Apple Store iPhone $550 Credit Offer with Optus $65/Month 24-Month Sim-Only Plan (New/Recontract Customers) + Free Optus Sport

101

I know this may not be the best deal out there but I still find it OK for those planning to stay/start with Optus and really want Optus Sports altogether. (because I think the previous Telstra offer has much better value - Bonus $500 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card with Telstra 12m Contract, or for new signups, $700 credit from HN is a better deal too.)

Minus off Optus Sports ($14.99/month) you're only paying $50 for the sim-only plan, and you get $550 off the new iPhone. Read the full summary info

There is also another $800 credit offer if you go for the $85/month plan. Same thing, for new sign up and recontract customers.

To sign up the deal, you must go to Apple store, and you must make online booking in advance. (Eg: click the link on top of the product page to reserve your phone)

You will also receive FREE 1 year subscription of Apple Music + a standard 3-month Apple Arcade (previously free 1 month trial).

Sorry if I missed out anything. Enjoy!

Unless you are desperate for a new phone or plan, I’d wait a few weeks for the Cyber Monday sales.

I wouldn't have thought Iphones get discounts in these sales

      • Hopefully phone plans does get discounted then

Never heard of Apple doing iPhone sales, especially new phones. Well, this offer ends 13 January 2021 anyway.

  • Where does it mention 1 year free Apple Music?

Is that a Optus promo or apple promo for buying a new phone

    • +1

Apple promo. Shows up after activation.

      • Spewing I got the arcade offer but not apple music

        • Sorry - thought you said apple tv. No apple music woulda been maybe offer via optus.

New Apple devices get 1 year apple tv (imo is worthless compared to prime video)

  • whats the cancellation fee for the plan? if I just want to do it for the apple store credit?

    • +1

      $780 as per the CIS.

just wondering if the student discount can be applied on this plan

    • Interested to know that too.

    • Gave them the student discount code which they send to your .edu email, and the chat agent applied it to my account right away.

Same plan ID, just with the Harvey Norman discount.

This was $700 last year with free beats headphones, I signed up twice, sold the headphones for $300, so $850 off both contracts

  • Sounds like the usual Harvey Norman deal in disguise

  • Can Apple Store staff port mobile number into Optus?

    • Yes

  • +1

Yes, HN deal is definitely better as you get $700 GC to use of anything you want to purchase:

    • My wife's Optus 24 month contact finished today. I wonder if she would qualify? Or would she have to port out to a Telstra sim before trying to get this deal?

      • +1

Port out to any non-optus network and then port back in, should be fine.

Thanks op. Already on the same plan so I can cancel my iPhone preorder and get it from apple for 550 off. Win win

Isn't it better for you to subscribe HN deal and get $700 GC….!

      • +2

HN deal is for new services. I don’t think it includes recontract. I’ll call and check with them tomorrow thanks for letting me know.

    • +1

      New services only.

      • -3

So? You can port out then back in.

        • +1

Right. Port out of an existing contract without paying an exit fee

  • +1

You can't so it is $50 as Optus Sport is $15 per month and then compare it to the $49 Optus plan which also includes Optus Sport. Based on what you are saying it is really $34 a month.

You end up positive $190 after two years based on getting $550 off the iPhone but that's assuming Optus dont release any better/cheaper plans which they do from time to time.

    • +1

Yeap you're right. I should compare it with the $65 instead. Thanks

  • +1

how do you get them to remove the Optus Sport pack so it's $50 per month? Do you just ask them in person when signing up?

    • +1

you can't as it is included at no additional costs to all plans

  • 24 months is too long. Tech world move fast.

  • So I can cancel my current deal with Optus, port over to Telstra for a few days, then I’m classed as new by Optus?

  • The Harvey Norman deal can it be combined with an iPhone 12 handset from Optus in the plan?
