AOC 24" VA 1ms FHD 144hz Monitor $179 Pickup at PC Byte

Looks like a good cheap VA panel with 144Hz FreeSync, for anyone looking for one. Bear in mind, reviews say it might have ghosting problems that is common with VA panel monitors.

You can also get a Samsung 27" for the same price at MSY :) https://www.msy.com.au/lg-27-27mk430h-b-5ms-fhd-freesync-ips…

      There's a huge difference between 75Hz and 144Hz.

True, you might be able to overclock it I suppose, but I don't really game so a bigger screen is a higher priority for me :)

can't compare 144hz monitor with 75hz. If you are wanting to compare apples with apples then MSY is selling the same monitor for $219 (also out of stock)

I upgraded to 144Hz and honestly see ZERO difference in MS Flight Simulator and Fortnite switching between 60 and 144. None. And I've tried switching back and forth after a couple of weeks at 144 Hz. Different people seem to have different sensitivity.

        • Make sure you are outputting at 144Hz, id be very suprised if you see no difference!

@Franc-T: Definitely have it outputting 144Hz via displayport. My son can see the difference. I can't.

  • Can anyone tell me a phone number to call PCByte and find out where my order is at? Its been 3 weeks and it hasn't been dispatched. I can't find a number to customer support or online orders.

I tried calling their 2 stores (Auburn, Hornsby) just now and no answer and no ability to leave a message. WTF?

    Are they not reputable?

    Any help much appreciated.

  • Update:

My monitor arrived suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday afternoon. I got an email 'after' it arrived which had a tracking number and indicated that it had been shipped at 8pm the night before.

So I am not sure if it was my post on here, or my review on Productreview.com.au that got their ass into gear, but in either case I was mostly pissed off that they showed the item in-stock and available at the time I paid for it, when subsequent emails have advised me they had no stock. So yer, a bit weird, and although I did understand about some delays during xmas and newyear, I was not happy with their apparent misleading inventory statements.
