Screen protector, here I come lol

    • +1

Me too. Just in time for my smartwatch screen protector which frustratingly cracks all the time.

      • do you have motorola smartwatch, Moto ?

        • I don’t have one and it’s not me that did the negative vote. I missed out on the $399 40mm s5 eBay Plus apple watch, so I get by with a 38mm s1 that’s still in good nick that or Seiko SKX013 watch.

    • Yeah screen protectors

  • +1

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/599858

Got one of these on eb games ebay pick up for exactly $4. 😃

    • +2

Just so you know it needs to be $4 before GST. So need to spend at least $4.40.

      • +5

Isn't the ex GST part for international items only?

        • +1

Why take the risk for only 40c. I know Cashrewards uses Ex-gst even for chemist wearhouse.

          • @TomGum: “minimum spend does not include GST charged at checkout for international items”

            • @hawkeye93: Don't you need to pay that GST, ie. it's going to be added by the international seller before sending to Australia anyway, so the required spend (in most cases?) is $4.40?

Legit question - looking for reasons why the title doesn't say min. spend $4.40.

              • @pizzaguy: Exactly, required spend for international purchase is $4.40. For items from Australian sellers, only $4.

        • Correct.

      • Thanks, will buy two. 😃

  • -1

lol. what's the difference offer to this? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600658

    • Thats not eBay specific

    • valid on different days

  • +5

Not gonna get played out again by Shopback. The big catch is 3500 participants.

The last time, I purchased at danmurphys for first 500 participant at 12:02, and I didn't get it.

  • I assume it is activate via app, but ebay can then be done via deaktop

    • +4

Never assume anything with these cashbacks :)

    • Doesnt say in T&Cs, if gotyourback rep could clarify this, that would be great.

  • Hope the transaction will be tracked

  • +10

Have so many problems with shopback rejecting cashback/bonuses for no reason…. not worth the effort.

    • +2

So true, had to lodge several click claims for uber eats bonus… been 48 hours and not heard from them. Also very time consuming to lodge the click claim.

  • +11

Never got my $5, $10 cashbacks from black friday
Dont bother, you have to reach out to them for even a chance to get it

    • +2

My remaining Black Friday ones only just confirmed for me today.

Personally, I have never had an issue with Shopback and they have always gone through without issue. It's Cashrewards that always rejects me for some reason.
Seems to be one way or the other for each person.

  • +1

So Can’t be used with ebayplus $5 voucher?

    • +1

Straight no. Any voucher or coupon used will not track the cashback.

      • Oh well got free 5 dollar item and postage free anyway (eBay thought a delivery was taking a long time and gave me a free voucher anyway

  • paying with discounted ebay gift cards should be ok?

    • Should be. As using gift cards without this promotion counts as cashback.

    • Yes

  • +1

Used with eBay$5 voucher, will see
Edit generic Fitbit straps ~$5 as an idea

  • +2

Don't want to be rude, but this $2 saving has to be the world's lamest OzBargain

    • +13

I keep a list of low priced things which I kind of need but don't need urgently, and these $2 cashbacks come real handy.
Blanket pins to keep the cover and blanket together, screen protectors, ear plugs, a clip-on mic, keyboard feet, button batteries, single thermal paste, etc.
These are nice when they credit

  • +1

Does anyone know if after this has been activated on the app, can we use our laptop/desktops to purchase instead? Using and going through the app seems to have a lot of tracking issues for me.

    • You can use desktop once you participate in the offer using the app.

  • +5

Not playing any more shopback; missing cashback from Boxing Day and have to submit 'missing cashback enquiry' which I did and still pending.

The wording we will keep you updated 'as soon as we can' is very comforting. Maybe I'll see the cashback in never lol.

    • +2

I've still got a cashrewards pending from 30 SEP that was meant to be paid early Jan, have to chase that up again ffs

  • What if the purchase is in USD but equivalent to over AUD$4 ?

    • It shall go through … shouldn't be less than AUD $4 … Dont know why you get neg, maybe they think ebay only accepts AUD and exists in Australia.

  • +5

Shopback did not track my BWS purchase made through their app. Now I have been given what looks like the form email: "We have investigated and found that the merchant has deemed ShopBack ineligible to earn commissions on this transaction which results in us being unable to pass the Cashback along to you…."

    • What sort of alcohol did you buy?

      • layback wine.

      • +2

White and red from the clearance section.

        • +2

There's nothing in the ShopBack T&C's to say that clearance items arent included.

Using this logic any ShopBack retailer can unilaterally deny payment at their own discretion. Hopeless.

          • @ash2000: Shopback did the same thing for me with BWS on a previous special cashback deal.

    • +2

do you have the BWS app as well? By default if you open BWS in the shopback app, it opens the BWS app which is excluded from cashbacks (had to uninstall the BWS app)

  • +9

Didnt track my last three purchases and we're all ineligible for no reason. Check if you got your last $2 purchase or did it disappear?

