            • @lostn: Still nothing in my letter box. Have you received yours by now?

              • @DoctorCalculon: I got it today.

The porting process is extremely slow though. It wouldn't surprise me if it takes as long as sending it.

          • @DoctorCalculon: Just to confirm… the tracking number is something internal for Catch (for their records) and is not a valid AusPost tracking number.

I ordered on the 17th and received it in my mailbox on the 25th.

            • @starionx:

tracking number is something internal for Catch (for their records) and is not a valid AusPost tracking number

Correct since AusPost does not issue a tracking number for regular mail (i.e. unregistered).
Catch's own system does not know this. They take that internal ID, and passes it off to the AusPost track API which fails.

  • Optus vs Telstra network in my area if anymore was curious of the difference in the networks

    Optus: https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/i/4385422869

    Telstra: https://www.speedtest.net/result/i/4385421955

    • Interesting that the Telstra ping is nearly twice as slow.

      • I seem to notice that a lot with Telstra where I live

  • Thanks just bought one

  • Sorry, can you use Coles 15% discount catch gift card on this purchase?

    • Yes you can. Just bought one now using discounted giftcards.

  • woops wrong thread

  • Thanks OP.. Catch said they'll honour it for one SIM card - what a great deal!

  • Finally decided to activate the sim and port over my old number from vodafone. 20 mins later the porting was complete. All up and running. :)

  • Was anyone able to buy two sim even though it says one per customer?

    • Bought three - for 3 family members. I.e. 3 different customers will activate.
(Hopefully no issues - only activated one so far.)

      • Did you actually get 3 sims? Thought they only limited to one sim as per the email.

  • I cannot recommend using Catch Connect.

I requested to port a number across to one of these services, and nearly 2 weeks later the number is still in limbo, and I have no access. Have escalated it multiple times, and still no action.

    • Ok I think I might have a solution to your problem as this happened to me as well. All I did was take out the sim. Put in the new sim and it worked. Give that a try.

  • "by the date advertised on the promotion "

I could understand the SIM need to be activated within 30 days of purchase, but what is the other phrase mean? Must activate before 04 Feb 21???

    • Wording is also different between the catch and catchconnect websites.

Asked in their chat window and got this response:

Just make sure you purchase before the end of the promo. From there, activating within 30 days will ensure that you do not miss out on any advertised benefits and inclusions that you have paid for as a part of your service. If you attempt to activate outside of this timeframe, this may lead to issues with activation and/or the plan activating with credit that may not align with what you had purchased. I apologise if this has inconvenienced you in any way

      • Thanks mate, it's exactly as I expected. Lucky my current plan end within 30 days of purchase…

  • What are your options once your data runs out? Just find a new deal?

  • I still haven't received my SIM after 8 business days since the item was marked as shipped.
Both Catch.com.au and Catch Connect are blaming slowness from Australia Post. Is this still a valid excuse these days?

    • I am in the same situation.

      • If you order via Catch.com.au they cannot send out a replacement which Catch Connect can do if you had ordered via them. 🤦🏻

      • I still haven't received mine. This has never happened before.
It looks like I will have to ask for a refund as Catch.com.au won't ship out a replacement SIM. Bummer!!!

    • Well AP today concluded a registered letter I sent (from Syd to Melb) on the 19th to be lost in transit. Hope that's not the case and it's bundled up with these ones and that they will be delivered soon.

      • As an update, it has now moved and is being delivered 1 day after contacting them. Hope these ones start moving shortly or ask if Catch can contact AP to get it moving.

        • ask if Catch can contact AP to get it moving

Not a chance in hell as the SIM cards are sent via unregistered (regular) mail to keep costs down.
When you place the order, there is no option to select registered mail and pay the extra costs.

  • Don't know about others but ordered mine on the 28th Jan. Dispatched 29th Jan. Received 3rd Feb.

  • Still haven't received mine, dispatched 4th Feb. Anyone else in W.A have the same problem?

  • Just activated today and noticed that you can choose autorecharge: OFF during the activation process
