Ryzen / RTX 3080 Gaming PCs [R5-3600/X570 WiFi/16 3200/480/750G]: $2286 + Delivery (Ships Late February) @ TechFast

1480
RYZEN-3080-FEB

Hi all, everyone knows there are no unallocated 3080s in the country now and if you've been following our deals you may have seen me commenting that we've been working with suppliers and manufacturers on RTX 3080 stock. They have all confirmed that the GPUs offered in this deal will be coming into Aus from late February onwards, following the Chinese New Year holiday period, so that's when these systems are offered for: late February onwards, pending arrival of the GPUs. Buying now will reserve a) this price which may well have risen by late Feb and b) your earliest position in the queue when they arrive.

Ryzen 5/7/9 | RTX 3080 10GB Gaming PC: $2286 after RYZEN-3080-FEB

  • Base CPU: R5-3600 6c/12t (5600X, 5800X, 5900X upgrades available. The 5600X and 5800X are readily available but the 5900X is offered on pre-order only at this stage and wait times may extend beyond the arrival of the 3080s - they may arrive sooner, but with no firm word from AMD on 5900X stock right now we're letting you know there's a chance they'll arrive after the 3080s do. You can always check in with us later in February if you're interested and up/downgrade accordingly.)
  • Galax RTX 3080 10GB (guaranteed MSI card upgrade available for those who prefer MSI)
  • Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi motherboard (this motherboard supports 2 x NVME for those wondering)
  • 120mm liquid cooler - the 3080s make all CPUs work pretty hard so we're bundling a 120mm over the Wraith Stealth. For extended gaming or pushing into 4K/Ultra settings, or for Zen 3 chips, the 240mm upgrade is really a recommendation.
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary)
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD
  • Gigabyte P750G 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU
  • MSI MAG Forge 100R or MAG Vampiric 100R Case

Existing 3080 Order Update
For those with existing Nov/Dec/early Jan 3080 pre-orders or Black Friday code orders from us, the 3080s for those systems have officially landed in Australia so we're nearly there! Many systems are already prebuilt just awaiting installation and testing and they will all be a priority once they get to us. More recent 3080 pre-orders (mid to late Jan) will be fulfilled as soon as possible, possibly with the stock from this new deal unless we can get more in earlier, which we are always working on.

        • That's correct, you'd be notified when it's ready for collection.

        • -2

Techslow will charge you upfront to pickup until you demand for the delivery fees back, which you then get in the mail months later. Does it still sound tempting?

          • +1

@MuddyClear: Yeah as long as Auspost dont touch my pc im pretty happy.

            • @XiTaU: i think you missed the point. Bongo is saying you get charged delivery fees even you opt for pickup. the refund arrives by mail later.

              • +2

@slowmo: Bongo is a persistent troll. Shipping is refunded automatically upon pickup when the system is marked pickup.

  • What happens to warranty if we transplant this into a more enjoyable case? That thing is hideous.

And sell off the junk (ie. SSD)?

    • +1

Our assembled system warranty would no longer apply to a system that has been transplanted, as we didn't build it (this is the same for an unassembled system), but the individual part warranties would still apply. If the manufacturer required that a warranty claim went back through the place of purchase, we can assist with that.

      • and with an assembled system, having to return to base i guess obviosuly means you are without your whole rig for a bit?

        • +3

We troubleshoot remotely and if we can issue a replacement part without getting the whole thing back if customers are comfortable replacing themselves, we offer that. We generally try to keep the system with the customer as much as possible.

          • @luketechfast: 1 last Q.

with local assembled pickup can we grab the supplied packaging?

            • +1

@abuch47: You'd get it exactly as we get it. Galax GPUs sometimes come bulk packaged (sleeved in antistat bags) but 3000 series cards haven't yet, it's all been retail boxed.

              • @luketechfast: local but ASSEMBLED pickup?

                • +1

@abuch47: Oh sorry, misfire. We can do our best, but I can't guarantee it as we're not setup to manage packaging through pick, assembly, testing and shipping.

      • Thanks. I just can't get over how ugly the cases are.

Even that DeepCool Matrexx 55 Mesh, lance-v and were miles above the two on offer here.

Its just killing me to have an elite system that looks like a turd (even if it's a rainbow turd that goes faster).

        • LanceV looks nice but has fitment issues or something?

        • I'm with you there. Biggest issue is that all the PC builders seem to be choosing the tempered glass front cases too and that defeats the purpose of front fans. CPUs like the 5800X run hot and need the airflow.

Some quality front mesh cases from Lian Li or similar don't cost that much.

    • And sell off the junk (ie. SSD)?

that would be the whole system…

  • If only i was cashed up at moment :( $3056 i dont have spare :'(

are people finding 480GB enough for OS drive and all other crap that installs there??

    • You can get by with 60gb for an OS Drive….

      Just install games elsewhere.

      • Yea i usually forget to change default save drive in reg :(

  • Noob question. It says windows home is pre-installed but activation key is $169 extra. question is can i use basic functions like play games and browse internet without purchase of key? or i need to pay for the key to use pc?

