    That’s an awesome concept

    • The temperature control they’ve managed to achieve on a charcoal barbecue is incredible. As soon as saw the concept, and the reviews, I wanted one.

      • The concept isn't that new (in the US anyway) the affordability is

  • I was about to pull the trigger (only to later get smoked by the missus) and then I read a number of reviews regarding faults and poor build quality:
    https://amazingribs.com/ratings-reviews/combination-grills-s…

Summary: “ In the short time since first publishing this review, we have encountered significant and disturbing quality issues with this product… The interior of the firebox at the bottom of the charcoal hopper has warped and buckled and appears to have rusted through … Additionally, with continued use, the fan that regulates air to the fire stopped working”.

I was hesitant also, but after searching a few facebook pages it seems most are very happy with it. And for $880 (9% off gift card through work) I'll take my chances.

      • Can you point me to some of the facebook pages you read to change your mind about this smoker?
I really want to buy some kind of gravity fed charcoal smoker, but the youtube reviews I've watched don't give me a lot of confidence with anything made by Masterbuilt.

There are a couple of mods that can be made to help the issues, but I am not sure how easy they are to get here.
        Shame Masterbuilt isn't providing these.

Yeah I saw the mods from LSS.
US$300+ plus US$250 to post the full mod kit to Aus is not what I had in mind.
Hopefully Masterbuilt will incorporate the mods into future versions of this smoker.
