  • I like their equipment but I wouldn't go the lawn mower - if you are starting out I'd recommend a second hand Victa. That will do you better than a Ryobi lawn mower.

  • I have the trimmer and blower and think they are fine.

I have a similar mower but it's an ozito and has 2x 4.0ah batteries and I agree with other posters that it is hard work cutting thick lawn like buffalo. I have about 80m2 and also thinner grass on the council strip and the mower cuts out a lot and I can't have the setting any lower than 55mm which means my grass grows back too quickly. I didn't want the hassle of kee petrol under my house but I don't think I'll get a battery mower again.

  • Would have been better if it was the dual 18v battery setup they had a while ago.

I have the 36v mower and whipper and they do the job. Obviously if you leave the grass to over grow then it will be tedious slow runs.

  • how is it so cheap? is it crap?

The EGO equivalent is over $1000.

    • This is 18v …

      • does that mean it will be really weak?

        • +1

Yes it is weak but my mother in law LOVES hers…she had a decent petrol mower and will not look at that again. It's so easy and light to manouvre and she only has a small lawn and mows it once a week so it's always maintained….if it gets too long this thing would struggle. And she has the luxury of no maintenance and not having to worry about petrol again…she raves about it all the time.

So the 18v does suit some people. For most people, a 56V EGO would be much better.

        • P=VI

Power is directly proportional to the voltage.

    • they know you'll have to buy replacement batteries in the future

  • Would be nice to have a deal on the Ryobi 18V One+ Dual Battery Brushless Lawn Mower… I think that would be a better unit as the second battery can add some power for those weeks you've let the grass grow al little longer than you should have…

    • Just bought that and it's going well. Lasts 45 mins with 2 batteries

I find the smaller mower a bit more versatile as I have multiple small patches rather than one large patch

    • How much better is the Ryobi 18V One+ Dual Battery Brushless Lawn Mower? Im looking for an electric mower and have Ryobi One

Ryobi line trimmer is a piece of crap

    • +1

I can't upvote this comment enough.

      • It's awful because the line cartridge keeps getting stuck in the spindle, endless spending time unwind that damn thing. Serious piece of crap

  • +2

The line trimmer in this pack is awful. Does nothing.

The blower is excellent. Mine is still going strong after many years.

The mower is not bad. I have a courtyard and it's perfect for that. But it's flimsy, plasticky and you've got to hold the power button down for it to keep going. For you Dyson owners, you know what a pain that can be…

    Hope this helps.

  • Good price for 3 tools. Iast month I bought Victa 18v mower and blower combo. line trimmer separately. For total $400.

  • After the consideration I finally placed orders for ego mower, battery kit & blower combo, plus a trimmer (and a free battery on promo) total at $960.

    • which retailer did you buy from? Total Tools is $849 for the mower + blower combo already.

  • Got one at Bunnings in Nunawading … 3 sets left right now.

    • Tried the set. The blower is amazing … works great. Did not yet try the line trimmer.

The mower is a gamechanger for me. Small lawn and the battery makes it so much easier. Also pretty silent compared to a petrol mower (no one thinks about the neighbours). I have a small lawn so it's perfect for me.

For the price very good value.

  • Anyone know where I could get the 36V equivalent of the Ryobi batteries? Bunnings prices are ridiculous.

  • The 56 v AEG scrub cutter is the best thing I have bought. Uses a blade, not line and powers through everything. Amazing machine… Expensive though. You get a line trimmer head if you need it as well but i have never used it. I bought the mower also and it works well if you have a decent lawn.

  • Seems to go OK, but definitely doesn't look like a mower you would want to be using if you let your lawn grow out. Some cutting performance on this dudes review:

Running into issues with long thick grass:

Overall, looks pretty ideal for smaller yards where you keep your grass relatively well kept.

Battery wise for a small yard it seems somewhat reasonable. Unit is small which is probably nice for a small garage, probably very light too as it looks like its mostly made of plastic.

My grass (Kikuyu) was easily that long and Ozito 18V went through it fine.

  • the $399 ozito 36v brushless in recently bought is great, but it seems it’s a promo model, they bring a certain number in spring and once sold that is it until next year, steel deck, comes with 2x 4ah batteries, dual charger and its brushless.

i had a look at the plastic deck 36v but it wasn’t brushless and at $349 felt i’d rather pay the extra $50 for brushless and steel deck, all catcher is mesh and steel frame so feel less issues compared to a plastic one (less plastic to break, and easier to fit)
another thing is batteries can be used on ozito skins and bunnings often hame promo on batteries.
