  • Hoooooo boy, 1500r is a LOT of curve

    https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSuFwMI…

Not necicarily bad, Just be aware!

    • Wow!

      • Thats the OFFICIAL 'Auros' image too; not someone random online.

    • +1

That image is so exaggerated. I own a 1500r monitor and the curve is no where near what's shown.

    • Misleading image though..the curve is not the monitor

      • Its their official one. i didnt make it, lol.

  • Nice, almost tempted to get this - but holding out for the 34" variant.

  • My employer has organised a carnival of generosity and given us $500 allowance for a wfh monitor set up.

Are gigabyte monitors good? Missus is going use it too but says that she trusts only LG, Samsung or Dell, so I have to convince her that Gygabite monitors are not not that bad and reputable…

    • +1

Obviously it can change SO MUCH model to model, but if I has to place a tier list for "these are going to be above expectation"

      Asus
      Dell
      HP
      Acer

      In that order.
Everyone will have an opinion, but im ordering upwards of 5 a week for clients, so im getting a decent sample size of models.

  • How's this compare to the Xiaomi

  • +1

Is this better than the S2721DGF?

Seems about on par with the upcoming BF price, with the only difference being this is a larger screen?

    • +1

This monitor has a VA panel. The upcoming S2721DGF has an IPS panel.

IPS is generally more sought after though VA panels have blacker blacks if that's your thing.

      • Good pick, missed that. Thank you

    • Yeh exactly my thinking
VA and curve and size the key differences

Just wondering will the refresh rate of 165 only work with display port or would it be fine with HDMI? Looking for a new screen for PS5

    • +1

It doesn't specify which usually means it will work on HDMI. Ps5 is capped at 120 frames so it'll cover your needs for sure.

      • Does it matter that the monitor only support HDMI 2.0 whereas the way to go is 2.1?

        • Depending on what you want.

          I'm getting a 4k 60hz and 1440p 165hz(gonna be good for a future gaming pc)

Without hdmi 2.1, you won't get 4k and 120hz on the ps5. I dont care for both at the same time, most games won't get there anyway from what I've read.

    • Be aware that this is a 2K monitor and PS5 only supports 1080p and 4k. So you'll have to play on 1080p using this monitor. There have been whispers that PS are considering 2K support but I wouldn't hold my breath.

      • Ohhh that sucks I was hoping to get the best of both with decent resolution combined with good refresh

        • +1

          I know man me too.

If its any consolation I ended up buying a 4k Dell monitor 32". Its only 60hz refresh but I think its absolutely fantastic. I have a 27" 1080p 144hz monitor that I tried also and have to say the refresh rate hasn't affected me in any way.

  • How is this monitor compare to Xiaomi mi curve?

  • Got super stoked until i saw it is the 32 inch variant. Just as good as the Xioami, they have the same panel apparently.

  • gigabyte g34wqc for the win.
