        • I didn't know this either, thanks for the tip.

    • +1

This is the single fastest avenue to ensure they identify the error.

      • They will always catch on, and cancel before it's shipped. At least you have a chance if them just following the system and letting you walk out the door

  • Missing 850 points for the lucky dip. Damn.

    • Pay the difference. Still works out cheap if honoured.

  • Where can i get 5000 points lol..

    • +1

Can transfer points from friends or family I believe. Or pay $500 on your account

      • $500 on your account wouldn't work as it's just credit, unless you rack up $500 bill to match.

        • I often overpay my bills by a dollar or two because my brain can’t handle the numbers not being rounded and the extra points add. Maybe I’m just “lucky”

          • @MBix: Or maybe I'm just 'unlucky'.
I had a little over $1k in credit in my account since the first month (bit of a long story but sold off a device and proceeds just went straight to a plan it was attached).
Easier to just not have to worry about another bill.

Never received a nice lump sum of points, always just credited monthly as my credit is deducted.

A few weird errors on there today - like the Galaxy Buds+, usually 70,000 now on special for 101,000!

I see Telstra has been taking math lessons from Verizon.

  • damn only got 4542 telstra points… oh well still happy with my 5 google nests and 2 google hubs lol

    • I am considering buy google nest hub. Do you have any feedback

      • +1

I mainly just use it as a photo frame although given the 2k+ in my album, for some reason it seems to only cycle through maybe 50-60 of them with the occasional odd ball.

        • Thanks

          • @DiLs: but yeah depending on what you want to use it for, it's a solid product.

            • @[Deactivated]: I use it mainly as a photo album but has speakers and use it to play music and turn lights on/off similar to the google mini. Wife uses a nest hub in the kitchen for recipes which is another use.

              • @other guy: Yeah if you have smart devices it's good too but nothing a mini can't do and I find the sound of the 2nd gen mini is much better. It's 100% the photo frame for me haha

              • @other guy: I never understand receipe in the kitchen, never taste or look like the front page

      • Mine is pretty much a photo frame and timer in the kitchen. It is nice to just ask it to set a timer but it can do a lot more like ask it to play music or just ask a question that you would normally Google.

  • Did you get one snid before sharing the deal with us?

  • +4

Snagged the mystic green. Fingers crossed it turns ip

    • +1

I think pricing errors are totally legal.. the Good Guys consistently posting price errors (especially when it was for the same product - nintendo switch lites) however seems like illegal practice to me

    • +2

Assume it’s similar Australia wide but in QLD a retailer has the right to rectify a genuine pricing mistake and is under no obligation to honour the pricing error.

    • +7

This has been discussed to death but from what I understand, the price you pay is your offer to the business to purchase the product. At that point the contract of the sale is not yet complete and so the business is well within their rights to reject your offer. Essentially 'cancelling' the sale contract

So yes if it's a genuine price error the retailer can just say it's a price error and refund you

Of course if it's bait switching or intentional false advertising then those are different cases

      • +2

Advertised price is an invitation to treat.

      • Genuinely curious though, at what point though does the contract become complete? There seems to be things online about postal and receipt rules.

        • I reckon when we have it in our hot little hands

    • Pretty sure you can make claims like this in stores.

  • +2

I just got off chat with them to confirm my tracking and to see if it gets shipped. They said price error and will cancel everyone's order. Just kidding guys please don't stab me

    • +2

Bwahahaha maybe don't lead with you got off chat.. . Some people won't read everything you wrote and will jump the gun and contact chat too or neg you prematurely!

    • Haha you got me

    • Na we'll leave you alone, with humour like that you'll probably never make it back from the local next time….

    • +3

You’re just lucky there is no knives on OzB today

  • Funny too see they keep having such error labelling. Must be an easy job heh

  • ah, I just signed up with Telstra, got 0 points :/

  • LOL either someone is stupid to forget an extra 0 at end or someone is deliberately doing it for some sadistic fun.

    • maybe Telstra doing it purposely to boost their figures for 2020 !?!?

  • i hope they honor it :D

  • +2

Guys if it gets dishonered then go to live chat and request some sort of compensation.

