      for those interested, chat told me that they are still investigating with the seller and will let me know the outcome within 12 hours on whether I will get a refund/credit of the difference. I also double checked and they said I can still cancel the order if the item is shipped before then (just speak to them on the chat)

          If this helps, if you were planning to cancel, my payment went into pending and the cancel button disappeared from my orders, but you can tell them to cancel it via live chat if they haven't shipped it out already.

    My customer representative told me he will give me a $50 refund once the payment has gone through. I have the transcript for the chat unless they pull something. He said there will be an email confirmation once the $50 refund has gone though.

          I believe electronics inclusive of headphones are at 5% cash back from Shopback. Not sure if the refund will screw up my cash back unless Amazon issues the $50 as a separate credit. I always treat the cash back as an added bonus anyway, so let’s see!

    got the email after I cancelled order. contacted live chat. after a bit of pushing, they told me to pay for the non-lightning deal price and they'll refund the difference for the lightning deal price. rep even said "I have gone beyond my limitations. This is a risk to my job" 😂 so I was like, "not to worry, I will give you 5 star feedback"

    so I took my time, ordered through shopback, should be getting some cashback on top. yay!!

        Yep. So I bought the AirPods on price match at Officeworks back in may, already claimed two small amounts twice. Anyway never mind I found it on the upcoming deals section of Amazon, that should be enough, just in case they get shirty (but they've been pretty good about honouring the policy in the past).

    Managed to grab a pair for $249 through eBay in the end. This is my first time trying to get one of these lightning / 2 hourly drop deals. Pleased I succeeded in the end, but was it worth the time? Pleased to get my life back 😆

      @Kal There is an easier way to get sub $300 and keep your stress level down :-) Catch is selling $318 (sign up Club Catch trial or $6.50 for free shipping). Today CR 10% (~$29) plus Latitude Pay $20 discount should save $49 off that.

    I did the Catch deal with the Club catch free shipping offer and the Latitude Pay $20 and CR discount. Bit of stuffing around but worth it in the end.
