  • Gotta admire the optimism of people here but it’s Telstra…

    • Or we could just not be greedy when it's a clear mistake.

    • +3

Geez, if entitlement only has different levels, you’d be on top already

    • +1

Lol, reporting them for a price error for not honouring it in a store where they give us loyalty points for “free” this is a new one!

    • +7

According to who? I haven't had my points credited back. Don't tell me you hit up the online chat to see if your order has been shipped?

      • +2

Surely no one would be that stupid

        • You'd be suprised, was someone in the other JBL deal that did it. FFS

    • We aren’t even 24 hours into the new year and you have to hand in your OzBargainer card!

    • What? You somehow think that talking to Telstra is going to make it happen? Fn lol…

    • +3

No one, not one, is saying that by not talking to Telstra the order still won't get cancelled. What talking to them does however is increase the (possibly already high) likelihood that the orders will get cancelled. No one is angry about it if it gets cancelled, we are all acutely aware it's a long shot, made even longer by contacting Telstra about it. Well except maybe the guy wanting to go to the ACCC, but he's an extreme OzBargainer compared to Amateur Hour over here!

Time to hand in your OzBargain card though champ!

      • +1

Another one, sigh no common sense.

    • +4

Hey mate, you see the recent posts about people receiving their phones 😂 You have egg on your face lol

  • -4

    Order canceled.

    • +1

Still alive here and $ on credit card pending

      • +1

My pending payment has been authorised and charged now.. I want to believe..

        • +1

We all still believers! Mine is charged now too.

  • -1

    Any updates for order?

    • Yeah @siu_loong_bau has an order update:

All orders have been cancelled; apparently…

  • +2

Come on.. who expected their orders to go through.. hand in you ozbargain cards now…

      • +1

Nah the negs were because you insinuated you contacted Telstra like a right ol dork!

        • -8

Why would I be contacting them? I bloody ordered like the rest of you sheep…

          • @[Deactivated]: Us* sheep

          • @[Deactivated]: How did you know that "all orders have been cancelled, apparently" then??? Someone's telling porky pies…

            • +1

@wombat81: Wonder how he's coping today

              • @MBix: I've been wondering the same thing.
What happened to all orders being cancelled?

  • +18

@siu_loong_bao You're clearly trolling. If you truly believed that there was 0% chance of happening, why would you even bother to order and subsequently comment on this thread?

Expecting and hoping are two different things. Apart from a miniscule number of people, I don't think anyone is expecting it to go through. I do think people are hoping that a miracle happens, either in the form of Telstra honouring this or in the form of their order slipping through the cracks. Crazy things like this have happened before, albeit rarely. This really isn't that different to playing the lottery or participating in some of the eBay Plus sales. Odds are stacked against you, but it could possibly happen, no matter how slim the chances are. The only way to guarantee a 0% chance is by not participating.

You might want to consider the fact that some of the negs you've received are based on your tone and language, more than your actual message.

I think there is hope! Mine just got delivered today morning! It did ship out on the 31st though, sometime in the arvo (before it went OOS) and I do live in Sydney metro, maybe that helped out? The tracking was really weird though, it went out from Greenacre towards Sydney and the tracking said going back to Greenacre (on Sunday) so assumed it was getting recalled, but then a startrack guy buzzed my door and lo and behold it was the phone :O.

      • Wow. Congrats. Let's see how many hopes and dreams can be crushed now…

        • How many people have already contacted them coz Kuro has his and they don’t have theirs :D

      • +2

Did you by any chance receive an order confirmation by email/SMS? I only received an invoice receipt so far.

        • +3

I got an invoice receipt but then I got a "Great news! Your package is on the way" email from Telstra. Honestly didn't expect it to come through

          • -3

@kuro5625: I’m afraid that still means very little. See the earbuds thread were peoples orders were reversed when the package was already with a courier.

            • +2

@bozbargain: Means a fair bit when he's received the item though haha

            • @bozbargain: Don't think for the JBL headphones people got the second email. Just tracking info. Seems to be playing out differently this time.

      • +3

        Miracles DO happen!

      • Interesting! What time did you get your order issued?

        • +3

It was around 3.15pm on the 31st

          • @kuro5625: Nice, looks like you got in early!

          • +1

            @kuro5625: Mine was 2:52pm. Fingers crossed…

          • @kuro5625: I ordered mine at 3.15pm too but didnt get a second email with tracking. Its going to be a looong week.

            • @jaj024: Yeah i haven't got a second email either. Not hopeful.

          • @kuro5625: So weird… I've placed my order before you and still haven't receive the tracking number, yet.

            I've placed my order at:

            Issued on:
            31/12/2020 15:04:15

            • @yolow: Are you sure you're talking about same time zones?

              • +1

@thefinalproblems: Never mind, I read jaj024's comment above and got confused for kuro5625. Its one of those morning where I'm still sleepy! lol.

                I'm referring to Sydney/Melbourne time btw :)

      • Congrats Kuro. Lucky.
I still have hope. Slim hope but it's still there. I don't have a tracking number yet though.

