gearbite had it for $479 AU stock the other day

Kmart had it for even cheaper.

        That price was unicorn

        • -1

i got one, does that make me a unicorn

        • If 1 gets you to candy mountain, where did I make it to after buying 2 and selling the 2nd one on FB to pay for the first?

    • +1

I personally risk buying this from BG, warranty issues would be a pain. And it has been cheaper locally.

      • Not to mention they use fast way couriers, for some odd reason those are the worst!!!

        • +3

fastaway/aramax no matter how they rebrand that company is horrible. Broke an aquarium filter shipped down from queensland, sat in their facility for 9 business days for no reason despite calls and online support that promised delivery next day.

edit: did I mention it was broken on arrival and the cardboard was severely dented and waterlogged?

      • Didn't work when I tried that code

        • Must've expired very recently, my mate purchased it earlier today

    • +1

This monitor has been selling by the thousands cheaply for the past few months, how does everyone in Australia not have one yet? XD

  • Does this have standard mounts? Could I use this with a couple of them? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0714DN1QH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f…

    • +2

      Yes, VESA: 100x100

    • Did you end up buying and mounting these?

  • TN VA IPS???

    • Samsung VA panel

      • Apparently the new ones are no longer using Samsung panels.

    • This is VA.

      • Quite a good monitor. Although after having owned one for a month, I would suggest another monitor if you plan on playing games with dark scenes. In dark scenes like some parts of cyberpunk 2077 or AC valhalla (more noticeable on the loading screens) there is a flicker if freesync or vsync are active. I've tried widening the freesync range and cranking up the pixel clock, and whilst the freesync range that this monitor can handle is quite massive (managed to get it running 30hz-144hz range), I still haven't been able to get rid of the flicker. The only thing that seems to get rid of it is turning off freesync and vsync.

From what I've read online, this seems to be a common problem.

        • This happens on lots of monitors in g sync compatible/freesync mode.

          • @hotpants: I didn't have this on my old aoc 1080p 144hz monitor so it's a new experience for me. I was considering trying another monitor down the track that mentions antiflicker but I'm sure it will happen on any monitor where the refresh rate and the backlight are not in sync.

          • @hotpants: Apparently only the ones with these cheaper VA panels.

            • @reactor-au: Happened with my Samsung G7 32" 240hz too which I returned because it cost me nearly $1.2k. It's apparently been fixed now with a firmware update. It has something to do with the brightness adjustment when the refresh rate keeps varying I believe. That being said, for the games I play (I now have the previous 144hz VA of Samsung) I can maintain 144fps anyway.

Also, the flicker is something you stop noticing after a while. Your eyes get used to it. For me I bought the 144Hz samsung second hand for a good price so I'm happy to live with it. With the brand new G7 I paid top dollar and wasn't.

          • @hotpants: Yep same thing happens with my Dell S3220DGF

  • No gsync?

    • Gsync "compatible", not a true Gsync model with the module - although those go for many hundreds more.

      • Would spend the extra on a gsync module anyday. Freesync flicker is terrible.

        • -2

Maybe you didn't use it proper?

          • @reactor-au: That's not how things work buddy. Freesync flicker is inherent to Samsung VA panels which this monitor and my other Coolermaster GM34-CW has. Both flicker in games with VRR on regardless of freesync range set in CRU or what VESA certified DP 1.4 cable is used. The Xiaomi isn't terrible though, compared to the much more expensive CM ultrawide.

gtx/rtx 1000 series and above support freesync, gsync is just marketing

    • +1

Just a note/fyi that GSync will only work over Display Port, not HDMI on a FreeSync only display. Should not be a problem with this monitor but caught me out with a TV having only HDMI and Freesync (no Display port or GSync).

  • Is this eligible with any of the shopback or cashrewards cash back offers?

    • Yes but good luck tracking. last 3 purcheses from BG did not track, maybe because i used a code not on their website.

  • Why is it in USD if it's from an Australian store and the stock is located in Australia?

    • +4

      Lol Australian store…… It aint

    • Cuz its not, its in a warehouse in Hong Kong. Why else does "FAST SHIPPING" = next week minimum? It's not here that's why.

  • Not the lowest price but good

  • When does this deal expire?

  • This is actually a nice monitor (used one) in all categories, too bad about the dark smearing though, it's extreme.

  • whats a good arm mount for this?

  • Got mine from Kmart for just about same price. Gteat monitor. Just wish the curvature is one step up.

  • Got it for $459 from Kogan, parcel in transit!

    • Is that price still available?

  • highly recommended. fyi: you may need new cables…had to change all my HDMI and got new dps since none could reach 60hz/120/144.

    • Thanks for the tips

  • I get US$391.39 after applying the code, instead of US$379.99 as published by OP.

    • You need to uncheck shipping insurance to get the full discounted price listed.

      • Thanks

  • Still a few around at Kmart cheaper, I know that Baldivis WA has quite a few at $349.

  • I saw this in Kmart for like $499 just as the regular price.

Great monitor btw, using one right now.
