    Great bit of software. I got it last time it was free from them and still use it (helped diagnose a failing hard drive that was throwing up the occasional issue). I just built a new PC and was still able to reinstall the software on the new PC even after the time to register had expired by keeping the zip file.

    I had trouble downloading the link using Chrome, but it worked fine on Firefox. Don't spam click the link, otherwise it won't work anymore.

    Great piece of software, I was using the free pro copy from the previous giveaway, so it's nice to get the updated one. Really useful to keep on top of drives that are starting to fail.

      This is standard and not Pro. I agree, it is a great piece of software. I use it for Auditing all the spare HDD's that I have (current and spares) and keep a copy of report via Report -> Save authenticated disk report. I also like that it can email if it detects HDD issues (for PC's I have running unattended).

    are these a good idea to install on work/school/uni laptops with SSDs? We have a mix of new/old laptops at home.

      It will monitor SSD's , typically by looking at the write cycle wear. It also identifies if TRIM is enabled or not.

      It would work for general HDD info, Age, Data written etc,but not so sure it would give much warning about pending failures on SSD's. I suspect they just die on the spot?

      Of course they would work, but licensing maybe an issue. You'll have to look up their EULA to see if you can use it for a school/uni.

      Unlike HDDs, SSDs have no moving parts: platters and heads. They die pretty much like light globes. Monitoring them won’t really going to predict anything.

    I didn't read the comment about chrome. I think I clicked the link too many times. When I try edge, it no longer work as well.

      prob have to re-register to get a new download link - i couldnt get it working on Chrome first time around, resulted in "too many downloads. Re-reg'd and Edge worked first time

          i'd suggest to use https://10minutemail.com/ for a temp address, then just use the download link received. I dont believe that there is any long term requirement to be contactable via a specific email addres .. the temp email will give you the link needed to get the install file, once you've got it, you can let the 10minutemail address time out.

    Thanks op, got it. I thought the deal expired but the email said it is still available. I would like to suggest OP to put one extra instruction in your title. Do not use chrome to download as it does not work. I think quite a few fall for the trap.
