PS3 Logitech Driving Force GT Wheel - $109 (Normally $189)

410

(from the Dick Smith website) - Make your PlayStation 3 experience even more realistic with the PS3 Logitech Driving Force GT. Enjoy unprecedented integration with Gran Turismo 5 game functions, while advanced force feedback recreates bumps, crashes and traction loss with great realism.

I saw this priced at $132 online yesterday, and today it's less. Cheaper than the Logitech Shop ($115).
It's available in-store and online. When I went to buy it at the store, it came up as $132 (but the price sign on the shelf was $109), so make sure you let them know. The guy mentioned that the price would expire on 18/12 (even though it does not state that on the website).

My first submission. Hope I 'ticked all the boxes'. ;)

    • I saw this as new last month at CashConv Mt Gravatt QLD for $99, ignorant fools…, but I guess u'd rather get a new clean one for $109 NOW ! ;)

  • Hope Logitechshop beats this!

    • Yeah, based on past experience I'm sure LTS will beat it in a few days.

      • They've beaten every logitech product so far except for these wheels. DSE had this for $89 a few months ago, LTS didn't want anything to do with it.

    • is that price delivered ? :)

  • Is it much better than this? Just the gear stick is extra, while I assume all other features are all there on the wheel.

    • yeah that wheel looks pretty crappy.

if i were to buy a wheel then this would be the minimum i would get.

preferably the G27 is the wheel that is most recommended

    How about this? $189 + 2 games (GT 5 and F1 2011) at JB

  • I suggest you don't buy and wait for the LTS rep to beat it :)

  • It's a good steering wheel for GT5… I bought it from DSE a while back when they had it for $89.
This is still a good deal!

    • $89 ?! I'm sure we'd all jump to buy it at that price, yeah wait for LTS to beat this $109 deal lol.

  • +2

some1 contact LogitechShop and ask if he plans on beating this deal!

  • do you need some small table/desk to mount this or can it sit on your laps?

    • picked this up last time for $89. I have this mounted on a cat's scratching pole. Just watch the cat/s don't jump on it and knock it over and damage the force feedback mechanics!!!!

  • i have porche wheel, it works but was not worth it. i dont think these work any better.

  • OMG….. bought this wheel from dicksmith last christmas for $99.95!!

  • DSE was selling this for $89 a couple of months back.

    • A couple of years back too. I got mine not long after I got my PS3. Picked it up with GT5 Prologue. Good wheel for the price… amazed at the level of force feedback a budget wheel has now.

I could have sworn that they stopped making the driving force GT.

  • TLS will not beat this price. When DSE was selling this for $89, TLS price remained $115.

    • LTS*

      • -1

        TLS = The Logitech Shop

        LTS = Logitech The Shop?

        • +1

LTS = LogiTech Shop. Maybe not technically correct, but that's what everyone refers to it as here.

  • Also bought one about 2 years ago from DSE for $99. For the price, it is a very good wheel.

  • +1

This is an excellent wheel, the pedals need to be modded to improve breaking and accelerating accuracy. But the steering wheel itself is very very good.

I bought for $120 on Ebay earlier this year. This is a good price. Obviously the G25,G27 are both far better but cost at least $100 more. If you are serious about wheels then go to GTPlanet.com and check their reviews of high end models. However for the average Joe, this is excellent.

    • Also I use it on my PC to play racing sims as well. Also can be used with Dirt3 and other racing games too.

      • so you can use it with PC games too? awesome! hoping LogitechShop beats this price!

  • Is there one for the Xbox 360?

    • +1

Unfortunately not from logitech that I am aware of.
The original Xbox wheel is pretty good, don't see much of it anymore.

    • +1

Yeah, the only consistently produced 360 wheels are made by a German company called Fanatec. They are of extremely great quality, but your wallet will weep.

  • hope lts drops the g27
    i prefer than this

    maybe $250 for g27 would be great…

  • i have this wheel.

its excellent!! only 2nd to G27.

all it doesnt have is a clutch and gearstick.

besides that its mainly auto. or up/down shift with the knob.
or the F1 gears on the back.

    the feedback is powerful.
it even doubles as a controller. has all the buttons on it.

i recommend this steering wheel :)

  • what are the best games to play this with, besides GT

    • Sega Rally was the other game I bought for it. I assume the recent Daytona HD is also good.

Don't try anything like Burnout Paradise.

    • rFactor 2 should be out shortly. That's where I'm planning on racking up most of the driving hours on my G27. (PC only of course) It's more sim than arcade racer though, you need to decide what type of game you want first.

      • Is the G27 worth the premium?

        • I'd definitely suggest it. Stronger motors, built to last (a lot less plastic involved).

All depends on how you play though. I'm playing tournaments in a lot of older cars (GT Legends at the moment). So the ability to play on full manual with clutch for heel and toeing is a godsend (these old cars are hard enough to keep stable without throwing in auto clutch and trying to drive with the paddles is just too slow). In this situation you are much better off (especially off the line, I can overtake the entire pack off the line just because the extra control means I'm not sitting there spinning the wheels like every other chump.

Also depends on how much you're playing and how serious you are. I'm in a tournament with guys from work every fortnight, which probably isn't often enough to justify the price by itself. But I'm pretty competitive, and I was getting trounced before the upgrade so that made it definitely worth it (in the top 2 every round now :) ).

  • If anybody in WA wants this for $89 I have one for sale, used once.
