yes yes I know Zen 3 releases tonight but this is still the price of the new Ryzen 5 . Not as cheap as the previous eBay plus deal but haven't seen it sub $500 in a while.

I paid less a year ago

Lucky I paid $426 on July/2020 via Amazon UK.

The normal price should be 400-450 after zen 3 is on sale

I don't see that happening, at least not for a while. The 5000 series chips will be in demand being the bleeding edge and substantially more performant than the 3000 series.

So 5000 chips will be more expensive, not necessarily bringing down the price of the previous release.

Then there's the question of manufactured numbers, will AMD continue to pump out 3700Xs at the same rate as before?

Yeah I'll be looking to move mine on for $300-$350

    Not a bargain..

Probably best to hold off for the next gen release shortly.

Ryzen CPUs seem to drop significantly in price on release of the a series due to decent generational improvement and compatibility with existing motherboards.

      tonight at 1am :)

Probably won't be able to buy one then, but certainly the 3xxx series won't be as desirable at that point.

Paid $415 last month from 20% off eBayPlus sales

    • Was that the deal during the 1 hour sale? I missed it because of daylight savings :(

      • yes, during 1 hour sale and luckily uncle Jack was slow to show up.

Given the IPC increase of the 5000’s even the 5600X would challenge this for value maybe

    • Today is November 5th, where are the Ryzen 5000 series?

      • Resting, ahead of tonight.

        It’s still yesterday in Canada

  • Waiting on a $400-$450 deal. Not that cheap over $450

  • +1

    Yeah nah.

  • I remember around Aug/Sept 20 it was $44x from Amazon US, so after Zen 3 tomorrow I would expect sub $400 in the coming months.

    • I have the 5600X coming tomorrow via distributor and it costs around this price Inc gst so it'll technically hit $500 at retail or just shy…so the 3700x might take a little while to get to under 400..

  • depends on exchange rates alot too. a couple % either way makes a difference

    • Doesn't include shipping

  • The 5600X will cost more on release (probably just shy of $500), I have one coming tomorrow. If anyone has any questions PM me :)

The 5600x is going to be $469. There is no 5700x equivalent yet. The 5800x is $699 with no cooler. The prism cooler(i have 1) is far better than the noisy spire(i have 2 and am likely to replace them). The 3700x has 2 more cores and, given that more and more games are starting to utilise more cores and threads, the 3700x will be more future proof than the 5600x. No more 3xxx series chips are being made to ramp up the 5xxx series. There may be no guarantee that you will get a 5xxxx chip. I wouldn’t even be surprised that you may not see these prices again - depending on 5xxxx stock.

I have not +’d the deal as I don’t believe in buying major computer components from overseas. If it was this price @ MSY or Umart I would have no hesitation recommending it to a friend. I have one from CA for $415 which I bought to hedge my bets in case they did announce a 5700x soon and at a reasonable price.

    • Well, you convinced me not to stay up late tonight, I'll be picking up a 3700X.

      Cheers