    • Surprised its not activated. You could buy a $10 ebay code.

The pc will still function though.

      • thanks. is the key for ms word use and excell?

        • You'd be wanting an Office Key. Not Windows for that.

        • You can get MS office keys on eBay for.about $5. Just shop around, I've bought a Brazilian key and it worked.

          • -2

@mrtee: Does it come with a link to download MS Office?

      • -2

If by function you mean missing some features and having a watermark wallpaper then yes.

    • Yes

      • thanks

    • Did it get edited? I cannot see where it says Win10 pre-installed?

      • Im on my phone atm but when I asked the question I was browsing on my laptop and it did say under the O/S section that windows was pre installed on system. Which is why I asked the activation key question. I cant see that writing as I browse on my phone. Maybe they did edit it out?

      • can you see it on desktop? i can see in the OS section

  • Hey Luke,

In your post I see "The 5600X and 5800X are readily available"…Is that real? Is there a shipment of 5600x and 5800x dropping in Australia in FEB?? That sentence made my juices flow~

    • We have more than enough 5800X for anyone looking to upgrade into that on-hand now. 5600X are becoming available to us in Feb in better supply, not sure about the wider market.

  • so Luke, this is basically a pre order? You don't have the cards on hand, do you? What's the likelihood of a delay?

    • No, as above they are coming after Chinese New Year. It's the same as our regular model where we have stock arranged to come in and take orders accordingly, but this would be the longest lead time we've advertised so far. I've personally spoken to senior NVIDIA contacts who said Chinese New Year is the key date for supply to start to improve, and this backs up the information from both the manufacturers and distributors who have confirmed the stock for us, so it is as locked as it can possibly be.

  • Luke i want ryzen 9 5900x

    • It's there as an option, I just can't guarantee the delivery time as AMD don't have any up to date information on supply right now.

  • Would it be possible to add Gaming X Trio as a guarantee GPU option? Happy to pay extra for it if that's possible.

    • +1

No, MSI's short term supply will be mixed so we're not sure on the quantities of each MSI card we'll be receiving until closer to the date.

  • Ok im willing to wait you think march will be ok?

    • Yes, March will be OK.

  • 5600x need a 240mm cooler?

    • -1

definitely needs something better than a 120mm for sure.

    • No. Low power and no point in OC.

  • hey luke looking at few posts regarding warranty. How long is the manufacture warranty with your products?

    • Each component has its own manufacturer warranty, some of which may extend past our assembled system warranty. We offer a 1, 2 or 3 year warranty ourselves. I think that's what you mean?

      • Yep I just want to know if something went wrong after your warranty ran out, how the procedure could be handled.. but anyways pulled the trigger!

  • I've been out of the loop from the cpu market, do you think i'st worth to upgrade to 5600x?

    • Depends what you want to do with the computer but the 5600x is an amazing all round cpu.

      • It's for VR. I'm upgrading from i3 7350K + 980ti

        • +2

Yeah id say its well worth the upgrade it will smash your i3 in any task, the 5800x wont show too much more improvement in gaming over the 5600x but price wise the upgrade is the better deal in this i feel. At the $90 difference for a cpu which usually costs $150 - 200 more than the 5600x, its more of a future proof measure.

          • @XiTaU: This must have been a price error they've updated without mentioning here :( now is 190 extra. spewing as I nearly pulled the trigger - likely wouldn't have been honoured though I suppose.

That's twice in the last week now these guys have updated price errors when I'm about to buy something that seems too good to be true haha!

Probably worth just sticking with the 3600 or 5600x at a max to keep things budget (ish)or going intel if you want to squeeze a few extra frames and are concerned only about gaming.

The 5900x is a way better upgrade than the 5800x if you need more cores.

            • @Canberralad92: My order went through and yeh the 5800x is not really necessary just grabbed it because of the nice price. Sucks that you missed out im sure they will have even better deals than this in the coming months when stock comes in.

              • @XiTaU: Yeah such a bummer, might pass on it now with upgrades and delivery time killing this.

  • +1

If I select the MSI Bundle, would I be eligible for the MSI Cashback?

    • You need an MSI case + cooler + GPU + Mobo for the cashback I think

      • Oh yeah…w/ cooler it's $250 and w/o cooler it's $150, but didn't realise the Motherboard isn't MSI

    • Only specific qualifying products/SKUs qualify, this one isn't included.

  • Just ordered! Upgraded to a 5800x and 1tb SSD. Hopefully arrives with the start of uni!!

    • +1

Thanks for your order! New gaming rig for the start of uni, I like your style. Reminds me of me.

      • hahahah yes! It'll honestly mostly be used for some editing and the like, but nothing beats a quick gaming sesh between classes, especially since we're likely online again this semester! Looking forward to receiving it, thanks for the deal Luke!

