Thanks. Bought 2 for free shipping.

  • Anyone know if the colour ones have uncoated stainless steel interiors?
My current silver zojirushi has the plain interior but saw a friend's colour version that had a blackish coated interior.

    • +6

I bought this from the previous deal and the interior is plain/uncoated.

      • +1

This one is the stainless steel interior - mentions it in the Amazon add too :)

    • +2

      not tea/coffee stains?

    • +5

I did my bucket of research before buying one. And here's a summary:
There's a slicksteel (steel interior) and a teflon coated version. Normally, the teflon coated one is better for coffee/tea because it will make cleaning easier and also potentially reduce stainless steel taste of some. I think stainless steel will be good for storing something like water. YMMV, but I bought a double-coated teflon one for coffee/ tea.

Bought 2 (black and gold), all have uncoated interior. However, bought mine almost 3 years ago.

  • It's shipped from the UK so delivery is only free above $49 spend even with Prime.

  • What is the difference between this item and the following $17 alternative discounted by 62%??
Zojirushi Stainless Steel Mug, 16oz, Smoky Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005PO9T44/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_…

This is USD and from amazon.com, not au

      • Still works out to be $7 AUD cheaper?

        • Total cost: $30.62 including Shipping & Estimated Import Fees Deposit to Australia Details

Is what comes up for me

        • +1

Can't order from Amazon US to ship to Australia from what I understand. Think it forces you back to the Amazon Australia site (so it can add 10% GST).

Woolies have stainless steel mug for half price when on promo. Just take that?? Does the same job

    • +2

Yes a Lamborghini and a Toyota are just cars

      • +3

Thing is Toyota's are reliable. Maybe Lamborghini and Alfa Romeo.

        • +8

they both do the same job…unless if you wanna pick up the ladies with a drink bottle …

          • +4

@funnysht: Yeah, since when do people get snobbish about mugs?

            • +2

@edfoo: How is "this one is better quality" somehow "being snobbish"? I know OzBargain is famous for being populated by halfwits who have zero idea about quality, only caring about price, but c'mon.

              • +1

@mickeyjuiceman: Is it better quality? These things are all pretty much the same design and material. Just comes down to the top.

                Ehh, what do I care?

              • @mickeyjuiceman: When people compare them like Lamborghini.

            • @edfoo: Probably the same time Voss water came on the market.

      • -1

Bro woolies brand is just as good. I haven't had an issue

        • -1

these will keep things hot for much longer and stand up to more abuse

        • -1

          No they're not.

    • +3

      Goodness. The sheer ignorance.

  • +1

I picked up one of these I think from Bic Camera in Japan a few years back, full price too when our AUD was still terrible… still100% no regret purchase.

  • +2

They were selling stainless steel bottles from decore and sisetma for half price at woolies the other day= may be still on

    • +2

Zojirushi are at least a level above these.

  • Im not sure if we can compare this to thermos, I've been using thermos products for years and they are still good.

    • Do you own both? It would be great to have a comparison. I would have thought the Zojirushi would last years as well.

      • i have the Thermos version of this. Considered buying this, but decided against it.
I used to put coffee inside, but the silicon can retain some coffee smells even after a few washes.
That said, hot / cold water lasts very long in there as claimed.
Paint hasnt peeled off mine and ive taken mine regularly to the beach (thought there are some scratches on it)
Ive been satisfied with mine, though its mainly just water now.
I dont think you can go wrong with the thermos tbh.

I use a double walled ceramic with a silicon lid for the coffee now. doesnt work as well, ie it will spill if you hold it upside down and it wont really keep it that hot for long. but its easy to clean and doesnt retain any smells.

I have a Zojirushi, Thermos and Hydroflask.

        In terms of quality and heat/cold retention, there is day and night between them, with Zojirushi leading the way;

        1. Zojirushi
        2. Hydroflask
        3. Thermos
        • +2

Interesting. Can you expand how so? Purely on heat retention?
Would pick one up if its clearly better.
The thermos i have says its 12hrs hot.
Id say realistically, if you fill it with coffee, drink half in the morning, and then come back 6hrs later for the other half, its hot enough to still be pleasant, but certainly not steaming hot. Cold water seems to do much better in it though.

      • We have zojirushi and Hydroflask. Both work great but for tea and coffee I prefer the Zojirushi.

  • +3

    Lavender is a bit cheaper.

  • Wondering how this compares to the sub-$10 S'well clones (the ones looking a bit like a ten-pin bowling pin)

    • You can get swells for $20-$30 if you wait

  • +6

When i woke up this morning i didnt think i would be spending $66 on drink bottles today. :-/

  • black one is about $2 more

  • +1

    Made in thailand?

  • is this the biggest size?

    I think I got 20 oz for $28 or $29 a few years back

  • I've been quite worried about stuff being sent from the UK given….

    • Brexit?

  • +3
  • think it all sold out

    edit: stainless version is $32.66

  • +1

bought the same stuff early this year for my mom for $16 dollars.

she didn't like it cuz the cap can't be taken off as a cup.

it will be freakishly hot when you try to drink from it
