Just a warning that these TVs suffer from a blurry 4k@120 HDMI 2.1 output.

They’re working on the solution at the moment - https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/televisions-project…

It's only when using 3000 series cards it seems. People using Xbox Series X don't report the same. So it's in the PC mode that it seems to be an issue. But it is definitely the second best after the CX.

When that deal was on, they'd dropped the price of the 65" to $1995 everywhere (which we all thought was new RRP).

Then they put it back up :(

  • +2

I got the 75 inch brand new for 2700 delivered from TGG when the price dropped to 3k. Better off maybe waiting for Black Friday sales and see if they go back on sale.

    • u talking about the 9000h or 9500h model?

      • 9000h

  • +4

    Nah, dude.
$1595 for undamaged boxes (giggity giggity) last month from heaps of retailers.

Recommend everyone wait for Black Friday.

  • whats the best 55 inch tv for ps5? LG or this sony?

    • +1

CX LG. Has all TV the features for next gen consoles

      • +1

LG CX's 40Gb bandwidth limitation cripples the consoles. It only allows 10bit colour while at least XSX is capable of 12bit colour. PS5 is difficult to tell but I'm sure it too is capable of it given the x9000h is capable of 12bit colour. You need 48Gb for that.

      • shouldnt you compare the LG nanocell ones to these, the CX is oled and should be compared to the sony oled ones as well

        • Well the nanocell are IPS and not VA like the Sony anyways sooo still can't be compared

It wasn't about comparing it was about which was the best

  • +2

Was cheaper when JB had the 11% off…

  • +1

Better wait until Black Friday, 12 Day to Xmas or Boxing Day Sale.

  • I am itching for the 85" to go sub 3.3k

Fingers crossed in the coming weeks..

    • +1

Best it has been is $3.8k

      • One can only hope though right?

  • Is the X9500H worth the extra money? I won't be gaming on it

    • +1

Jury is out on that one but the peak brightness and image processing is better in the 9500h. Saw the two side by side at JB , 9500h looked much smoother compared to 9000h

    • I didn’t think so, got the 65” 9000 for $1945 delivered at GG few months ago.

    • The extra money is about $700 at RRP.
To me the benefits side by side are better viewing angles and less reflections, but then no HDMI 2.1

      • Put the lounge in front and close the blinds lol save $700

        • Wish that was a solution but not in the room in planning it for.

        • I just bought the 75” x9500h for $100 less than this Ebay deal. I think the demand for the 9000h is causing prices to hold up for this model, while the 9500h is seeing bigger price declines.

  • Are people finding faults and then returning them to Ebay?

Is that what damaged box means? Second, third hand?

    • +1

Remember people here suggesting their fine, it's just a way they go about wording something so they can discount POSSIBLY

      • They seem to have lotsa damaged boxes, cropping up every so often?

        • Sony need to stop hiring staff that suffer from butter fingers.

          • +2

@xoom: Box damaged is a way for Sony to sell their products cheaper than retailers. I doubt any will have damaged boxes. I got my X9500G (Damaged Box) without a scratch on it.

            • -1

@mofo789: Why wont Sony just reimburse retailers for cutting prices? Thats a way to keep their retailers happy, and also customers (a la Prime Days)

Thats a better PR than saying they are selling rejects from the reject shop?

              • @[Deactivated]: Cos that costs money and this way doesn’t?

                • @ajole: Undercutting your retailers aint a good idea either?

  • +3

The 55” was going for $1344 after cashback and the $200 gift card.

Hopefully they do a similar deal for Black Friday.

    • When is black friday? Fridat the 13th was yesterday :P

  • Yeah hopefully some good deals Black Friday but from experience they only have selected models on sale for Black Friday!!!

  • I got one of these at HN the week after that recent $1595 deal ended - they gave me the deal price.

It replaced a FHD Samsung. The Sony has much better in-built speakers and is much faster on the apps - mind you the Samsung was 5 years old.

The only thing that is really bugging me about the Sony is that you can’t have headphones plugged in and the internal speakers operating at the same time. You could with the Samsung. I run a little FM transmitter for remote speakers/headphones and so need both operating simultaneously.
