Midnight last night at around 00:15 Amazon had an one-hour lightning deal for exactly the same deal for $349 ($315 after ZipPay cashback). It didnt last long at all though.
Amazing that this is such a great deal compared to what you can buy it for everywhere else.
it's a four-year-old last-gen console, less powerful than it's last-gen competitors, and cost $469 at launch. Should be closer to half that by now.
Pandemic, and Nintendo's artificial scarcity strategy, are really paying off for them. (Not so good for non-rich gamers though).
I'm not aware of any other hybrid gaming console out there (TV + handheld). Some people buy a console because they want fun games to play, not because it's the most powerful next-gen thing. Paying $350 for it with a very popular game that many would purchase otherwise anyway makes it closer to $300, still a decent discount from $469. I can't wait to play MK8!

But no matter how you slice it, it's definitely overpriced.
Would be difficult (impossible?) to stack discounted gift cards with the commbank offer, because the commbank offer requires you to pay with the commbank card…
