GMCFREEGIFT

Asian Pantry Melbourne is running a promotion on Irvin's salted egg snack.

The 105g pack is $15, 230g pack (original flavour) is $29 (https://asianpantry.com.au/collections/specials/products/irv…)

I can't find any local grocery stores that sells Irvin's Hot Boom - except for ebay and other small online retailers. They have an official branch in Sydney but the shipping to Melbourne is quite expensive.

Give it a go, you don't need to bring it from Singapore or Malaysia anymore. Also 5% off if you use promocode GMCFREEGIFT for minimum $30 purchase.

  • Ouch!
Shipping costs $12.65 to ACT for a bag of 2.

Ouchy.. that's why interstate buyers normally get heaps of groceries to make the shipping worthwhile!

  • $10.50 shipping to Melbourne, no deal for me :(

You can get a few more packs to share and get free shipping over $99 :P

  • Salted Egg, Fish Skin -> Hot Boom. Sounds about right.

Just an FYI you can buy from Irvins directly and get them to shipped to Australia if you don't mind splitting with friends as best value in bulk (or eat it all yourself, no judgement here). 10 bags of 230g OG Fish skins is 190SGD/ ~$200AUD delivered which comes out to $20/bag. Not a sale price, I ordered this a couple years back and split with a friend.

Cost break down for above cost -
    16SGD/230g Bag x 10
30SGD for shipping as order > 140SGD, shipping is higher if you combine with lower cost items
Must be bought in bags of 10 large, thus the bulk requirement
Can be done with 20 small bags or 12 bags of anything, shipping costs will vary based on cart amount

Currently, due to COVID, they are unable to ship to NSW

    Happy munching

    • But if you're craving for some now, you have an option rather than waiting for international shipping :)

        It's express delivery so ~7 - 12 days + a potential saving of $90 over 10 bags

  • Still don't know why these are so expensive.

It's cheaper than crack and just as addictive.

      • There are cheaper versions of this in Costco I think.

        • PRC cheap version also available at various Asian shops. But I wouldn't try it myself.

        • +2

yeah but they dont' taste anywhere as good

  • I wonder how many ducks got slapped in the arse to produce eggs for the sake of making these snacks?!

    • That's a legit question !

  • THE MOST OVER-RATED and OVERPRICED snack…

    • ALSO THE MOST ADDICTIVE snack…

    • PS I like your nickname. Makes me want to go for dimsum tomorrow.
