LG CX 55” 4K OLED Smart TV $2660 + $35 Delivery (Free C&C) @ The Good Guys eBay

210
PTGG5

Original Coupon Deal

Arguably the best TV out there right now, also recommended as one of the best monitors from Rtings.

Assuming T&Cs are enforced and you can't just buy $2800 worth of JB HiFi gift cards at 15% off via Coles, then go in store at JB to get it at 2800*0.85 = $2380, then this is the next best deal.

Pretty decent price if you don't mind the hassle of getting 7 Coles giftcards

Step 1. Immediate $140 / 5% using PTGG5 code = 2800-140 = $2660
Step 2. eBay maximum of 8 giftcards/promo code, therefore (7 * 100) * 0.15 = -$105 = $2555
Step 3. 1% Shopback/Cashrewards = 2660 * 0.01 = -$26.6 = $2528.40

Side note; chatting to the staff at TGG and JB, the 48" is likely never to go on sale due to huge demand and lack of supply (~70 on backorder at JB). All deals will likely be on 55" and above.

  • Certainly not the best deal (C9 was cheaper LY) however if you’re after it ASAP given the shortages due to the new consoles coming out this isn’t too bad.

FYI For those wondering, the commercial price on this TV is $2,600.

    • Am getting 2800 on my commercial account. Maybe it differs by the type of commercial account?

      • Confirming that this was through an Insurance Company using JB (highly likely that the retailer already had a ticketed discount and the commercial price was applied on top).

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how does one get commercial price ?

  • Where do you get the Ebay gift cards?

    • Coles

      • The him/her cards work on ebay tgg?

        • No. You have to buy the eBay gift cards at Coles

          • @amuthan: I don't think they are 15% off?

I missed a great price last time, which was $2545.75 + Delivery for CX 55

Remembers getting his B7 for $1700 this time a few years ago

    • I got my B8 for $1500 January last year. It is hard to stomach current day prices. I should have splashed out another $1000 for the 65"

      • I got those feels, too.

        But I regret nothing.

        OLEDs are bloody worth it.

      • The B9 was about that price last year.

Was really hoping to pick that or at least a BX up for under $1800. Would've paid the premium.

Now I'm just sitting here hoping either the Samsung Q70T or the Sony X9000h hit close to the $1k mark by Monday. They're not worth the $1500+ price imo.

Unfortunately there's just no decent deals on upper mid range 55" TVs at the moment, all the deals are on 75" with a few 65" here & there. Even the mediocre LG Nano86 is sitting at it's usual price.

      $1000? Are you (profanity) serious?

      • -6

        Can you read?

hoping either the Samsung Q70T or the Sony X9000h hit close to the $1k mark

If you can read, then you don't understand the concept of bargain hunting & unable to observe trends.

Last year, the 55” Samsung Q60R(replaced by the Q70T) was under $1100 around this time last year at a few places.

        • Oh no, we can just read. You're just completely delusional.

          • -2

@pharcyde: Ah yes, hoping for a good price, on a bargain hunting website, with precedence, completely delusional…

            • +1

@ChristopherJack: Ah ok. Well since we're hoping for unrealistic bargains, I hope I find a PS5 tomorrow for $100.

              • -2

@pharcyde: Do you understand the word precedent? Why is it unrealistic when the previous models of these TVs during these specific sales in previous years have been around the price I was hoping for?

I'm not going to pretend there aren't external factors affecting this year's sales, primarily covid19 & two gaming console launches (hense hoped not expected).

But this is often among the biggest sales event of the year & all 3 of the 55" LCDs I've had my eye on have already been cheaper.

I just don't comprehend why classifies me as delusional unless you're a toxic troll or even more intelligent than you claim me to be.

  • is $2660 worth it for the CX 55"? (this is TGG price instore and online).

  • I purchased the CX this week from JB for 2800, will they price match and give me back the difference?
