How does the Pro H compare with the 3H?

    • Hello joeiwu,

3H has relatively lower coverage area of 25.9m²-44.9m² as well as lower Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 380m³/hr. Though 3H does have slightly higher Noise levels of 32 ~ 64 dBA.

These are the prominent among other differences between their respective specifications.

      • I see. Thanks for your reply. Although, the Pro H sounds good, after discount it is still like 2.3x more expensive, so one could get 2x 3H's and still be on top in terms of price….

@aiecosystem Any discounts on the F1?

    • Sorry mate,
The discount only applies to Pro H model.

  • Just my 2 Cents.
We have something pretty much like this.
I'm sure they're all pretty similar on the inside.
Was surprised to see Xiaomi use NFC tags on the filter to control / force replacing.
It's looking like we'll go through 2 filters a year, current one says 8% remaining, but it looks pretty clean.
Doesn't seem to catch much ordinary dust, which is what we hoped it would do.
Seems it focuses on only the most extremely tiny particles.
Was hoping to reduce internal for dusting TV and TV stand and shelves in lounge, hasn't helped at all.

To be blunt.. it seems overpriced for something that is ultimately a plastic box that has a fan that sucks air through a filter.

Most of these air filters by design only focusing on the smallest particles, since generally they have the biggest health risks (since it respiratory system isn't really geared to filter them out).

Logically if you want something to filter out the dust on the TV/stand means they would end up in the filter, so you probably would need to change the filter every month, which gets expensive fast. Maybe humidifier near air inlets (windows, etc) makes more sense?

      • If it's not capturing the larger particles (which should be easier to catch), then common sense says it's not capturing the smaller ones so well either.
These really should be capturing all sorts of stuff, larger particles in a pre-filter and then the fine stuff in the main filter.

Personally i think the design is far from optimal.

    • I have a 3H and never tried this, but I have read that you can cheat replacing the filter by covering the RFID chip on the bottom of the filter with some tin foil then press the reset button. It might give a message saying it isn't a genuine item but should reset and keep going as normal.

How much does the replacement filter cost?

    Thanks

    • Hello goobar,

The high precision category 13 HEPA filter of Pro H has a life span of 14 months and replacement should cost around 100 A$.

Because of this being a newer model, exact figures are not presently available.

  • I'm looking at the xiao-mi website, and they say the #H has "True HEPA filter" whereas the Pro doesnt.

Does that mean the #H comes with HEPA filter by default, but the Pro version i'd have to purchase separately?
