  • Amazing price! Thanks OP!!

Just out of curiosity, I got a DeathAdder elite last year. What am I missing out on Vs. this newer model?

    • +5

First, optical sensor is 20,000dpi vs 16,000.
The Razer DeathAdder V2 is a better mouse than the Razer DeathAdder Elite. It's lighter, has a much less stiff and rigid cable, a better sensor, and on-board memory so you can save your customization settings to the mouse and keep them if you switch PCs.

Thanks for the swift reply. As a filthy casual most of those things are neither here nor there, but the Elite having no memory so you have to have the Razor app running all the time is the dumbest thing.

        • +1

Yeah, having to install synapse to use it for gaming is too much effort

      • The highest dpi you’ll use is 800. LOL

        • +1

This is a mouse, not a scanner. LOL

    • They've also improved the side grips from glued on rubber patches in previous models, to having a rubber/textured coating on the entire side panel (not sure how it works). My DeathAdder Elite 2016 had an issue where the glue started wearing off( after 1-1.5 years of use) making the rubber patches fall off. I don't see the rubberized coating in the V2 coming off at all so I would say that is a major improvement. I've had my V2 for half a year now and I'm incredibly happy with it(even though I bought it at full price :().

  • Thanks!! I can actually afford this!

  • Amazing mouse.

  • Grabbed a viper recently and love it, this looks very similar , maybe a big bigger and heavier. https://www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/compare/razer-deathadder-…

Wireless basilisk hyper speed for $74 also for prime members is a great deal

  • Paid nearly double for this earlier in the year. Great mouse and fantastic price.

  • Been using a DeathAdder Elite since 2016, still works fine. But happy to upgrade at this price.

    • +1

Had my elite for a while too but think it's gonna be fine for some time still!

    Great price
the wired basilisk V2 is also marked down to $64.35

    • Unless you need the extra buttons, I had the V1 I found the shape awkward.

  • I've been using a Rival 100 for the last 5 years that's on it's last legs. I was initially considering upgrading to a wireless mouse, but for this price it's too good to pass up. I had a DeathAdder back in 2009 that I really liked using before it succumbed to the double-clicking fault. Hoping it's as good as I remember it!

  • These ever available for left handers?

    • your link ships from AU.

Other than that, its the same product

  • wow, I was holding out for the wireless version dropping, this is too good to turn down, grabbed 2, thanks OP!

    • I also grabbed two. I needed zero mouseye. That with the logitech g29 has made those handful of goon glasses i had tonight quite the expensive drop.

  • How's the mouse wheel? Does it have smooth scrolling like MX Master?

  • Do people use this strictly for gaming, or even work?

I have an old wireless for my laptop, but I'm slowly buying bits and pieces for my studio.

I feel like ID hate the cord :/ is that Wireless basilisk hyper speed better or worse?

    • This mouse is super comfortable. I bought one for my dad and he uses it daily in the office. This updated deathadder has a nice soft cord that isnt as stiff as the previous gen

  • I wonder if this is a worthy upgrade for the Logitech G400s?

  • +5

Careful. These have a lot of fakes from China. I suggest weigh it after you get it. Should be around 82g without the cable. So if you get a 60 something or 90 something, most likely fake

    • +1

Can we take the cable off ? if not, how do we weigh without the cable ?

      • +1

Put the cable on the table, it'll be close. Or you can raise the cable above the mouse and there will be negligible weight

    • Do they work with Logitech software though..

      • +2

Bruh this isnt a logitech mouse

    • My two weigh 82 / 83g each pending where the cable lays out or held in my hand. legit models..

  • Got the Viper on a recent deal and only used it for 154 minutes before I gave up on it.

I have more of a palm grip and large hands and it does not seem to feel comfortable in my hand.

Been busy but hoping to give it another try for a bit longer to see if I can adjust, would this be better since it is "ergonomic"?

    • +1

This is longer so better for larger hands. Many youtubers agree

      • Thanks, I may have to take the Viper back to JB and order this or the Model D if you have any opinion on that?

Also clearly I meant 15 minutes opps!

        • +1

Both high ratings in the community. I don't have the model d to compare sorry, both look to be good. DeathAdder is just over 10g more on paper, so it depends of you feel the viper is too light

    • This would definitely be better than the Viper. The Viper is not designed to be a palm grip mouse due to it's smaller size. The DeathAdder is meant to be palm gripped and is for large hands. I have a large hand size and I find the DeathAdder to be very comfortable. It is my favourite mouse ever since I discovered it years ago just for it's comfort.

      https://www2.razer.com/gaming-mice-find-the-right-fit

      • Do you think this will suit me or should I look at something bigger? Had length is 22cm and width 12.5-13cm (depending on if I relax my hand or keep fingers tight together).

I have the cooler master mm520 and it's a nice mouse but find I have to play a hybrid of palm/claw as fingers too long. Also find pinky finger dragging on mat and mouse keeps settling on a slight angle which then gets my wrist sore…

It is 118mm long and a little narrower so not sure if the extra 9mm will make a huge difference or not… The slightly higher profile may also help I think…

        • I think the extra height of the DeathAdder would help a little bit but your hand size is very large, so the width might be a bit too narrow for you. I doubt you would be able to palm grip the DeathAdder. Maybe look for something bigger.

      • Thanks, guys, I think I went for the wrong shape mouse for my hand size and grip style, I might order this or see if I can source a Model D close by, I'll see if anyone is keen on the Viper in the classifieds because I got it discounted before I take it back to the retailer in case it helps someone out.

  • Thank you. Just purchased one.

Razer DeathAdder V2 or Razer Basilisk V2 ? Thoughts ?

  • +1

How is this for general use - MS office/email?

    • Curious to know the answer to this too.

    • +2

i use it for gaming and for productivity. Great for both in my opinion

      • How does it compare for MX? MX look pretty comfortable and cost the same.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582719

        • depends on your hand size i suppose
i much prefer this over the MX as i have slightly bigger hands

        • I have really big hands. The DA is a better fit than most (I'd still prefer bigger), but the thing with the MX that I hated is that thumb "ledge". Everyone uses their mouse different but for me that really gets in the way because I seem to like my thumb on the desk itself, and I feel like I don't have a good grasp of the mouse when it's on that.

          It's all pretty subjective though

  • thanks OP.. Got 2 !!

  • Can't pass up this deal, cheers

  • Is anyone else getting an error that it can't be shipped to your location?

    • I did until I changed delivery address from PO Box to residential address.

      • Thanks for the reply. I ended up finding out that after I had changed from a PO Box to an address in the settings that you may have to manually change it on the item page as well.

  • Bought one via Expedited International Delivery, ETA 3 DEC, very quick. THX OP

  • is this the best mouse for FPS?

    • best is subjective but this is one of the most popular

  • Been feeling my DA Elite is starting to go… perfect timing and the best price! Thanks OP
