thought i missed out as everyone was saying it was over. Still had the 30 dollar one in the cart but it wouldn't go to checkout.

Just as i was about to give up i tried the cart again and it worked.

If you still have a $30 in your cart, go back now and try the checkout.

    • I had two in cart and it worked $60

      lol hope they approve it

    • worked exactly the same way for me.

  • +2

Bought one, thanks OP. A little bit under $29 with Cashrewards cashback :) .

    • Actually $29.05

      • You're right - no cashback on GST :) .

    • You are a pro.

      • Nah just used a calculator

        • +2

I meant the one that managed through CB whilst 99% of the ppl here just wanted to get in at $30

  • Damn missed out so sad

  • i would have ordered one if I wasnt on amaysim for another 5 months! Hopefully gets honoured

  • Good luck to the poor reps that have to refund 5000-10000+ orders, be surprised if they honour it due to to many would have bought multiples to resell, didn’t bother getting one but definitely worth a try gl all

    • +1

pretty sure systems are advanced these days and they can refund all customers afffected by the price error in one click

    • +2

Doubt there would have been that many orders, Clicks from here doesn't mean everyone bought or even got through. Perhaps many hundreds of orders.

      • +2

I clicked maybe 5 times from this deal post to get it to load lol and finally managed to order one

      • -1

Don’t underestimate how powerful OzBargain is

        • +1

Yeah but don't over estimate either. :-)

  • -4

If they Dont honour it, OzB peeps will need to sue!!!

  • +1

    when will the card expired

  • -2

    WELL THEY TOOK MY MONEY

    • +1

Well, you pressed the button before they took your money I guess.

    • +1

      well you ordered one ?

    • +1

Did you begin by telling them to shut up first?

    • +9

why are u so triggered? 3rd order didn’t go through?

        • I doubt it would make any difference. I'm sure they monitor the number of sales of an item to catch price errors. I doubt they do or need to monitor website uptime.

  • Now the wait begins to see if we all do shocked Pikachu face, or happy Drake face!

  • Catch Connect should cancel all second+ orders

    • +4

Should have fixed it for one per person then. Poor programming abilities.

      • -1

Actually, it stated at the front!!! One per customer

        • +1

Again programming issue where by they shouldnt have allowed more than 1 purchases of the item.

Kogan and other sites can do it why cant these guys? Too lazy to check the program and or lack of funds? or 'not in my JD'?

          • @Turd: Even with programming limits, so easy to get around it anyway with different emails.

            • @CVonC: ahah yea well obviously. that's different, that's not controlable.

  • -1

$120 is still a great deal!

    • obviously not as good as $30 :P

      • No, but that has now expired. And people are not sure if the $30 price-error deal will be honoured.

    • +3

If anyone is going for the 120 make sure to buy from catch website and use 15% off giftcard from coles from today I guess. And if possible with unidays discount on top.

  • +2

    oh no i missed this

  • Wesfarmers owns Catch, no surprise their IT is trash. Bunnings website is an embarrassment with this transition to a Catch model!

    • Wesfarmers also owns:

      • K Mart
      • Officeworks
      • Target
      • First Choice Liquor
      • Liquorland
      • etc etc

      Are their IT/websites also "trash"?

  • -3

If anyone bought and had regrets, pm me. I'm assuming it's a sim that I can activate under my name. Cheers

    • +10

Hold the press! We have a comedian in the house.

  • Just finished checking out a cart I left behind and still only paid $30 what more I even got the cashback!

    • Yes only took $30 off me too

  • Omg damn missed out again. LoL

  • Wow, that's an incredible deal. Damn.

  • +1

Did anybody actually get confirmation emails and such???

    • +1

I did along with money taken from the bank

  • +2

`^ Do I have to be up at Midnight everyday : (

    • +1

No, only when there is a deal up at midnight. Plus you are a winner if this get cancelled. For had a good sleep. Lol

    • Move to WA :).

  • Goddamnit why these deals come up at midnight geez

  • Hi OP, can you please let us know if you see more great sim card deals? Thank you

    • +2

Subscribe to the tags the get notifications.

  • Deal of the year but miss out

    • Wow it's only Jan, maybe wait 10 more months to conclude that. Lol

      • +1

or wait to see if it was a deal

  • +1

    deal of year

  • So far no cancellation

  • Fyi everyone, the payment shows as “Purchase Authorisation”, not “Purchase” or “debit”. Means it is much easier to cancel the order as they have not taken any money from the bank yet. No refunds to process. But fingers crossed 🤞

    • That does not matters. Cancel and refund are not that time consuming. Couple of clicks and all done.

