  • good for resolution and size at this price

  • That's a good price for a Vaio whats the catch, only available in pink?

    • Yeh, there's always a catch with sony, otherwise I"d be on it :(

    • No warranty in Oz :|

  • 13.3" @ 1600x900 a bit too small to read for me.

    • Yeah, I'm all for higher res screens but on 13.3" the majority of us (certainly with my my eyes) won't need anything above the normal 1366 x 768. Would love to see 1600x900 becoming the standard on 15" notebooks though!

If you can use higher res on a 13.3" notebook this is a good deal.

      • You're aware you can quite easily increase the fonts on the higher res display and its like nothing changed? Just means you get a crisper (near identical) screen real estate.

On a more related note, has anyone ever confirmed Sony will honour global warranty without any hassle?

  • Do you guys think this would be okay for medium gaming?

  • Good buy. Bought my 15inch Vaio with Intel i3 for $1299 just over a year ago, so for this laptop at this price it's pretty good.

  • AMD Radeon HD 6630M VS NVIDIA GT 540M, which one is better?

    • The 540M wins across the board. This card is more comparable to a 525M

  • Anyone buy it from this site before? how does warranty etc work since this seems to be a US company, will we get AUS warranty?

Can someone confirm if this screen is glossy or anti-glare? it seems the site says anti-glare but I have seen conflicting info on the web.

I am quite keen for this deal, also there will be no import tax charged is that right?

    • Many people have bought from these guys, here and on Whirlpool (checkout the thread there for the Viao S series). No import tax as under $1000 landed. Glossy/anti-glare you'll have to ask the seller, I believe they've got both options available some places.

Warranty I'm not entirely sure, as Sony usually offers global warranty. Perhaps call Sony Australia and ask them?

  • The resolution on this thing is drool worthy… So glad to see something higher than 1366 x 768 for ONCE!!!

    • +1

Don't forget the backlit keyboard and form factor.
