Got excited thinking I could pick up a new Maxi Guard Pro for our second child due in March. Then I read the exclusions… :/

      Same position, quite disappointing.

      • Likewise. Although, while searching OB, I came across the following link for the Maxi Guard Pro. Definitely cheapest I can find at the moment but you have to participate in a clinical trial (which seems pretty easy). $439, then $100 cash back after 6 months.

So they increased the prices of some items and dropped them via the sale. Shady af.

Literally was looking at a britax unity neos car seat the 2 days ago and it was $299. Now it’s $299 on sale from $399.

Sorry op but I’m negging for this shady business practice.

Edit: comparing prices on prams, they’ve done this across the store. Isn’t this illegal?

    • That seat is a best buy

      Sale excludes best buy items

      • Have a look at their prams. They’re all marked up way beyond RRP and then discounted.

        • Not arguing that, that sounds dodgy.
Just noting that car seat isn't on sale.

        • Got some decent price on pram and car seat from the Black Friday sales, although they assigned courierplease to deliver my order which ruined the party. Overall, I am still satisfied.

How convenient that they exclude items that people actually want

    • Hi, i have a baby due in 6 months, looking to get a baby car seat for the newborn, any reason you prefer this britax unity neos over others? Thanks in advance :)

Hey mate! It’s confusing eh? I’ve been looking at things for a few weeks and we have decided to go for a redsbaby metro3 bundle which comes with the britax. Good price for what you get, good reviews from product review, same with a couple on YouTube (not many, prob cuz it’s an Aussie brand) and lots of features for the price.

Also, the britax is one of the only capsules that lasts 12 months. Most don’t go beyond 6 months.

We have a 9mo and have just gone through all of this. We bought a capsule which worked with our pram, this turned out to be a blessing as we didnt have to wake the little one to take him in and out of the car when he was asleep and much quicker transfer in/out of the car when raining.
We chose the Maxi Cosi Mico AP Plus (currently $250 on Amazon), it has a few frills that made life a bit easier for my wife. Removable/washable material, magnetic buckle holders to keep the belts to the sides when putting baby in the capsule (annoying for you and the little one when the belts are stuck under the baby and you have to dig them out. Upgrading to a seat is dependant on size (shoulder height) not age.
We've just upgraded out of the capsule and into a seat at 9.5 months old.

        • Yup totally agree with this

As for the 12 month measurement - it is simply rated to that. You’re right, it depends on how fast they grow.

    Negative vote, very shady pricing!

  • I thought they'd either jack prices or just not have stock of things people want to buy.

  • Price jack on stuff I'm looking at too, not cool.

  • Price jacking, unfair and shady :(

  • How do I change my vote?

  • Yikes, slammed on my first deal post! :( But agreed, if thats the case for the items you have seen, thats absolute crap. I recall the other month they were part of the 20% off ebay sale and then less than 24 hours later, they removed themselves.

Its not you everyone is slamming. It's baby buntings.

Sorry mate not on you, thanks for contributing. Would be a good sale if they didn’t price jack. You’ve at least shown me not to buy from these guys as they’re obviously dubious in their business practices.

  • Some items are actually on sale though. I've been eyeing the Stokke Tripp Trapp chair and right now, they're probably the cheapest i've seen in months.

They say they are a baby shop

    Yet they don’t sell babies

  • The best buy Nappies are on sale, nice to reduce by the $10 sign up voucher. Thanks!

    • 15% cashback from Shopback for tonight only , hurry up

I reported them to the ACCC. I have plenty of time WFH now and even in 2021 and happy to keyboard warrior with these shunky businesses.
Ripping mums and dads off is not cool.

    • Unfortunately not many major competitors in the baby market since Babies R Us went under. A real shame and customers end up losing

    • On ya mate. Fighting the good fight. Keep it up!

  • why bother offer 20 to 30% off if you are just gonna jack up the price and risking getting a complain? why not just give 5 to 10% off without jacking the price instead?
