This one is made in China.

    • I'm guessing the ones made in Germany have some parts from China.

    • Bought a Germany made Bosch washing machine 4 years ago. Paid extra few hundred bucks just for the place.. Corner rusted in 2 years. Leaked several times from the bottom and system down several times. Called customer service but was told labour cost $$$. Finally got rid of it yesterday..

    • Thanks RogueWolf. Any experience regarding china vs German bosch?

      • No sorry I got no idea, but I’m sure those that have purchased from previous deals will start commenting some feedback soon

Avoid China ones. Get the WAW models for German quality.

    • The Chinese WAP model is not as good I gather, but is it still good enough to buy? Based on the upvotes on the last deal I would say yes.

      • Why not?

I still don't get why not to get a Chinese Bosch. From the comments over all the previous deals I can find here, there's nothing in particular apart from the sentiment that "made in Germany" is better than "in China".

Which might be a good rule of thumb, but nobody would comment why the very same (?) product made in a different part of the world be different. It's not like we're talking an original vs a knock-off, right? Is there more of planned obsolescence engineered into the Chinese version? Are some parts thin plastic instead of German-forged steel? Is the warranty different?

The price difference is significant, which might be because of labour and logistics costs.

          Depends on the manufacturer.

For example, iPads from China great quality because Apple is all over them. Android tablets? Often complete and utter rubbish quality because the Chinese are in charge and they don’t give a rats.

        I'm talking WAP, WAP, WAP

What evidence is there that German made is better? The Asian car makers wipe the floor with German car makers in terms of reliability. Plus most of the electrical items in your house are made in China.

      • The thousands of reviews on appliances online / TGG.

German made is just as bad.

          • @Sshome: Cool. At least Germans are not trying to teach Australia a lesson.

I’ve had one of these now for 2 years and it’s perfect. Excellent machine and extremely quiet also. Would not be worried about it being made in China if you’re thinking about pulling the trigger.

  • Waiting for a bargain Bosch dishwasher.

For anyone like me who hates Bosch products and wants an LG instead, here's the deal I just scored…

Appliance Central is selling the LG 8kg wv5-1408w for $678 (https://www.appliancecentral.com.au/wv5-1408w-lg-8-kg-front-…)

JB are currently selling theirs for $746 (https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/lg-wv5-1408w-8kg-ai-direc…), but they were more than happy to price match.

Used my 15% off Him/Her/Teen cards from here (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/582451) to make the purchase, which brought the effective price down to $576.3.

    • Sydney only?

      • I price matched at a JB HiFi in Newcastle without issue.
