There's two pyrexs?
There are. PYREX is much safer as it is made from borosilicate glass, though some might argue that it's not a big deal. Google has a lot of info on that subject. New Pyrex has tendency to explode even when handled correctly. Again, some may argue it is just a customer being negligent and pyrex is as good as PYREX.
Which is which? There is one marked made in USA which can't be used in the oven. The other type can be used in the oven.

They all can be used in an oven, but there were cases where Pyrex stuff has exploded as it is less tolerant to temperature changes. PYREX was made in the USA, now in Europe, while Pyrex in the USA after it was bought by Corelle Brands.
@bargainparker: Thank you! Thought the descriptions were weird, the ones marked made in the USA were silent on whether they could be used in the oven, the others weren't. I appreciate the clarification.