    • I keep track of all the bonus transactions and always gets paid. Use app to enable challenge then use Chrome with no extensions to make purchases in a single go without leaving the transacting website. Both for CR and SB. Always worked for the last 5 years. Only for referral bonuses I had to chase both of them but got them soon.

      • +1

I understand many of you do not get the cashback you expect (deserve) and I am nowhere commenting/criticizing on your process as I do not know what you purchase and how you purchase. I was just sharing my process which works for me in the hope that someone might get benefit. No point of negging me unless that's constructive criticism. Thanks.

  • -1

    Thanks

  • +2

    So many upvotes for $2

    • Ozb goes wild over these every time, it still puzzles me

      • +3

I don't know why either, and I'm one of them.

I'm Currently is a frantic state trying to find a $4 item that I don't need to save $2. 😢

    • +5

Ozbargain is getting flooded with these ridiculous “deals” which are really just marketing traps. Oh and all those deals for RAM/miscellaneous hardware.. 5c cheaper than last time mind blown.

      Make ozbargain great again!

      • +3

        ban shopback

  • 1875 / 3500 have used this challenge

    • +2

      Don't worry I'm not rushing to this 1 :)

    • +4

y'all can have it; I'm salty, I'm done.

  • Excellent I was just going to buy some seeds for the veggie patch!

    • from overseas? Won't they get blocked by quarantine?

      • nope i got some arrived safely

      • No, Australian sellers!

        • Sorry, ignore my comment. I read the Ts and C's comment about GST as meaning we could only but overseas items to qualify.

  • +4

Never gotten anything from shopback challenges. I'm just gonna delete my account

    • +5

make sure you email them to get it deleted properly, they dont have a good track record with ur data

      • i didn't use my real name and use a disposable SIM card to begin with. Plus a junk email

They can have it all they want

  • Just when I've ordered something at 11:30 pm last night LOL

    • +1

Why didn't you use the $4.40 spend $2 back challenge?

  • Had a free eBay $5 voucher anyway (no min)

    • +2

Can’t use vouchers with CB. unless it’s a gift card

      • -2

oh well stuff em, was free anyway and better with the ebay voucher
spending 5$ for the sake of saving 2$ lol

  • the yesterday $2 spend $4.40 offer, big success i got challenge completed status in like 1 hour, lets see if this is a strike two

    • -1

I wish I had people like you competing with me in the gift card raids measuring $2 profit as a big success lol .

  • +5

Scam. Nothing tracked on boxing day challenge.

  • +13

My experience with ShopBack is summed up here

    • +4

get those negs out for shopback people

      dodgy as

    • Don't forget about the user data breach

  • +6

Can some of us report Shopback, they have missed a lot of cashbacks, mine last few we're all missed from November til now.

    • +3

"Several hours ago, we became aware that a party has made available online our customers’ data, which was taken during the unauthorised access to our systems back in September."

  • +2

I had a lot of trouble with Shopback in Nov/Dec, especially for large amounts. However, I lodged missing reports. The process was painful and their bot responses frustrating, and the way that they initially claimed I was ineligible after their initial 'investigations', but they eventually came good. In my experience, CR has much better customer service, but to be fair, I'm going to give SB another chance because of this offer.

  • +3

    not worth it

  • +1

I'm also giving shopback a last chance. Plenty of times when transactions or offers don't track or don't qualify. Rarely have similar issues with cashrewards.

  • +1

didn't track in the challenge for me.. seems weird, like people will buy multiple things until lit tracks.

  • +4

Over 200+ for $2??? Yawn… I found $2 on my walk today. And didn't have to deal with shopback. Bargain!

    • -3

Ozbargain is seriously losing its way. It used to be awesome, but has for a while now continued on a boring trajectory with this kind of stuff - just one example of far too many.

      • +2

At least the 0 posts you have made are turning things around.

        • -2

          Ooooooh zing. Good one mate.

    • +2

Far more upvotes on 5.25% off Wish eGC when standard rate was 5% off.

Spend $800 to save $2 more.

  • Expired? I can't see it in my app?

  • +1

No tracking and purchased from eBay 10 hours ago…. bit worrying.

    • Same here. Whats the need for this challenge stuff from Shopback? Keep it simple atleast it will track :(

    • I guess as long as you see in under your "Click History" should be ok, as they can use that to track the order hopefully

  • +3

Good luck to you who think you're gonna get your money from ShopBack. They dont track and then blame the merchant, then make you wait 35 days hoping you'll forget and finally deliver the bad news that you're not getting squat.

  • -1

    Got a $4 card game.

    Cheers Chibot

  • +2

Just use your phone instead a computer which gets tracked instantly. I also used to use my laptop for the transactions and often wouldn’t get tracked. Now since I’ve only started using my phone, each and every transactions get tracked in few hours, sometimes in few minutes. That’s my two cent
