Nah. With enough force these things are toast. It’s more for the person on the door chain side.
Yeah it is meant to kind of warn you if someone is trying to get in I don't expect this to stop anybody who really wants to get in forcefully or otherwise.
For me it's just creepy sometimes and interrupting when my housemates come in while I'm asleep or unannounced.
