Got mine… decent card to be honest, it’s nice and compact for ITX

    • Hey how do you find it? Is it noisy?

      • Fans can spin up a lot under load but not too loud

        • Thanks, good to know cheers

        • I find it is slightly louder than my 3 fan 1070 under load, but the only thing that seems to have really pushed it that far is Cyberpunk.

      • Not so much…. no complaints from me in a RVZ-03 case.
16,636 3d mark GPU score seems decent

        • Thanks for that.

          • @Movember20: Mine's in a bitfenix prodigy, you can hear it but it's not what i would consider a loud card.

    • Agreed! Despite it being a 2 fan card, it performs really well for the games I play and it runs Cyberpunk a looootttt better than my laptop 1060 ever could!

      • +1

It’s not the fans that count.. it’s how you use them.
For something like the 3070 which isn’t a as high TDP as a 3080 or 3090… it can be just fine with good ventilation

  • +2

though this will be sold out in minutes from now…still waiting on 3080 so that I don't have to think about it for years.

    • +7

Still in stock at the moment. At this price, happy to let people skip ahead of me in the queue.

    • you can choose to block it out of your mind now and in 6 months time you will be pleasantly surprised with a deal

Still waiting for my mystery 3070 to be shipped from shopping express from the Boxing Day sales lol. hopefully a 3 fans…

    • You must have been quick, it sold out within a minute.

      • Hope they don’t cancel my order though, for shopping express I heard many negative feedback… will see

Hearing that Nvidia Lovelace is slated for a 2021 release and should be significantly more efficient and powerful than Ampere was to Turing, along with the insane GPU pricing these days is making me hold onto the 1070 till the 4xxx series.

    • Heard that Nvidia Ultra Series is being released in the future and should be hugely more powerful than anything we have ever dreamt of.

    • I hear ya and on the same boat with 1070. Sadly, from the sounds of stocks and price normalizing, 2021 wouldn't be that far away…

    • Yes, every 12 months we usually get faster hardware. It's been a weird decade as first AMD stumbled then Intel and Nvidia.

With chiplet designs around the corner, perceived competition form mobile designs, all three of the majors flushed with cash from what the current market will bear and more competition in the lithography space with traditionally memory manufacturers moving into logic, it is pretty safe to bet we will see annual 20% rises in performance for the next three years.

    • It won't be cheaper though.

Nvidia is currently on 8nm, rather than the industry cutting edge of 7nm. They are getting their 8nm production at a significant discount as it is essentially old tech, a refresh on 7nm will be more powerful and more efficient, but expect 2000 series price / performance to return

If you have managed to wait this far, you may as well wait another month or two for the stocks to catch up to demand, and maybe even for the rumoured 3080Ti 20GB and 3060 12GB to show up.
That combo is sure to bring down prices if it happens.

Stock catching up is not a matter of "if" though, only a matter of "when". More and more scalper Aussie retailers are struggling to sell these 3070's at $1000, so it's already happening. Remember when everything was OOS everywhere? That's not the case anymore. Cbf looking through every retailer but here are some to name a few:

      PLE: https://www.ple.com.au/Search/3070
      Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=RTX+3070
      Scalper Express: https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/search-results?q=3070

The plan was to maybe wait until next EOFY, grab a 3080 cheaper when the 3080Ti comes out. Then I bought Cyberpunk 2077 and even though it's playable and fun with my 980, I certainly wasn't awestruck by the graphics all on low.

        • If Cyberpunk 2077 is literally the ONLY game you have in mind, I can't justify someone paying the scalper premium to buy a graphics card now. Maybe if you have money to throw away, or if you are planning to earn money with it. At least wait until CD Projekt are done with optimising everything -why buy an expensive graphics card for a poorly optimised game, that is surely going to reduce the quality of your experience?

I might have given you different advice if the card RRP's were around $400~$500 for mid-range like it was for the GTX series, but now? I can't. I just can't.

I would stick to your original plan as prices would definitely be reasonable by EOFY 2021.

      • +3

Suspect the 3080Ti variant will probably cost closer to the $2k mark (just as the 6900xt)

        • +4

          Yeah probably.

Doesn't really matter too much what the actual price of the 3080 Ti is though.

