  • Citric acid from Coles works fine for me.

this is for backflushing the group and cleaning parts not descaling

    • You need to use both. Citric acid doesn't touch the coffee sludge. These do a brilliant job. That being said, you would need to share this pack around. I bought an 8 pack and it's lasted me a couple of years.

      • Interesting. Wasn't aware of cleaning group parts. I have an all in one De Longhi, so would I need to use these every now and then?

        • +1

If you are brave, take a few screws out and look at what lays between the brew head and the spouts on the Delonghi. Your mind will be blown..pretty grose in there. But probably provides the 'natural flavours' they say it takes 8 or so coffees to achieve when you first buy the unit. Either way, I clean it. I use the tablets plus citric based cleaner (not at the same time) on a Delonghi Magnifica and a Map pod machine.

        • Probably not in your case. Back flushing is generally for machines that have a three way valve

  • The very expensive Breville cleaning tablets are made by Cafetto, so this is much cheaper for the same thing!

any links to what you're using?

      • +2

I was using Cafetto EVO tablets (as per this deal), but ran out so switched to Cafetto EVO powder, because I also use it for soaking the group handle & filters.

It's the same stuff, just the tablets are easier to use & don't need to measure, like using dishwasher tablets vs powder.

  • Can these be used as replacements for the Breville cleaning tablets?

    • +1

Yes but you are better off buying a smaller amount as you will never use the 150 tablets.
There is a 60pk which is better for home use.

  • yes of course cafetto is indeed the manufacturer of those breville cleaning tablets
not sure if you remember the cleaning kit came with your breville machine
it should have the cafetto logo on it

anyway, these tablets are the better version (organic) and they work perfectly in your breville coffee machine.

    Great product

Though unless you specifically need it in a tablet form or have an adversion to using a spoon to scoop some powder, the powdered version of the same product is significantly cheaper.

  • Is this a replacement for deLonghi Descaler Cleaner Espresso Coffee Machine - EcoDecalk?
It is expensive and my machine tells me it needs another descale a couple of weeks after using it

    • No, this is for cleaning coffee residue, not descaling which is to clean out limescale. different stuff

  • What's the difference between these ($50 for 150 tabs) and the cafetto s15 tablets ($24 for 100 tabs) ?

I've been using the s15's for years and they work perfectly on my machine.
