    good price son

    Yes it is, father.

  • Was hoping to see the Nanoblade for less than $100, still so expensive.

have the bosh vacuum, it very often goes down to $100. Very powerful, lots of noise, can vacuum anything you put in front of it. Be aware that the vacuum head it comes with is suited for a workshop (hard floors) as in it has no wheels, nor brush, nor anything. I had to get an additional one on ebay which would be suitable for hard floors (wood) and carpets. I later picked up another one form the street during hard waste collection days which has pet heir removing brushed and it works perfectly.

any feedback on that angle grinder?

    • I've had a Bosch Green angle grinder for a couple of years, it does the job fine for general home handyman type tasks and is definitely worth the $35 I paid for it.
Note that the included guard is a grinding guard, not a cutting guard, and once you've googled a few 'how to use' videos including the 'what can go wrong' injuries you'll see why that distinction is important.

      • thanks. grinder deal has expired now anyway

      • I'm planning to get an angle grinder to remove a section of a plaster wall. Is there one that has a dust extractor so that I don't get dust being sprayed everywhere when cutting into the plaster wall?

        • You mean a plaster wall like gyprock? An angle grinder would be overkill for that particular task. Those oscillating multi tools cut through gyprock like a hot knife through butter, still make enough dust, but it probably wouldn't spread it as far. They would be dearer than an angle grinder though so not much use if you don't already have one. Even drilling a pilot hole and having at it with a bare hacksaw blade would work, with a lot less chance of cutting into the studs behind the plaster, (probably cut a line with a stanley knife first).

That said, its nice to have an angle grinder in your kit, so if that's your excuse for buying one, go for it.

          • @foonman: Thanks for the tip! It's a DIY task that I've not done before so I'm reading up and getting feedback on the best tool to use.

My DIY task is to reverse/undo a job that is similar to this photo here, going from the "after" back to the "before" by removing the plasterwall covers and the air ducts inside. I have this set-up inside my built-in wardrobe and I want to remove these to reclaim space. My ducted aircon is dead, I have no use for these air ducts anymore.

Should I use an angle grinder, or oscillating multi tool?

  • Was looking at this wet/dry vac last night. take my money!

  • I remember seeing a 2000W for like $135 industrial vac last night on AMazon, wouldnt that be better?

Can someone explain to me why its not a good idea to just spend the money on something like this:

    Over this:

I'd say mostly FILTRATION and of course the Miele would have better indoor/carpet attachment(s). Personally I wouldn't use a shopvac indoors as it will blow out a lot of dust. They're great for outdoor use.

    • The industrial vacuum cleaners are generally very noisy.

  • The vac is good. However, the bags are expensive ($30 for 5) and you can't get cheap generic alternatives.
