Thanks OP, have been waiting for this!

pity its only points not pay part

    • you can actually pay with cash if not enough points

      • +2

No what i meant was the discount doesnt get applied to the pay part of the transaction. So essentially full price if you dont use points.

iPhone 12 128GB is $1429 from Apple, or $1417.50 plus 2000 points from the Qantas store. Where's the saving?

    • +2

As indicated in the terms of the deal (included in OP):

"Discount is available using points only and/or the points proportion of Points Plus Pay, is applied at checkout to points value only."

  • Is 20% off any good? I remember some previous Qantas sales giving more than that.

    • Not the best value for use of points but if you have excess points not a bad way to secure an iphone… last deals have been around the 15-20% mark

      • Thanks. Pulled trigger on some Apple watches.

Thank OP. Had 500k points which we won't be using for a while and needed a couple new phones. This was perfect! Cheers.

Now time to find some more bonus CC sign up deals to top up the balance

  • Looks like 10% off points club has been taken down this time??

    • +1

I think it was an error last time since the ability to stack was removed shortly

      • +1

        Not a big loss. Last time was 15 + 10% vs. 20%

Thanks OP/Harby and wootwoot- finally pulled the trigger for pro max 256 gb. Had close to 1.4 mil which I have saved over the years for a business class trip of a lifetime for the family!! Now that’s it’s not gonna happen for a year or two, it’s better to spend 2800$ worth of points calculated at 1c/point. Not a bad deal IMO as I was about to buy it anyway! Btw postage was free this time :)

@Ohreally: Congrats my dude! used 260k to buy iphone 12 pro for the Mrs and used $1k in JB gift cards from telstra deal to get mine… still have circa 300k points for flights next year (hopefully) when travel resumes

          • @Ohreally: What are you getting at 1c per point?

The iphone pro max 256gb sells for $2019

With this deal it reduces to 280.9k points

            This is 0.71c per point

            • @Baghern: and thats good … or bad… c/point is a fine metric but it needs to be qualified

            • @Baghern: Yes you are right mate. Typed it from work. I was meant to say not worth 1c a point at this time.

  • Bit the bullet and bought iPhone12 128gb. Expected delivery says 30th Dec though.

    • yes, i was put off by that delivery date and went for the 11 128gb, expected delivery 8th Dec and "only" 150k points, looked reasonable to me

    • i reckon you might get yours early, mine 11 is already delivered and shipped direct from apple aus

      • I hope so, still showing as 30th Dec and status as processing.

        • don't want to give false hope, but i wouldnt pay much attention to it - mine still shows processing, with 8th Dec estimated delivery

Thanks OP, as others have said buying stuff isn't the best use of points but with us not being able to travel for a while combined with my recent mullings of switching from Android to iOS we decided to bite the bullet and bought ourselves each an iPhone 11 128gb for Christmas.
