Here's a comment from some guy on FB who seems to be in the know:

hi all, taxes and fuel surcharge are$91 from gold coast to kl and $42 return, so best we can hope for is maybe $119 and $79 return, but $200 return is brilliant. mel is same.

$200 return Mel-KL is pretty awesome!

    • I doubt you will see return fares of less than $300; this is because that was about the best price for the very earliest release of fares from Oz to KL and Air Asia don't normally sell cheaper fares at a later date.

      • yep.. not to mention credit card fees, luggage fees, seat fees, meal fees..

      • Well Mel-KL is around $500 return in Jul 2012 so I hope this sale is decent and not just $50 cheaper.

      • I got Gold Coast to KL Return for $280 back in February. Hated the return flight. Got to get up again arg!

Get with the times. Nothing ever stays free! Good deal.

    • +5

Yeah, times are really hard. Now we have to pay $6 to be flown through the air at incredible speeds to the destination of our choice. That stuff should be free.

      • -5

you do realise when the seat is free.. you still need to pay for the airport tax, credit card fee, seat allocation fee, meal fee, board me first fee, dont you?

        • bzzt board me first fee is optional, stop trying to be subtle about being a scab?

        • +2

Oh no! Taxes the airline has no say on… we have to pay them? The couple of bucks credit card fee? And then OPTIONAL fees that you don't have to pay?

Holy hell, those bastards! How do they get away with it! We pay almost $10 to them!

  • hope they have flights for sydney to anywhere soon!!

  • what a bargain! set my alarm to 3 am now.

  • Have they ever had sales to Seoul?

    • +3

      are you a Seoul man??

      • +4

        no he's a seoul brother ;)

        • funk seoul brother

        • Czech it out now.

    • GC to Seoul for around 600 return including tax.

  • I bet the fares from perth are crap. I need a holiday so may stay up till midnight.

    • You said it, i'm hoping for a cheap weekend holiday :).

  • too far to plan ahead these days…guess i'll leave the seat for someone else

  • +6

I guess if the fares turn out super cheap, then this sale could really…take off.

    YEAAAHHHH!

  • Has anyone seen the prices? I am still in the waiting room!!

    • +1

For me and the family to got to Bali from Perth before the sale 1,172.00 AUD vs 1,116.00 AUD. This is for 2 adults and 2 children Tuesday, 16 October 2012 to Saturday, 27 October 2012. This does not include the extras.

Also there flight times are not the best.

Garuda is 1,312.24 AUD and no red eye or early times.

      • Thanks for that - I thought it would be cheaper than that. Time to go to sleep.

  • +3

    And there goes the website………………….

  • So….. where are the flights? I can't find any? And the link on the homepage is gone?

  • The website is sooooo slow now lol

  • wow i'm sleepy

  • The website keeps getting "Opps the page has taken flight" and the mobile site is no better.

    • The banner add how changed back to "stay tuned… 3am" :S

  • Greatz! The whole page is totally congested.

  • sigh, why cant they send out an email at 3am telling us what the deals are.. it almost feels like a cotd sale if i cant even load the damn page

  • Any good Perth deals?

    • no… People on there facebook post are getting angry

    • Same price as before "sale" 199 Per > KL and 151 KL > Per (which is $1 more than before sale) … rightio

  • Guys try booking.airasia.com/select.aspx and booking2.airasia.com/select.aspx

Should take you to a waiting room, but eventually you'll be able to see flights.

I've found return to Singapore for ~$420

  • Melb - KL prices, anyone? oh, and i can't believe its being hammered at 3am. This is the Aus only site right? What the frick are people still doing up?

    • Briefly found MEL - KUL for $149 each way before not being able to get back in again.

      • dont forget to add the taxes and fees.

        • If you can get far enough to determine those, please share kind sir.

        • This was before the sale, just a break down for my family trip I was looking at.

  • Cheapest Mel- KL is $199 there and $159 back, that i've found.

    • is that cheap?

      • sorry $153 back.

original price before sale was $492 fr the dates i looked at. so saving $150?

        • total cost is $472 inc tax…. bloody waste of time. back to bed.

        • not a bad price but doesn't worth it to plan this far ahead. GG AirAsia, i'm not flying with you now lol

        • total cost including tax should be $352 ($199 + $153 - these prices are already inclusive of taxes and surcharges) .. and if you add the processing fee of $16 ($8 per leg) … that should have a grand total of $368.

    http://www.airasia.com/nl/nl111208pohp_my.htm

Looks like no discount for Aussie airports.
Site is dead for me… i was so close to booking!

(BTW: Why wont they do multi-cities… I have to juggle three legs, and I dont want to book one until i can be sure I will get all of them!)

    • coz theyre a low cost carrier with a shitty booking engine!

  • Same here - the site took forever to load up.

  • Well after not being able to get past the waiting room for the last 45 min, back to bed.
What I saw between MEL and KUL wasn't too special, seemed to be more than skyscanner had scraped 3 hours before the sale.

    http://www.skyscanner.com.au/flights/mela/kul/july-2012/july…
(Before the sale KUL - MEL $173, MEL - KUL $129)

  • What's the point? The website doesn't even work, just like every other major sale they have. Seems to me like Air Asia want you to wait 2-3 hrs during their sales. Make it seem scarce so you want it more.

  • -2

Hi can anybody tell me if $55 including taxes is a good price for KL to Bangkok?

    • -4

Good price.. but if u could fly full service airline like MH, why bother to stay awake at 3am to put up with crappy website and fly air asia?

    • +2

I don't get it… what was wrong with my question?

      • dont know if it's cheap for Scare Asia but yes, it is cheap.

fyi- there was nothing wrong with YOUR question at all!

  • Link doesnt work on their site?

  • I've been waiting in the waiting room for like 40 minutes… how much longer do i have to wait?

  • I've been trying all morning and afternoon. The waiting room keeps refreshing after 15 seconds.
Doesn't look like anybody has been able to get onto the site.

  • Bought a $125 KL - Perth ticket inc taxes/fuel fine about 2 weeks ago, so this is hardly an earth shattering sale. Smoke and mirrors

  • +1

fyi- it's from $199 each way from melbourne to kl so from $400 return.be really patient with their website tho coz it's crapola.

and keep in mind all the additional costs- food, luggage, checkin fees, seating, entertainment, credit card fee, booking fee. as well as the additional costs and time involved b travelling with them due to the fact tht ech flight secor is a seperate flight.so be prepared to check in nd out nd back in again at KL for onward flights.

Malaysia airlines can have awesome deals sometime AND it's an enjoyable experience to travel with them 2!

    • +1

I totally agree, MAS last sale was awesome. $590 return MEL-HCM inc. taxes, check-in luggage and meal (full service airlines) is so much better. Airasia is not so cheap anymore compared to before.

  • AUD350 return MEL-KL incl. taxes. AUD120 (oneway) optiontown upgrade to Premium with lie flat seats!

  • +1

I just checked to see how this sale is showing up on Adioso.

We have a bunch of $199 one-ways/$350 returns (incl all taxes/fees) to KL from MEL, OOL and PER in July and August. All the ones I've checked are still available when I click through to AirAsia's booking page.

Here are the links to find them:

To see where else you could get to by connecting onto other AirAsia routes, try searching for South East Asia, or Europe

    Cheers!
