Reviews seem mixed, but overall not bad.

Although having them for $1 in he past doesn't fill me with confidence.

Although sounds like its pretty much just a strop.
Could probably do the same with some jeans/leather.

  Totally, calling it a 'sharpener' is complete rubbish. This is more about cleaning the blades and maybe pushing back some rolled edges

Strop razor after use on upper arm for 10 secs and I find even disposables last indefinitely (and I have tough stubble!!). I eventually throw them away when the lubricant band wears out .. :-) .. !!. So shaving costs me virtually nothing .. .. ……..
