for one sec I thought its a deal for g14

    • Isn’t G15 almost as good as G14?

      • Different size.

        • Other than size, any other major downsides?
          G14 are generally more expensive.

          • @congo: slower than 1660ti…………..

@bbcw1980: Huh? Isn't the RTX2060 better than the 1660TI all round? Generally RTX2060 models are always more expensivethan 1660TI

              • @crungle: Asus only feed it with 65w……. therefore runs slower than a full power version of 1660ti. From my memory, it is about 10fps slower on most AAA titles.

            • @bbcw1980: 2060 slower than a 1660ti? wot? Or is this a max q vs non max q comparison?

          • @congo: For me larger screen size is a benefit. I also like the keyboard layout on G15. (G14 doesn't have Home/End/PgUp/PgDn keys).
            G15 has an extra M.2 80 mm slot, G14 doesn't.

            • @doperst: Thanks. It too prefer the 15”
So this is better than G14

I'll ask in this post too. Which one is better -
    240hz Ryzen 9 4900H/RTX2060 512GB from Centrecom $1950
    or
    144Hz Ryzen 7 4800HS/GTX1660Ti 1TB from Newegg ~ $1820 delivered

Centrecom - better CPU and screen, local shipping.
Newegg - better GPU and bigger SSD, international shipping and no warranty..

      "240hz Ryzen 9 4900H/RTX2060 512GB from Centrecom $1950" by a mileee imo

      • May I ask why?

        • 2060 is a better gpu

        • plus warranty is pretty hugeee

The 1660Ti is not a better GPU than a 2060. Unless you're actually in need of a 1TB SSD (almost nobody actually is) the ONLY advantage to this option is that it's a little bit cheaper - but definitely not enough to be worth it.

        2060 here is with Max-Q
According to notebookcheck, it's less powerful than 2060, gaming performance is about 95% of 1660Ti

I do need 1TB, but I guess I can install a second SSD later.
Thanks, I think I'll buy the one from Centrecom.

RTX2060 is better than 1660Ti, I don't think the performance difference is much anyway.
I'd 100% go for Centrecom. Almost $2k, you'd definitely want local warranty and ACL rights

Ray tracing would be better on 2060 than 1660Ti

        • Ray tracing doesn't make any sense at 65w…. but i think it is worth it to get those additional vlog steaming functions with 2000 series.

I just want to press the button to pay the JB’s deal and saw this new deal

    • Intel vs AMD. Check out this review:
      https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-ROG-Strix-G15-G512LW-Lapt…
Looks like Intel cpu is running too hot in this laptop.
Also G15 is slimmer and lighter, that's why it costs more.

Your one is much better for gaming. 2060maxq vs 2070 max p

    • The CPU is weaker, but the GPU is better. If you're playing on the 1080p laptop screen, the GPU won't matter much anyway.

      • +2

Why won’t GPU matter when playing 1080p?
You should get higher frame rates for 2070?

    • I would choose Ryzen 9 over intel.

  • Thanks all

This RTX 2060 is the max-q version….and isn’t as good as a GTX 1660ti…according this this:

  • Received mine today. Does anyone know if removing the shields from vents will void the warranty in Australia?
