    I'm tempted, because all the recipes in the internet are written for the "Instant Pot" branded cookers, but Phillips, which I use regularly, still may be a better device. Also on sale:

      One of the reasons that the IP is so popular is that it comes with a stainless steel pot by default. Most other pressure cookers at this price range come with non-stick coated pots.

        You can by SS fot the Phillips cooker. Ceramic coating is actually really good.

          That's awesome, I've never found an SS insert, so I assumed they didn't exist other than for the InstaPot.

      Any feedback on phillips? I heard that phillips one will have the smell of previously cooked food on the lids..

        Phillips has a maximum of 59 minutes in pressure cooking. I’m not sure of the instant pot. I’m considering getting one if it doesn’t have that limit.

    Can anyone comment on using this vs regular rice cooker? In terms of ease of use, consistency, time?

      Instant pot is faster at cooking rice or stews so we can save time and energy cost. It has both temperature and pressure sensors which provide consistency and prevent from burning food. However, if the main purpose is cooking rice then I would recommend buying a regular rice cooker that is especially built for cooking rice as I always get a bit starchy cooked rice when using my instant pot.

      In my 8L pot with rinsed jasmine rice I do 4 mins pressure cook with a 1:1 ratio of water and it comes out great every time with minimal sticking.

    My oven just broke and I'm considering getting this until I can get it fixed.

    Can these roast vegetables? From what I can see pressure cookers can't actually roast vegetables despite saying they can, it appears you can't get crispy brown edges on them? Vegetables end up more soggy than crisp?

      This pot is more like a pot with a lid on your stove, not oven-like or an airfryer at all.

      There are some models with baking modes, but a pressure cooker is never for roasting. It's for steaming or boiling things faster, because of higher pressure.
