Deliveroo’s offer will begin on Saturday for Sydney’s Northern Beaches before being made available to rest of Australia on Monday.

Customers should look out for the “Festive Free Delivery” tag to find restaurants taking part in the promotion.

Does this have anything to do with COVID-19?

This has everyone to do with COVID-19. lol

What do Deliveroo know about "nationwide Monday" that the rest of us don't know…. ????

  • +12

The delivery drivers can take the risk… no risk to deliveroo… they probably don't even get money for ppe

    • +1

Exactly. This is some cynical bs from deliveroo

    • -1

While this is accurate and really bad on Deliveroos part the drivers don't have to accept a job? They should also already have masks, it's not exactly like the pandemic is new..

  • +2

Deliveroo doesn't care about delivery drivers!

  • +1

This is terrible of deliveroo… Making us travel to the northern beaches to use this offer or wait until Monday.

So basically f the drivers right….

    On the bandwagon goes deliveroo

  • My first thought was about the poor delivery drivers exposing themselves in a hotspot.

Any extra compensation and protection to the drivers for the risk, Deliveroo? Or are you simply trying to target some well off people with the hope of more sales?

  • Never thought I'd see Ozbargainers complain about free delivery. Of course it's a promotional opportunity; surely you didn't think it was altruism?

  • Did Deliveroo offer anything to the people in the council flats when they were locked down? Or what about other outbreaks in the poorer suburbs?

Or didn't it suit them to offer things like this back then because it was a different crowd?

If I owned shares in Deliveroo I would certainly NOT want them to treat all market demographics the same. The concept that everyone should be treated the same is ludicrous.