As long as it exists, demand will scatter along the 3080, 3080 Ti, 3090. So it will help with the prices to fall eventually.

          • @Outsider: Yep that'll come in due course anyway as supply catches up with demand.

          • @Outsider: Does not matter what the names are of the graphic cards, it's the Wafer that matter, and currently everyone is scurring to get them: AMD, NVIDIA, APPLE.

So the wait can go on for another 2-4 Month.

            Prices coming down 3-6 month.

      • Nothing with double VRAM is going to be relatively affordable. You're looking at a doubling of VRAM costs, which at retail would work out to be about USD $80-$150 for GDDR6 SKUs.

      • This comment is giving me the strength to hold on. Thank you.

      • What will be a good price for 3080. Willing to wait till Mar or Apr but still unsure of what is a decent price for this..

    • +1

yeah, id wait for 12g + card TBH, you seem to hang on the cards for few years instead of throw cash each year - so you might as well wait few more months and see what 3080ti will be like, im on 1080ti and its still runing games pretty good, no need for upgrade but if 3080 goes down to this price i will take it

      • I would concur, if you are holding out for 4K with good performance than 8Gb memory just isn't enough. And a 1080ti can still play anything at 1080p.

  • +1

I didn't take up the offer last time, same goes with this. If they're willing to lower their margin by dropping the price to $799, I may be tempted.

  • +1

Surprised this isn't already sold out. This is the best 3070 deal I have seen recently, by far…

    • one reason I can think is that it has only 2 fans other reason not powerful enough as compare to 2080 super etc
personally I am waiting for 3080

  • evga 3060ti ftw3 (3 fans) or this zotac 3070?

    • Here's a review comparing the two.

    • +1

You can consider eVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra 8GB for $70 more.

      • i posted on behalf of my bro. he already preordered the evga ftw3 3060ti and was just wondering whether it was worth getting this 3070 zotac instead since it is readily available. he has chose to stick with the 3060ti

  • +6

Close but still a bit too much for a two fan model. I think we can get $850 for two fan models in the next month or so and then maybe down to 830ish after that. Not sure they'll go much lower than 830ish for a while though, not until the 3070 Ti is released and in good stock levels is my guess.

  • +5

Jesus, I've upgraded from a 970 to this card and went from 30fps to 95fps @ultrawide 4k max settings 0.0 (no overclock on either)

    • interesting.. i"m curious as to which game?

      • +1

        Ark survival evolved

  • $799 seems like the right price (tell me I'm dreamin)

    • +1

no your right, people are so desperate right now that they will pay extra for a low end model like this.
Firstly Zotac is already shit and 2nd its a 2 fan lol for $900 wtf.
Wait till February and everything should start to get back to normal. When people won't pay 3070 price for 3080. (not talking about this one, but I've seen heaps of 3070 at around $1100 which is just stupid but people still buy it so whatever)

    • this card - should be even less

  • i just regret buying the 3060ti…

    • +1

Don't, the 3070 isn't much faster than the 3060ti at all.

I went with this only because the 3060ti pricing was in the "close enough" range that I accepted the hit and no 3080's could be had. In an RRP world the 3070 makes no sense, in inflated world where the 3080 is $450+ more expensive and the 3060ti is only $100 less, it farts by as a pass.

  • Scorptec have been awesome to deal with. Got a zotac 3080 on a Thursday and received it on Monday via express post. Stocked with them. Been ordering my business gear through them too and so quick.

    • +1

Yeah they’re good until something goes wrong then they’re absolute flogs. My mate had an issue with his PSU in a system built and sold by Scorptec, still under warranty. Took him 8 weeks to get his computer back after threatening consumer affairs action and spamming their social media pages.

Even then they didn’t even install the new PSU for him! I have no doubt he wouldn’t have seen his computer for at least another month if he didn’t force their hand and opt to just install it himself.

This company is great when taking your money but just hope for you that nothing goes wrong because they have terrible after sales service. Oh and they charge $49 just to take a look at a warranty claim which you then have to remind them to refund after your claim is legitimate. Food for thought.

  • Thank you!! Finally scored one after missing out on at least 3 deals posted here previously.

Just bought two RTX 3080 today! … Probably gonna sell one

Has anyone tried running this on a 550w psu?
