What's that sound? Oh it's CR scrambling to delete the amaysim cashbacks

    • +1

Would be an additional $35 saving if your allowed to combine it with Amaysim discount. My boost plan expires early Feb so convenient.

  • Was $100 last sale.

  • Probably been answered elsewhere, but with this being on the Optus network does it give access to Optus Sport either as standard, or as a discount?

    • +2

Nah, just like other MVNOs using Optus network (CatchConnect…).

      • Cheers - suspected it would be the case. Also presume you can't port an Optus number to the Amaysim sim directly? Would need to go via another provider in between? Any idea how long you have to port out before porting back to Optus network or have I got that wrong? Am just getting some research done for the in-laws who are potentially looking to move over to a new plan - one already with Optus, the other Vodafone. Cheers if you have any input.

        • +1

Shouldn't have any issues porting from Optus.

Kogan requires around 30d inbetween for new customer deals I believe. Never heard of anyone else putting limits.

  • can't find the info, but when do we have to activate this by? looking for one of this but still got 30 days left in my current plan

  • Does anyone know when we have to activate\port over by ?

  • I'm guessing it doesn't include VoLTE?

    • +2

Yeah, N/A. Even it was mentioned that Optus offered VoLTE to MVNOs, it’s only for postpaid, I reckon.

      • The MVNO has to decide to activate it. It's possible to even be device based activation only… There is a way to hide device ID with a bunch of digits that may be able to help.

Other people have found if they had postpaid Optus (or voda) and switched to a prepaid deal instead, their extra network features stayed active. YEMV

    • For what?

    • Too hard to read a description?

      • +1

This guy comments the same in every SIM deal posted.

        • Blimmin' 'eck! She really does.

        • Lol that's embarrassing

  • for info, looks like must activate by 31st Jan from t and c

"Valid for redemption until 11.59pm (AEDT) on 31 January 2021"

  • Is cashback valid?

    • +1

Yup, but remember to activate it within 30 days.

      • Thank you so much, appreciate it

i got my inlaw a woolworths prepaid long life sim. uses telstra 4g network and the best thing is I get 10% off shop each month. Plan is $12.50/month but i save $15-$18 each month from my grocery.

    • For 1 shop every month, right?

      • +1

yes only 1 shop every month. my avg grocery for a family of 5 is $160- $200

        • May i ask if the 10% is applied directly upon payment? Or is it a cashback of some sort?
Just want to know the logistics of it eg, scan a barcode you get every month? Cheers

          • +1

@p-plater: Directly. When you scan your Everyday Rewards card, it will ask if you wanna apply the 10% off.

            • @hawkeye93: The terms and conditions state that it's applied to the first shop of the month each time. Presumably they can only detect which is your first shop if you scan your rewards card, but your post suggests you can choose which is pretty interesting.

              • +1

@smifter: It can be any day I reckon. So you may save it for the shop you think you would spend the most.

    • Thanks for this. I was able to get $20 cashback as well https://www.cashrewards.com.au/woolworths-mobile for the $150 365 days 100GB plan

      • Is it still valid if we also claim the $10 referral Wish GC later?

        • Hi, sorry not sure about this.

  • Is the cashback from shopback—- Unlimited 120GB/125GB Mobile Plan $17.00 one?

Does anyone know is it enough time to get delivered if my phone plan ends on 15th Jan?

    • +1

Yup, that’s the one. CR was $35 yesterday but has been reduced back to $0. LOL.

  • Catch Connect is $120 for 120GB

  • What's the best low data, unlimited call & text?

I basically just use about 2gb a month (strava, socials, messaging) and am looking to save. Right now im with amaysim 2gb / 28 days

    • +4

      My suggestions:

      • Catch Connect (Optus): 60GB data for 365 days. Cost: $89. Link to offer
      • Coles Mobile (Optus): 60GB data for 365 days, Intl Calls to 15 countries. Cost: $99. Link to offer

      For a bit more data:

      • Catch Connect (Optus): 120GB data for 365 days. Cost: $120. Link to offer
      • Coles Mobile (Optus): 120GB data for 365 days, Intl Calls to 15 countries. Cost: $150. Link to offer
      • Cheers!

FYI Cash Rewards now offer $25 cashback for the Amaysim 120GB 365 prepaid ($120 after cashback in few months time).

Cannot predict whether Amaysim will keep the $200 recharge in 2022 or reduce it remain competitive with Coles.

      • Amaysim is back to cashback platforms, but the plans on them do not match the plans on the official website.

        • And the cashback amounts are dropped drastically too, I see?

          • @djoz: $3 for 50GB after cashback is not bad. CR made it clear today.

            • @Neoika: Ah, ok, i meant for Shopback.

              • @djoz: $1 for 50GB after cashback. Just need a bonus offer to be profitable…

                • @Neoika: As per me, Shopback has stuffed it up again.
Unlimited 50GB Mobile Plan ($8.00 Cashback on Shopback) is not the $9 plan on offer you see on amaysim website. ($ 9 for 30GB 50GB)
It is the $40 plan (now on offer at $12). So essentially it is $12 - $8 = $4 for 50GB. More so, I am not sure if cashback will be honoured as the plan is already on offer.

Shopback always mentions the original plans (not the ones on offer). To ensure you are getting both benefits, i.e. Amaysim offer + Correct Cashback, it has to be mentioned in the Coupons / Discounts tabs on Shopback.

          • @djoz: yeah, used to be $60 and $35. It drops whenever there's a sale on Amaysim, lol.

  • What's everyone's speed test on amaysim? I went from Boost to Amaysim and the internet is so crap. Boost is 48Mbps (super fast), Amaysim 2.52Mbps.

    • Depends on your location. Some areas telstra is good, other areas optus/vodaphone is good.

      • But I've checked the area where it's covered and it's like 98% Australia I think I recall.cmy area is covered yet bad internet

  • Now $140 for the 12mth 120GB. just got email..

    $6/2GB 28 days first 3 renewals..

    • $6 deal is specific for your account, right?

      • Maybe, was an email I got..

  • Btw, I might consider a refund. Dude, internet is awfully slow, even for that bargain it's not worth it. It feels like speed dial, the first time internet was established. I called them and they were happy to give a refund.

    • Amaysim has great Customer Service. I have observed their plans are usually priced higher than other competitors, but they have top class customer service! They resolve your issues on the go (chat/call) and do not give excuses like "we'll get back to you".

Did you have similar issues with other Optus providers in your area?

      • This is my first Optus provider, maybe in a long time and I can't remember and Optus in my area is awful even if it's in the Sydney region
