General consensus with the touch screen issues is that yes, it exists, and recent software updates have only improved it somewhat, and yes, it should've been recified during QA especially for a quasi-S-series phone, but unless you actually make the specific gestures that trigger the issue in your day-to-day use, such as when playing a specific game that calls for such movements, you are not likely to ever notice it. Hence the many comments from many users saying theirs haven't been afflicted.
Not entirely true.
My phone had no issues that I noticed day to day (despite the app showing it did), however after one of the updates (the 2nd I think) is started to play up to the point where it was becoming unusable
I returned it so no idea if the 3rd would have improved or not
Well the thing is it's very hard to tell objectively because although it seems the issue affects all FE devices, some users like yourself report that the software updates made things worse while other users (including everyone around me who has one) never had issues and didn't even know touch screen issues existed until they read or heard about it, or they stopped experiencing issues after recent updates. Maybe the second update was a dud, who knows.

Just a warning, this is a SINGLE SIM phone only. If this is important to you, don't consider S20 FE at all since Samsung decided to bring their substandard version to Australia with only one SIM. I've confirmed this with Samsung Australia support.
I cant remember Samsung having ever released their dual sim model of any phone to Australia
Some of the S20 series in australia have dual sim.
The Note 10+ has dual sim. One of the sim slot can put in microsd card if you want.

No, it's not really a "dual sim" phone, it should be called "hybrid dual sim". So single sim means sim + sd card.

Hybrid Sim = Sim slot 1 is a nano, Sim slot 2 is either a micro sim OR microSD card, so upto two Sim cards in the same phone
I called Samsung and the agent confirmed all S20FE phones in AUS are single sim ONLY. They are not hybrid Sim, they are single sim with SD card slot for expansion.
@[Deactivated]: Specs don't mention eSim capabilities. Telstra sales rep confirmed that Apple supports eSims and the Samsung S20 FE does not.
If you are on the fence can't decide to buy or not, and the touch screen issue, things to consider, it's about their flag ship in that time, the old note 10+, it seems Samsung hasn't improved much
coming from the S8+ the upgrade is a no brainer at this price for me.
keep in mind that S8+ plus has a higher resolution screen (i.e. higher DPI). Everything else is better.

I've actually done a bit of a test and subscribed around October to 5 email addresses. Not once did I receive a voucher. Pretty sure no one does unless they complain via chat. Seems awfully dodgy to promise something but never deliver.

perhaps my problem was I did them all around the same time. Couldve been something wrong with their system at the time OR theres a lizardman based conspiracy going on.
You may have already received one in the past? I searched my inbox for 'Samsung $50' and found I had one still valid from back in May.
I never had any problems with the voucher and I have used 4 already using different emails to subscribe via the education protal. It seems the pop-up is not smart enough to check if you have already subscribed even when you are logged in. Better the checkout system is also not smart enough to verify if you have used the promotion codes previously.

I doubt they'll run out of stock. There are lots of 128gb models around at retail stores so I'd say samsung's warehouse is full of them. It hasn't been out of stock since its launch 2-3 months ago.
$696 (after your voucher arrives) is a very good deal. Unless u multitask a lot u probably don't need the extra 2gb ram, and you can spend a bit more money on ur microSD card if you wanted the extra hard drive space of the 256Gb model.
Might be worth chatting with samsung to see how long this price will last

Thanks for your advice. I will just wait it out until I get the voucher then. I will be upgrading from a Sony Xperia Z5 so it will be a big upgrade regardless if I got the 6 or 8GB ram model. Spoke to the online chat and they said it runs until the 29th of December or unless sold out.
Registered a ton of email addresses for the voucher, none have come through.
I have successfully redeemed the voucher 3 times in the past, because it does not care which email address the voucher is sent to, nor does it track whether a particular education account has used one before.
I contacted samsung on chat and they said up to 5 days to receive the voucher due to high demand hmmm you would think it was an automated thing
It's totally random. I put in a bunch of email addresses, for domains where I applied with before (different alias). Just now I tried another of our personal domains (that Samsung would have never come across), and it arrived in 10 minutes. This has been my experience previously - it favours unfamiliar domains.

I called Samsung to see what needed to happen if I return it. They say 6-7 weeks to "process the refund" once they receive the phone back.
And that is if I dont even open it.
For a tech company, their finance side is medieval.
Looks like 256Gb version is back in stock. Not sure how that happens within 24 hours, but hope that helps anyone disappointed yesterday!

When u add it to your cart you can adjust the quantity to say 50 and it will say 'error - maximum 27 units' or something like that

Would anyone happen to have a voucher they could spare? I have been patiently waiting for 3 days now across about 4 different emails and no luck! No - any address will do. As many times as you want. You can even unsubscribe and re-subscribe an address.

I finally decided to open mine - was on the fence whether to take the risk or send it back, tbh.
Anyhow, I stuck with the S20 FE and opened the seal. Initially showed once or twice touch screen diagonals when doing the touch screen test.
Did the OTA update, and can not replicate the touch screen problem.
Phone seems quite nice, actually (mind you the v30 remains my favourite)