      • I mean we don’t wait for refunds for weeks like Testra price error where they actually deduct the money.

      • on 5000 orders it would be

  • Interested to see how this plays out today.

You'd have to estimate they are going to lose money - wholesale access to networks is cheap I'm assuming but surely not that cheap.

Solid influx of customers of they let it go through and could mean long term revenue. Being owned by Wesfarmers may mean it will be honoured.

  • I find the Optus network really unreliable though…

    • +4

Well, it's all depend on where you are.

    • +1

For $30 I happily accept Optus poor coverage.

    • +2

YMMV. I had been on Optus in Melbourne for a number of years. After moving to Telstra, I found that my service kept dropping out in certain spots that I visit in the CBD.

      • Yeah I guess it depends where you're from. Sydney, I prefer Telstra. Optus is really bad here.

      • +1

truth though especially in apartment near flinder station, telstra is so buggy and not stable

  • Damnit I was too tipsy at the time when this deal was on so I never checked Ozbargain. Just scrolled down Ozbargain and saw what I missed out last night… 🙁

  • Amaysim $40 (after CB) last BF and now this. $70/2 years if it goes through.

    • Wont you have to activate this within 30 days though?

      • +1

30 days guarantes what you order. After 30 days if the plan is still there you can still active and use. if the plan is no longer available, things may change. That is what I learnt from ozbargain.

        • So assuming the plan doesnt change you can still activate it afterwards?

Doubt the $150 plan will change right?

        • Wait really? Are you sure? Thought it says you have to activate within 30 days. Has thing been tested?

          • @nightelves: Expiry date of the SIM is 2 years after purchase.

            • @hawkeye93: Freak if I had known would have bought a whole bunch. Anyone know if the sim is tied to your login? Would like to add it for another family member but I bought it under my account.

              • +1

@nightelves: You buy it from Catch but activate on CatchConnect. Nothing is tied to your account.

                • @hawkeye93: Ohhh never knew you can do that. I'll do that from now on. Been buying through CatchConnect portal the whole time. Now it makes sense that you can redeem the giftcards.

                  • @nightelves: Yes, but this kind of "bargain" unfortunately you have to buy from the connect website.

            • @hawkeye93: Thats the expiry of the sim. Not the expiry date of the plan offering you signed up for.

What i have read in catch threads so far, as others have mentioned, is that if you don't activate the sim within 30 days your sim may activate under a non discounted plan.

I've heard of this with coles plans as well.

You may want to contact customer service re this and keep a copy of the transcript.

        • The portal looks and feels exactly like what Coles mobile uses. I asked the same question regarding Coles mobile. They too have a 30 day activation request. I asked their support team who advised that the 30 days guarantees the inclusions at the time of purchase. After 30 days, the inclusions can go up or down. I think i had a year to activate the sim and associated plan from memory.

      • to get current bonus. activation is longer but could have less data/calls etc

      • You can activate it within 2 years. But what is included would be determined at the time of activation.

        • so you could end up with more data

          • @user27: Ofc. If they decide to increase it.

          • +1

@user27: This used to happen on Lebara. I had banked 2 years worth of recharges. Over the 2 years, the inclusions became more generous. It may be the same as Catch mobile.

      • I was on chat and was told that 30 days is just a recommendation. You can activate within the 24 month period.

"So we recommend activating within 30 days of purchase but you do have up to 24 months to activate the service"

  • I signed up at ten votes, hasn’t been refunded yet. Hell of a deal if it goes through.

  • -3

Clearly an error. Will not be honored. Read the T&Cs..

    • You have disrespected my honor!

    • -3

They'll honour it because: (A) data practically cost nothing (not like Ipad was $600 marked at $60 which they will clearly lose $ on) (B) they get 5000+ new customers and getting new customers cost money it its own right, think about all the people that will like and recommend catch connect as opposed to cancelling the orders how many people will dislike them C) It will cost $$ in admin hours processing thousands of refunds to manage.

Good get for all those that got it!

      • Catchconnect are reselling a service that they get from Optus. Unless Optus charges Catchconnect less than $30 for each of their $150 plans, I doubt Catchconnect make any money from honouring this deal. That said, stranger things have happened. Good luck to all that purchased!

        • yeh sort of, its their own service by they use Optus network so its not the same. I rekon they wouldnt be losing a heap of cash over it otherwise we would have already seen cancelation error e-mails go out.. time will tell

    • This aged well! donk
