    Wow $1 ! (or is it 199.00?)

  • sorry LOL $1,199.00

This is comparable deal also $1199 with a sydney city shop u can buy directly from, this model has 2 year warranty, so the COTD one is not really that much of a bargain. enjoy :D

Hmm the COTD one has better CPU + bigger HDD, Online comp one has bluray + more ram + better warranty (it must be a grey import to have the 2 years warrenty no Aus stock??) I would say the online computer one is a better deal.

This notebook is actually HUGE, great for movies but not so great for portability. And if you are after gaming get one of those HP's with the HD 6770M for $800ish and NOT this. Full HD screen + GT540 does not work great.

      Great laptop but nooooooo bingo

      • +1

Another difference is the screen size. COTD screen is 17.3 inches while the other one is 15.6 inches.

        • Oh hahaha, how did i miss that! Doh

the graphics card will struggle to play full HD games

    • Something like Battlefield 3 and Skyrim should run just fine on medium.

      • frame rates even at medium would be ordinary, maybe 25-30FPS. Can't believe some people think they can game (at medium/high settings and have good fps) on a mid-range laptop!

  • I was looking at this. No bluetooth??? Can't see it in the specs. Seems strange. But thanks for everyone's opinions .

    Pity about the GPU.

    • yeah let down

    • +2

      Bigger pity about the seller.

  • Awesome laptop, but the GPU really kills it. It could be good for a media laptop, with the 1920x1080, but with 12GB of RAM, 17.3 inch screen and resolution, you would really have thought this to be a gaming laptop. And it's from COTD. A shame, really.

    • You could use it for, you know… work…

      • That would be somewhat overkill, considering it has more RAM than most desktops do, a bigger screen than most laptops do, and triple the price of a netbook. I would imagine most jobs out there would only require word processing and PDF and spreadsheet functionality, so a lower priced laptop would be quite sufficient in that regard. Therefore, it would be most suitable for media purposes.

        • +1

I believe this would be an ideal laptop if you're going to use it for Photoshop and media editing. A nice 17" screen at 1920x1080, plenty of RAM and a huge amount of internal storage.

        • Trouble is that Photoshop & video editing are just about the only things this laptop is suited for.

  • Almost purchased but HDMI port is on the right side so it would make using a mouse very annoying.
