AirAsia Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur: $149 One-Way, Connect to Loads of Other AU & Seasia Routes

360

AirAsia has today dropped the price of flights from Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur flights in April 2012 to $149 one-way, and $263 return.

Sure you might say, that's great if I live on the Gold Coast and want to get to Kuala Lumpur, but otherwise so what?

But thanks to Adioso's route-builder, this discount, in addition to a whole heap of discounts in SE Asia by AirAsia and also within Australia by Jetstar and others, means there are loads of great savings from several Australian cities to many SE Asian destinations.

Here are the best deals in order of % discount:

You can be alerted by email whenever fares drop to within your budget by completing the "Find out when prices drop" form at the bottom of each results page on Adioso.

Happy travels…

Does anyone understand the reasoning behind so many routes departing from the Gold Coast?

    • Most of those routes are to Air Asia destinations, so you fly to the hub, KL, then transfer to another Air Asia flight.

    • Its actually a single route to KL? with onward flights?

      cheap airport access.

Correct. Sydney is the most expensive to land at - thanks Macquarie :(

    • oh ok, I see what you guys mean now lol

    • Malaysian Gov won't let Airasia fly Syd-Kul, in an attempt to shield Malaysian Airlines from competition.

      • In another recent AirAsia deal a commenter said they have clearance to start Sydney flights some time in 2012. A recent stock deal between AirAsia and Malaysian Airlines could have something to do with it. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

  • thanks for the heads up!
still waiting for melb route, pls air asia!

If you search AirAsia one way, there's a heap of flights from KL to GC for $56 (exc taxes). Air Asia depends on you booking return fairs and bump up those prices some what.

Great work Tom & Fenn. Love the service you provide!

  • Sydney to Kuala Lumpur (dropped:$108, now: $198)
???since when they fly to SYD?

    [edit]
got ya, it picks up Jetstar transit via GC

  • You can always take the shuttle bus from Brisbane to Gold Coast if the airport is too far. Its about $80 return for the shuttle bus

    • Train & bus to terminal with GoCard: $12.88(adult peak) $6.44(child/conc peak)
      eg for 21:25pm flight: (Roma St) 4.56pm - 6.55pm or 5.17pm - 7.25pm

  • Does it apply during easter break?

Might think to do weekend away in Asia.:p

lol, do it if it does, I have a few times in the past. Funny how it's cheaper to have a awesome long weekend in Asia than in our own 'backyard'.

  • I just booked 1/04/12 Gold Coast to Kuala Lumpur and 15/04/12 return for $149 to and $99 return.

Thanks for the heads up AdiosoTom. Saved me about $200 on fares I almost bought yesterday.

Guys from Perth I thought I would let you know. I managed to get Jetstar to price beat both flights to and from bali with luggage.

Worked out to be $240 including luggage return through Jetstar.

  • Awesome heads up mate. I booked this fare last night and it cost me around $370 return. This included the 'bells and whistles' such as meals, heavier luggage, seat selection (no insurance). The only fee that really offended me was the $10 surcharge (per person!) for using my credit card although I was paying it all in one hit. I mean come on… but hey, I suppose I'm saving heaps already and Jetstar also charges that fee.

    • Great to hear! Yeah they always seem to find a way to sting you somewhere. It's justifiable on one level as the credit card charges are calculated as a percentage of the total, but they could be more transparent about it.

      Have a great trip!

  • Booked flights from Gold Coast to Phuket in June for $365 rtn!! Thanks heaps guys :)
