Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15-0096 15.6" Full HD Laptop (512GB) [Ryzen 7] $999 (Was $1299) + Delivery/Pickup @ JB Hi-Fi

190

Fantastic timing on my laptop dying after all the "good" specials, so now I'm scrambling to get something reasonable in a short time frame.

This laptop seems to be OK, 15.6" Full HD (1920 x 1080) display, AMD Ryzen 7 3700U (2.3 - 4.0Ghz) processor and 512GB SSD storage with 8GB RAM.

A close second seems to be the similar model on the Lenovo website for $899 - 10th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-10210U but with only 256GB SSD.- https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-l-serie… (2 day delivery)

I'm sure these laptops don't represent a typical 100+ up-vote deal but it's slim pickings at the moment.

4700u gets to this price or even less

I'm looking… and I can see what you mean. This is available on Amazon for $985.38 (no discount) but delivery is not until 26th Jan. https://www.amazon.com.au/Octa-Core-Graphics-Backlit-Fingerp… but I'm going to have to purchase fairly quickly (a real OzBargain dilemma!)

it's also coming from the US and the warranty seems pretty sketchy as a result

Zenbook 14 for $800 was a much better deal.

No touch screen, no webcam. I am leaning more towards the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14" 128GB SSD for the same price.

most (all?) of the Lenovo Ideapad 5 range are 8+ weeks from shipping direct from Lenovo at the moment, sadly.

      • It's in stock at my local JB

oh I see. Worth noting that the one that JB has in stock has a much weaker processor - Intel Core i3 10th Gen vs AMD Ryzen 7 3700U. The 10th Gen Intel processors apparently have issues with heat too. This provides a bit of a comparison https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/Intel-i3-1005G1-vs-AMD-…

          • @vinvivant: Thanks, fair point. I looked a bit harder and found the Lenovo Ideapad Flex 5 14" i5-1035G1/8GB/512GB SSD for just a few dollars more, great value and a much better chip.
