Please note: This is an official product that is brand new stock but comes in non-retail packaging

    Hard pass.

    • Thanks for pointing that out.
      Whats that all about?

      • +3

I see no legit reason for it not being in a retail box. My guess is it’s refurbs or returns.

Who knows if it has official MS warranty.

        • +1

          Bundled with console originally?

It says direct import so may indeed only have Kogan warranty

I think worth it for me with Kogan points which I struggle to use

          • @daffyd: Nope, this controller has not been bundled with consoles

If you’re having trust problems, I feel bad for you son.
But this is a $49 controller, for an Xbox one

          It's obviously counterfeit.

The exactly the same counterfeit controller is going on eBay. Note how it says it comes in plain box only. This is screaming counterfeit. Even the Xbox One controller refurbs don't come in a plain box.

          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controll…

Official genuine Xbox One controllers come in retail cardboard box packaging unless of course if it's bundled with a console. But this controller model was not bundled with a console. It was retail only in retail packaging.

This deal got caught up as a being a counterfeit. As i said earlier why else would an Xbox One controller model which sold out ages ago suddenly reppear for dirt cheap and not only that claim to come in non retail packaging. Microsoft stopped manufacturing this model ages ago.

  • Same price on their eBay plus store if you are a Plus member, but shipping is not free. I cannot get free shipping on Kogan, so I figured it might be worth paying a little extra to get the newer Series X controllers with USB-C and a better D-pad

    • $72 from GGC

      • Have a link?

@hopper: So basically it's not $72 for every one. But only for those who have a commercial (business) account with TGG. Well that's absolutely useless for the vast majority of the public since they don't even have one of those account. You need a darn business account to obtain that price.

It's not $72 over the counter or on the online store at TGG available to every one. In that case it's of no good to us.

  • And it’s sold out

  • Are they compatible to PC?

    • +1

Yes bluetooth or Micro-USB judging by this revision.

  • ffs, ive been trying to get some more xb1 controllers for months now, but they never go cheap, and when they do, like this, I miss it, cause I'm sleeping!!

  • I'm questioning the legitness of this controller. As it's saying that it comes in non retail packaging. All legit genuine Xbox One controllers sold at stores come in retail packaging. I'm questioning whether this is actually a counterfeit controller unlike what Kogan is claiming that it's an official controller. Actually i'm pretty sure this must be a counterfeit Xbox One controller. There's no other reason why it would come in non retail packaging.

If it was a refurb then it would be saying refurbished in the product title like all the other refurb game controllers.

So i bet you that this is actually counterfeit. I've seen these same controllers listed on eBay which are counterfeit and also say that it comes in non retail packaging.

This is the very reason i didn't touch this with a 10 foot pople. It screams out counterfeit controller. Why else would an Xbox One controller model which sold out ages ago suddenly reappear on the Kogan store for dirt cheap.

I thought i would wait a month before i posted some feedback.

Purchased and received 2 controllers (one Patrol Tech Special Edition and one Sport White Special Edition) by 31-12-2020.

Both came in non retail packaging aka in a card board box with foam around it to protect it. Had plastic protective stickers all over both controlers that i had to peel off before use.

Both controllers work fine with both my Xbox Series X and Xbox One X.
Also tried out with my Android phone and tablet and works well with those too.

I cannot fault the controllers other than not being in a retail box. But then, again im not payin $90+ for each.

      thank you OP, great deal.

Yeah it may work with your Xbox consoles and Android. But it doesn't mean that it isn't a very good counterfeit. Even counterfeit controllers work with those consoles.

If it was not counterfeit then it would have come in the legit retail packaging. That's how all real Xbox controllers officially come (unless it's from a console box). And genune Xbox controllers don't come with plastic protective stickers all over it. Even the controllers from the console box don't have stickers on it.

So i'm afraid that yours is a very good convincing counterfeit. That is a fault in of itself. It fooled you thinking that it's genuine when it's not. That was not a great deal to receive a high quality counterfeit.

        • While you kept babbling on how these are definitely fake, you are not really providing any reasons as to why you think they're fake.

I found this website though http://www.detectafake.com/viewProduct/?269649

And I've checked everything they suggest in their site. Looks good to me. 👍

@metalhead: I did. The fact that it came in a plain cardbox box and also had stickers all over the controller indicates that it's a counterfeit. You only find genuine Xbox controllers made by Microsoft either in retail packaging or from a game console box with no stickers at all on the controller. Any thing else is non genuine.

And the fact that these are old limited edition model controllers which sold out ages ago. And how they suddenly got stock and supposedly came back and on sale too in a plain cardboard box at $49 each. Get real just think about it. I've yet to see a genuine Xbox One controller go on sale for $49 each. Microsoft never let their genuine Xbox One controllers go for cheap. Not genuine.

So don't be fooled into thinking that your controllers are genuine actually made by Microsoft. The counterfeiters have obviously fooled you with it. These controllers were not made by Microsoft at all. Made by a knockoff manufacturer however obviously a better quality knockoff.
