Came across this deal. It is now cheaper than 3900x
Still a reasonable price considering that 5900x is 20% more expensive and 20% more powerful

  • Not bad, glad I picked it up on Prime Day from ebay though. Worked out at ~$600 with 20% off and bonus cashback.

    • +2

Well done… I grabbed one from Shallothead on ebay (ebay plus day?)… or so I thought….. They held my cash for weeks then cancelled my order…..nothing I could do… So I ordered within seconds of the PLE release of the 5900x for $880 or so - they obviously had NO stock so not even an ETA….. I have a wonderful ITX build with no processor for the last couple of months!

      • Yeah, when I saw the 5xxx series release I wasn't too excited personally. I set up a notification for 3900x deals as soon as I read about the release as the performance difference was irrelevant to me, and I anticipated they would be $850-900. So 3900xt @ $600 for only ~20% less performance seemed like a much better option.

  • Question everyone saying the 3900xt is 20% less performance then the 3900x? or im missing something lol

A d i guess from US Amazon there would also be 10% GST on top?

    • US imports via Amazon AU already include GST

    • The 3900x and 3900xt are almost identical in performance, the 3900xt is marginally faster. The 20% less performance was vs the 5900x from the latest range.