    Milk that stone dry

  • Can anyone send me 63 points? 🙄

    • Unfortunately with Telstra transferring points is very complex process. You need to contact customer service (chat/phone), provide all info and then they will initiate. The actual transfer could take upto 2 weeks to complete :(

  • $1100 phone. They've refunded and cancelled orders b4

  • +3

Unlimited stock >2500 clicks and counting. No chance

    • -4

$2.5m of phones from a multi billion $ company…they can afford it

      • Not sure the shareholder's would share the same opinion

      • +2

Remind me never to go into business with you

  • +2

    The page is gone now.

    • -1

They will honour all the ones that were brave enough to take the plunge just beforehand.

      • +1

Lol. Not according to last time

      • hahahaha

      • Zero chance of that

      • It's a little late for Xmas miracles.

  • Are you better off using 5k + $89 or the full 31k?

    • Probably the full points, when they decide to cancel you wont have to wait for a $$ refund.

    • -8

      6 phones. i.e. 30k points + $534 lol

      • +7

Anyone who did this is a bad person, sorry.

  • +3

Pulled the trigger, probably get shot in the foot…lol
Happy New Year anyway fellow OzBargainers

  • Went all the way through then page died

    • +1

Same except deducted the points still lol

      • Good luck lol

    • +2

I send my condolences for Paige

  • +3

But this is not snapdragon :) who cares if this is honored

    • Ignore the downvotes, dude. I got the joke.

  • +5

Given how they dealt with https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/591584

Wouldn't expect anything but email and refund.

  • nooooo
How could I miss the fun!

  • So how long does it take for the email to say that it was a pricing error?

    • After the long weekend. (Tomorrow’s NY)

    • +1

Wait till someone contacts Telstra to verify if it is a price error, then all orders will be canceled

For gods sake so not contact them

      • Oh it's already done you can bet on that haha

  • +1

Wait for someone contact online chat to check their order and then you should all know what will happen later.

  • I know Telstra employees frequent ozbargain. Can we delete this post?

    • +2

Former Telstra employee. Would have ordered it lol.

  • thanks, ordered one

  • +1

dunt even wanna try. Telstra cancelled my last order not even noticing me. LOL GOOD LUCK BOYS

  • Ordered one. Let's see what will happen..

    • Given that you've been a member here for about 10 yrs like I have, we both know what will happen….

BUT - we both know that there is always a slight chance…..

"You've got to be in it to win it".

ps - I don't have Telstra points and didn't see this deal until now… but good luck to you and everyone else!!

      • +1

The tablets they honoured gives everyone hope, but seems they've tightened up their procedures since then. AKA - they know how to call Startrack and claw deliveries back :D

        • +1

I feel that they should tighten their procedures to a point where they stop making these mistakes, eventually it no longer becomes reasonable for them to call accident every single time they keep screwing up.

          • +2

@Jimbuscus: I totally agree. A company like Telstra have no real excuse for making these mistakes continually. It wastes everyone’s time. I can’t complain too heavily because I scored the tablet the first time around and some how got a $149 bill credit for the JBL Ear Buds, but really how they keep managing to screw things up is laughable.

  • +14

dang the one day where I don’t compulsively refresh ozbargain every 5 min…

    • You snooze you lose

    • Too true. Isn’t it always the way?

  • -6
  • Will get cancelled
All TPlus orders get manually placed by someone and not automatic afaik

    • +3

How do these errors keep happening?

      • Any pricing changes are done manually, most likely just human error

Once an order is placed, it creates a task for a human to fulfill, so they can cancel and refund when it gets to that stage

        • So, the pricing changes are done manually and can result in human error.

Then the task has to be completed, and a human can either cancel or just accept it.

From one human to another - this seems like a totally foolproof process, and I look forward to seeing you on future telstra threads!!! lol

    • Would error happen again during this 'manual' process

    • Does all TPlus deals get manually added by someone or automatic ?

      • +2

Dude, it was a clear error. Assuming you get refunded you've lost nothing except 2 minutes of your time. The ACCC will have absolutely no interest in looking at this. It has nothing to do with the TIO. Move on.

      • Pigeon English gives me a headache.

  • Eagerly awaiting the results of this…

  • likely similar to the earbuds incident :( they were on for 13,000 but actually worth 130,000 points. They cancelled my order. If they're unwilling to even give out the earbuds then it's unlikely they'll give out this. Fingers crossed though.

    • True. Think this one has been much quieter. Not much news about confirmation emails and shipping.

Still I guess, incredibly slim chance is better than 0.

      • +1

I think because of the public holiday today, shipping didn't get processed like it did last time.
