    gud?

I love them personally. Good chunks of prawn in them, not just mush.

      • how bout compared to a proper dim sum place?

        • wont be as good as proper ones, obviously.
but if you steam them right (wait for water to boil, then steam 1-2 mins less than package instruction on high), the gap is not too far apart.

      overrated

    • +2

Nope, even at half price there is not a chance I’m buying these again.
Don’t get me wrong they are edible and some may find it ok but not me

      • Yeah, if you look at the percentage of actual meat in there you'll find that the ginger prawn one is the only one worth getting. Everything else is just slop like every other brand. If you want the good stuff, you've got to pay for it. This applies for meat pies, dim sims, chicken tenders, squid etc. All varying between 15-50% meat, if you get the 25% meat one instead of the 50% meat one, there's a massive difference.

    • FWIW I love dim sum and the Har Gow's skin is too thick, won't be buying it again.

Obviously not as good as a proper dim sum place..

But definitely one of the better ones.. enough.. to get my har gow fix..

also okay to boil for 8 minutes.. rather than steaming for 8 minutes..
    (instruction on packet).

Most of the others are steam only.. which can be a hassle..

    Definitely worth a try..

    • Yes I prefer to boil the har gows and the skin withstand it just well!

  • What's the price of the big bags when they go on sale?

  • Steam Selection is the best

      • Those are made in AU, me think.

  • reminder: don't eat these too often.

  • Can these be deep fried? for a change!

    • +1

Only Mr Chen's Chive & Prawn Wonton 240g can be deep fried

  • My woolies ran out by afternoon on Wed… but this weekend they stacked it 10x

    • Very lucky that my woolies has a good amount of stock of all variety.
I probably will never buy those dim sum with full price, but at half price it is something I don't want miss.

It’s not bad for home dim sum, at this price it’s worth a punt.

  • No stock again. Mr. Chen fans keeps clearing stock

lol, plz don't boil these, it ruins it. Get yourself a steamer while you're there