        • Yeah really lucky, fingers crossed you guys get it as well

      • Congrats mate, hell of a score.

      • Did your email gives an ETA? Mine just says "We'll start working on your order and contact you to clarify details if required. Due to COVID-19 impacts, we're experiencing delays on some orders. We apologise for the inconvenience."

        • I have an exactly same email. So I have 1% doubt that Kuro5625 is just playing up….

          • @pyramid: Lol that 1%. Nah I would definitely not want to play this up,l. I got two emails the first was just the receipt which showed the points deduction, the second was an email with a tracking link. Within that link was a startrack page which said ETA 04/01. I just think I got lucky.

            • @kuro5625: Thanks man for that…..Enjoy your new phone and rest of us will be holding our breath….

        • That's just a confirmation of order e-mail. He's talking about the one that comes after, when it progresses to next stage.

          • @thefinalproblems: Yes and I'm just wondering if his order confirmation says otherwise hence he got his order today.

        • Mine says the same. No other communication from them yet other than that confirmation email and my points are still gone from my account.
          I ordered at 4:17pm on the 31st.

          • @oison: I ordered on 2.36pm on 31st.

          • @oison: Yeah I ordered at 2:56pm. Only that email and nothing else. Points still gone.

          • @oison: Same here. Ordered at 4:17pm. Will advise if any progress.

      • Does your order number come up in this tracker? https://ordertracker.telstra.com.au/

Did you pay with points only or points + cash?

      • +8

I 100% believe Kuro! Just got mine recently!

It has been a nail biting weekend, hoping and praying that this came through. Was disappointed that I missed out on the Alcatel tablet and JBL headphones, but boy o boy am I glad that if only one miracle could happen, it was this one!

Got same second e-mail as Kuro and shipping was uploaded on Thursday afternoon.

        I believe now! Lol.

Will upload pictures for evidence later.

        • Can you confirm what time and date you placed order and how you paid so others can see if they are sending it based on time? And or how it was bought? Thanks.

          • +2

@enjunuet: Stumbled across this randomly and bought on Thursday before deal published. Spent a bit of time trying to figure out if I was missing something (I.e. if it was a listing for a case or one month free of a phone contract) and then flaffed around a bit more trying to find ID. In short, there are almost certainly people who ordered before me.

Was surprised I got shipping notification a few hours after ordering. Even more surprised when it continued to move from Sydney, but thought it would get stopped at Green Acres as per previous posts. Nothing happened from Thursday at around 4pm ish until 2am this morning. Almost had a heart attack when it moved to onboard for delivery. From what I've read online, that's the point where it's hard for companies to redirect packages.

Was a mix of points and cash.

            I'm in QLD .

            • @thefinalproblems: Congratulations man, that's an awesome get. I wonder if Kuro did points + cash too and that helped out.

Out of curiousity how on earth are y'all just stumbling across these sorts of "errors" in the Telstra Plus Store - do they show as hot offers?

              • @MBix: For me I started by looking to see if they had posted the JBL headphones listing yet and then moved on to looking for other things that I could use points on. Just sheer luck I guess. When I saw it, it wasn't under hot offers or anything like that, but it was under new rewards.

                • +1

@thefinalproblems: haha, they still haven't put the JBL headphones back on there yet either. Good times!

        • +14

Evidence. Purposefully folded shipping slip as it had info that I didn't want to publish. http://imgur.com/gallery/AsUNT9d

  • +7

I'm in Melbourne and just got my shipping/tracking email 10mins ago. Hoping it goes through…

    • What time did you place your order?

      • +3

Order confirmation received on 31/12 at 3:34pm - only found out about this because of this post.

        • Is that when the order confirmation hit your inbox? I noticed that the invoice issued time in the body of the email was off by 1 hour (I'm in Syd).

          • @lolcoaster: You're right - the issued time is 1 hour before I got it in my inbox which doesn't make sense as this deal wasn't posted until after 3pm.

            • @ragnaboy2010: Seems whatever system they're working on is running on AEST and not daylight savings time as mine says 2:56pm when I got the email 12:56PM Perth time

          • @lolcoaster: Mine is the same. Email came in at just after 4pm but the confirmation time inside the body of the email states just after 3pm. Im in Syd too. No shipping email for me yet.
I've been on the edge of my seat all day checking. I also checked the tracking based off my order numbers but it doesn't show anything.
            Fingers are still crossed.
Where is that Telstra employee that said they will all get cancelled?

  • Just out of curiosity, what is the point value of Telstra Plus vs monetary comparison?

    • +2

about 100 Telstra plus points to 1 Schrute buck

  • +5

    Just received mine.
Ordered earlier than most. 9am in Syd. Current phone is slowly dying and been planning on a screen replacement ($380 yikes) , so this new one is a blessing.

Good luck to the rest of you.

  • Is it at all possible that page went down due to being out of stock rather than Telstra intentionally taking it down?

    • +1

Unlikely. There are plenty of other items that are still listed but are "out of stock".