  • Hey Luke I had returned my earlier purchased system with the 3080 eagle as DOA and agreed to a swap for the Galax. Will I be expecting that to be fitted and shipped out this week? Thanks

    • Just replace the this week with when they arrive to us, but yep. They were dispatched on the 14th, arrived in Melbourne earlier this week, so need to clear customs and be delivered to us. If you want it returned with the GPU uninstalled to avoid any potential courier handling reocurrence, please email [email protected] so that can be actioned for you. Thanks

    • They arrived today so our Warranty team will be in touch shortly.

  • Hi, Luke. Is it possible to change my CPU option from 5600x to 5800x? or is it better to cancel the current 5600x order and put a new order in

    • please email [email protected] so that can be actioned for you. Lol but Luke will sort it for you if you email.

    • Good to hear you ordered one i ended up getting the 5800x deal also now the wait is on :)

  • This deal is much better than Boxing Day deal. It comes with a better MOB (MSI X570 a pro to X570 Aorus elite WiFi) and cheaper price ($100 less) than Boxing Day. Feel bad :(

    • That may be true, but Its also worse than the value in the 3600/3080 launch deal.

  • Looks like I might be purchasing my second techfast build, great work as always Luke! Will this code be around for a few weeks?

    • Hard to say if it will last a few weeks, because if there's a big component price hike (they are steadily rising atm) it might make it unviable.

      • thanks for letting me know, won't have the money for another week or 2, will have to wait and see.

        • Hey Luke,

Was able to get the brother in law to jump on and buy it for me (everyone chipped in for my 30th birthday prezzie). what's the chances if I email the order number across in getting the gaming X trio card? (did paid for the MSI upgrade).

either way, I know i'll be happy with my second Techfast pc.

          Cheers

  • Enough cooling?? how many fans in the case on the left of the 2 standard?

    • +1

The Vampiric has 1 intake and 1 exhaust. When we get our hands on them we will test the temperatures of high end CPU/GPU under heavy load to see if they need more airflow - if they do we would add a regular intake fan at no cost, but we will be able to offer ARGB PWM fan kits soon too so we would likely email customers with the option.

      • Sounds good :)

      • what is a better case, vampiric 100R or your lanceV special?

        • +1

The Lance-V has superior airflow given it has 3 intake fans. The two MSI cases probably have slightly superior build quality in terms of look and feel, but it's marginal. It is almost certainly easier to add additional drives into the MSI cases.

          • @luketechfast: what about the design makes it harder for mounting extra drives? (cable space, panel removal?)

also how do they compare to the deepmax 55 Mesh? (which has more room?)

            • +1

@abuch47: Front panel removal and PSU partial removal may be required in the Lance-V depending on what size/type drive is going in. It's a little impractical but not super difficult. M55 Mesh supports 360mm radiators, that's the biggest overall difference. Structure the same quality as MSI but has 4 RGB fans preinstalled hence higher cost.

              • @luketechfast: Hmm I like the look of the lance vs the microstars I ordered this with, do you think asking sales would fastrack it at all?

                • @abuch47: Definitely can't offer fast tracking as the GPUs aren't arriving until later this month mate. The systems will all be built as priority when the GPUs arrive so they will ship fairly close together once everything comes in.

  • +1

For some reason the only device I have that can scroll the techfast website is my iPad. Doesn't work on my desktop (which I got from techfast) and doesnt work on my laptop or iphone. Is this happening for anyone else?

    • Had to reload the page on my desktop as it wasn't working for me either but that fixed it.

      • I too had this issue on Android. I had to open in desktop mode.

    • +1

It's a browser thing rather than a device thing - a hard cache clear and refresh usually sorts it.

  • Awesome to have a local dealer with stuff like this

Will definitely take not for when I need to upgrade probably next yr hopefully rtx 40 cards…

Don’t want to go interstate again with myself having twice receiving DOA cards previously on 2 preassembled PCs from scorptec which took over a month to rectify.
All the cards were Gigabyte ones too.

  • Has anybody come across any 3080 mATX or smaller pre-builts? Don't have the room on my desk for a full tower. The MSI Trident X is an (albeit expensive) option but haven't really found any others.

  • It's quite surprising to see that some of the November orders(3080s) are yet to be fulfilled and we're almost in Feb now. Has this become some Money Laundering Business? Is it legal to hold customer's money for that long??

    • +4

They were pre-orders with no advertised arrival date. Customers accepted this in light of the never-before-seen supply situation with 3080s, and have been able to cancel at any time with no restocking fee. The cards arrived this morning so are being fulfilled now.

  • How come no intel i9 systems only i7 ?

    • Supply, mostly. We are looking into it.

  • +1

    Hi Luke,
Previously purchased a 5600x/3080 system. All good but just looking at your comment re cooling. I have the standard Wraith Stealth and notice that under load running triple 1440’s it starts to get a bit noisy.
Is this cooler recommendation something that would alleviate this? And is it something that has reared it’s head from feedback?
    Cheers,
    Phil

    • Good question

    • Hi Phil, a higher tier cooler will help, yes. The system with a Wraith Stealth will pass all testing measures that we can put it under, but there's no doubt temperature performance improves with a better cooler under heavy load. On balance, we feel that bundling a 120mm is the best approach moving forward.
