People paid $750 when it came out haha. Intel always ripping us off.

      Intel always ripping us off.

Intel's just a corporation, their whole reason for existence is to sell things at high prices. Competition forced prices down. Support competition, not AMD or Intel.

They sure need some super power now…

  • +1

Whoa this is really cheap. Next cheapest price is $555 and it doesn't have the Avengers packaging.

My budget was originally enough for KF, but now can afford this.

    • may be you can sell avengers packaging to someone on Ebay for extra profit :D

    • I believe computer alliance had it for 499$ on Homepage and 479$ on ebay, as that's what I bought an hour ago 🙄

OMG Intel's desperation… FFS Intel, fire your whole marketing department.

  • +2

FYI to anyone getting charged postage, it is a glitch and will be refunded

Anyway, amazing value for an 8C/16T CPU with equivalent gaming performance to the 5600X (which is both hard to get and more expensive), thanks OP

  • +3

Hilarious that it doesn’t come with the new Avengers game.

    • +3

Probably a good thing from what I've heard.

  • Lol this is desperate from Intel, however there is a big part of me that is really enjoying this.

  • Was hoping it came with a Hulk fist-shaped CPU cooler

  • damn you! i was looking at a 10700KF… this is cheaper… was also going to wait till March for 11th gen… oh well!

actually I was looking at the 10600KF for $360… but for $70 more this is a no brainer!

  • Avengers edition ?… It must be more powerful. Sold !

  • Is this compatible with a x570 motherboard? Research is telling me no…

    • No, X570 is for AMD CPUs.

      • Yeah, that's what I thought. Guess I will pray there is a decent deal on the Ryzen 7s!

        Thanks!

  • Great find! Thanks OP

  • +2

I had no intentions of upgrading, but since it comes with an Avengers box? Yeah, still no intentions.

  • $500 when in checkout.

Edit: Was bugged in mobile and showing $440 on PC.

  • +1

I thought Avengers the movie but it's Avengers the game. Ew

    • +2

      its just packaging, calm down

      • +1

They went hysterical with their 'ew' didn't they?

  • Bugger. Just bought a 10600k a month ago for 385. Hmmmmmpf. Anyone know what they go for second hand?

    • I sold mine for $300

    • What mb did you go for?

  • hmm ill wait for 11th gen pci 4.0

  • This is a great deal. I thought I got a great deal for $480 a few days ago and mine was the KF model too.

  • They missed a great opportunity with this. Should have designed an Ironman Arc Reactor cooler for the cpu

  • +1

Can anyone recommend a good well priced motherboard for this? Do I need to buy a fan for this?

  • Managed to grab one. Now for the mobo and liquid cooler.

  • Really good price, bought a 10700F for $459 about a month ago and could NOT claim the avengers game (not on Intel selected suppliers).
    Ouch.

    • What mobo did you go with? Looking to do a mini-ITX myself

      • The one I got was ATX size
        Gigabyte GA-Z490-UD-AC

With built in wifi. Save $20-50

        Z490 chipset

Damn ATX Tower with no 5.25" drive bays, just empty space inside the case!!

  • This deal is too good to pass up.

  • Spewing. Ordered mine yesterday when it dropped to $499. Tried to ring Centre Com to cancel my order (they aren't answering the phones today).

This deal has just expired now though, so I guess that made the decision for me. $499 still isn't bad though, considering I was looking at paying $599 a week ago.

  • (profanity) me dead missed it.

  • Is this running palladium cores?

    • +1

      I think it’s vibranium

      • Ah! Of course, the updated model

  • Not too experienced with computer parts, how is the performance of this CPU compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X? Am mainly interested in it for graphic design/video editing etc.

    • +1

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X is better in productivity but also about 60% more expensive. This only beats 3900x in gaming performance. You can watch the productivity and gaming comparison between the two below.

  • Anyone have any idea how to redeem the games bundle? :)

Edit. Nevermind I think I have to wait until I have the CPU installed and then run hardware checker and claim etc.

    • I am not sure that is correct.

      I "tried" to claim it here;

      https://softwareoffer.intel.com/

I failed because my CPU was purchased from a supplier not on their list.
I did not have a Avengers packaged CPU, but the CPU I purchased was on the list.

I think if you have a Avengers packaged CPU, it comes with a code or voucher which you claim here.

Sorry that was for the Avengers game and not the extra bundle games.

    • +1

      Don't have to wait.
After you scan and it says fail, it'll take you to another screen to upload your proof of purchase.
Once submitted they'll review/approve then your intel account will have instructions on how to download the Avengers game.
The gaming bundle Master Key will come shortly after.

Got both the next day after I submitted the claim. Haven't even opened my CPU box yet.

  • anyone got a RAM recommendation for this?

  • Anyone had theirs shipped yet?
