting for more stock.
      Expected shipping date
      18/11/20 00:00

  • Are they going to ship with Lenovo smart clock too?

  • G8 has been removed form vodafone website. Was a good deal

  • +1

Anyone got your new bill? It shows $1 or $24 MPP?

    • Don't have it yet, but I am expecting billing of $24 with $23 credit each month

    • +2

Just received my bill, i m paying 24$ !!!! I have to call them tomorrow…

      • hmmm not good. made me little worried.
They might come back and say $1 was for 36 months and 12 months was a mistake on website or something like that.

      • Did u received the phone?

        • nope. still waiting.
I was worried about the situation cbastien is in. I checked my order receipt and it mentions monthly charges to be 41 per month (no mention of $5 discount).

I checked status online and it is still saying shipping on 18/11/2020 but they still awaiting for stock. it is bloody 17th now.

          • +1

@Ash SA: So i called them on monday and they told me they will update the g8 cost to 1$/month. But i still see 24$ when i look at my bill. Anyone knows how long it takes for the bill to reflect what they say over the phone ?

I can see the 5$ discount on my bill.

          • @Ash SA: Ok for me also shipping date 18/11. My bill will generate 24/11. What’s that $5 discount?

            • @georgev: $5 discount is the current scheme they offer on online orders. So apparently your monthly bill is reduced by 5 for next 12 months.

              • +1

@Ash SA: Thanks I missed it as I order via phone

          • @Ash SA: The status has been changed to "Ready to go" - Your order is being prepared for delivery.

      • Same here. Did they fix it?

        • Yes but i had to call 4 times and it s a manual fix. As they refund me 23aud per month but i can t see it under "hot offers" in my membership summary.

    • My plan summary says this under "hot offers"

      Hot offers

$23 bonus credit each month. T&C apply.

      Expires on :

      00:00am AEST 01/11/21

This offer is available while you remain on this plan

$10 bonus credit each month. T&C apply.

This offer is available while you remain on this pla

      • $10 !!!!! holy smokes. that is cool.

ahh wait a sec. i got over excited i guess lol. so you are on 45-55 super plan which has 10 discount? makes sense.
        yeah pretty much this.

        • +1

Yeah, i am on the 55 plan discounted to 45.

  • Still same no update
    We're waiting for more stock.
    Expected shipping date
    18/11/20 00:00

    • Yep same here, so I'm guessing we'll get an update today with what's going on.

  • +1

Just got an update: Your order is being prepared for delivery.

  • I spoke with Vodafone apparently the rep spoke with the warehouse and no confirmation on expected stock/delivery. I was on the phone for over an hour and they only have me the option to replace the phone with the Samsung a11

    • Wht ur status when track and trace ?

  • Just received my order, had to talk to live chat to get it all sorted and port accross. Just logged a ticket with cashrewards as well. Note at the time we placed the order cashback was $35 for 12 Month Plan with Handset (its now changed to 65%) so make sure you get the $35 advertised when we placed the order.

  • Just got mine,
Bit of a long wait. Ended up buying an iPhone in the meantime. Anyone know if these phones are unlocked? Might give it to a family member.

    • With Lenovo Smart Clock?

      • no clock, clearly missed this clock discussion after i pulled the trigger on it haha.

  • Just checked the bill and I am being charged $24 a month for the phone itself?

    • I got the same problem today
Chat online with them and they even say there is no discount on my account
I say i have email with the proof of contract shows 1$/month for 12 months

And after that they ask me send that email to them

After they got my email they say they will fix it with 2-3 days

Hope they do it as they said

      • Where do you contact them online?
        Thanks

        • No way, they are not Optus or Telstra.

          • +1

@andylch: They do have an online chat. You need to go to the support page on the website and it should popup on the bottom right. Sometimes just being on the website will prompt the live chat. I've used it plenty of times.

            • @exc3113nce: Their customer service hotline told me phone call is the only way to reach them. Unless he was lying…

              • @andylch: I chat with Vodafone many times mate. Don't say that people lying when you don't know about that

        • Online chat mate
When you see the pop up on their website
Click and it will go to online chat

  • Hi everyone need help please.

I signed up for this deal last month but instead of putting me on 12 month plan, Vodafone put me on 36 month. I was not aware of this thing until recently I checked my online account. I called customer service but they refused that they had this deal of $1/ month for 12 month. Rep said its only when you subscribe for 36months plan. Does anyone have any screenshots of the deal? Or anyone has faced the same situation.

    Thanks

    • If you have email when you sign contract and it shows 12 months

Send that to them so they can't deny

They also say to me that there was not a deal like that from beginning but after I send them the email ,they admit they have that deal

    • I find that Vodafone does not have any consistency in their customer service.

I called about only receiving 1month of amazon prime, and the rep was really apologetic. Offered me 12months instead. Happy as.

Went to register and found it was only 3months, called again and got a rep who says there was no such option for 12months. Grrr
