Ryzen / RTX 3080 Gaming PCs [R5-3600/X570 WiFi/16 3200/480/750G]: $2286 + Delivery (Ships Late February) @ TechFast

1480
RYZEN-3080-FEB

Hi all, everyone knows there are no unallocated 3080s in the country now and if you've been following our deals you may have seen me commenting that we've been working with suppliers and manufacturers on RTX 3080 stock. They have all confirmed that the GPUs offered in this deal will be coming into Aus from late February onwards, following the Chinese New Year holiday period, so that's when these systems are offered for: late February onwards, pending arrival of the GPUs. Buying now will reserve a) this price which may well have risen by late Feb and b) your earliest position in the queue when they arrive.

Ryzen 5/7/9 | RTX 3080 10GB Gaming PC: $2286 after RYZEN-3080-FEB

  • Base CPU: R5-3600 6c/12t (5600X, 5800X, 5900X upgrades available. The 5600X and 5800X are readily available but the 5900X is offered on pre-order only at this stage and wait times may extend beyond the arrival of the 3080s - they may arrive sooner, but with no firm word from AMD on 5900X stock right now we're letting you know there's a chance they'll arrive after the 3080s do. You can always check in with us later in February if you're interested and up/downgrade accordingly.)
  • Galax RTX 3080 10GB (guaranteed MSI card upgrade available for those who prefer MSI)
  • Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite WiFi motherboard (this motherboard supports 2 x NVME for those wondering)
  • 120mm liquid cooler - the 3080s make all CPUs work pretty hard so we're bundling a 120mm over the Wraith Stealth. For extended gaming or pushing into 4K/Ultra settings, or for Zen 3 chips, the 240mm upgrade is really a recommendation.
  • 16GB 3200MHz RAM (brand/model may vary)
  • 480GB 2.5" SSD
  • Gigabyte P750G 750W 80 Plus Gold PSU
  • MSI MAG Forge 100R or MAG Vampiric 100R Case

Existing 3080 Order Update
For those with existing Nov/Dec/early Jan 3080 pre-orders or Black Friday code orders from us, the 3080s for those systems have officially landed in Australia so we're nearly there! Many systems are already prebuilt just awaiting installation and testing and they will all be a priority once they get to us. More recent 3080 pre-orders (mid to late Jan) will be fulfilled as soon as possible, possibly with the stock from this new deal unless we can get more in earlier, which we are always working on.

Love the build but no idea why you guys never introduce ram with higher speeds like 3600 and just sticking with 3200

    • We really haven't had much call for it, plus because we buy multiple brands as part of our cost reduction model, not every motherboard and RAM we buy are truly compatible with one another, so offering higher tier RAM causes more issues than it's worth.

      • Thanks for the detailed reply mate

  • Hi Luke, just wondering if I remove the AIO would that reduce the price of the system, personally have a Noctua N15 I got from black Friday sales that should be enough to cool the system no?

    • The Noctua would be fine, but we can't remove the cooler to reduce the price sorry.

      • ok thanks, I might still go with the 240mm then, one more question, on the invoice does it say gaming PC?
I was wondering if I need to change it to business PC for taxation purposes?

        • +1

It does by default but we can edit it on request:)

  • Never played with watercooling - do they ever need 'servicing' or just leave em alone?

    • They're all in one, sealed units so require no maintenance.

  • Hey luke,

Just ordered the 3070 system would it possible to change it to the 3080 system. If so how do we go about it?

  • Is there something I'm missing? I've been comparing Intel vs AMD on the website userbenchmark and it seems that in real world benchmark tests, Intel is better value and has faster speeds. Everyone is talking about how much better AMD is these days, but is this just marketing? What am I missing?

    • Userbenchmark is often regarded as biased towards intel and only shows rrp cpu prices from the US.

So really you need to know exactly which intel beats which amd and then co.pare aus prices you can currently get. Amd has caught up for single thread which is par. Multi thread it still has intel demolished since ryzen started.

      • Thanks for the reply. Do you know where I can find the data that shows Ryzen demolishing intel, with actual user benchmarks rather than biased websites?

  • Hi Luke, any chance you could offer a Ryzen 5 3600/RTX3080 deal with MSI parts (specially with a MSI X570/B550 MotherBoard) so we can take advantage of their cashback offers?

Not possible due to supply sorry.

    • No enough time MSI promo is ending in the 1st week of Feb. 3080 starts shipping in late Feb.

Edit: Just saw Luke’s post. Not possible.

Did anyone manage to nab the 5800x when the upgrade was priced incorrectly? Or it won't be honoured??

  • Are you guys ever going to do a build with 5900X | RX 6900?

    • You mean like this one?

      • So sorry, i actually meant a rx 6800

        • +1

We haven't done that pairing but if supply improves in Feb/March we may look at an R9 system with all 3 RX cards.

          • @luketechfast: Sounds great, I mainly use linux and an amd gpu is so much better with support, even though the gtx cards may have better performance

Just fyi for anyone looking at delivery times,
I ordered a 5900x 3080 build with a few upgrades in November 2020, still has not arrived.

    • That system is for a preorder card whose delivery times were undefined. Thankfully supply is improving this year. And greatest news, your GPU arrived today, so it will be dispatched early next week!

      • Oh my goodness, that’s great news! Thanks Luke

        • It's been a hard slog for everyone waiting but thanks for your patience!

  • Hi Luke, do u guys offer change of mind policy before the built is shipped?

    • +1

For Pre-Order systems yes we allow cancellations due to the undefined lead time, but for a regular purchase for which incoming stock is allocated to your order, our cancellation policy is outlined on the website in the T&Cs. It has a few options.

      • Hi Luke. So shipment before end of Feb is guranteed?

        • Mate there are no guarantees when it comes to NVIDIA, not even from them themselves. We will be getting cards from the first manufacturer's batches to hit Australia after Chinese New Year, and shipping as soon as possible thereafter.

  • Which would be better all rounder for gaming, bit of photoshop, and office files etc work - this one with 5800…
    or
    their other option -> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/601071

    • What are your monitor specs going to be?

      • Currently just a pair of Dell U2412M's
        https://www.dell.com/is/business/p/dell-u2412m/pd

        • $1000 system would run that res & ref easily

          • @abuch47: it does at the moment but I've lost 2 sata ports (NFI - just stopped working) and few other issues.. its 5yrs old or so a moment so I dont buy regularly :) .. like to buy once and sit on it

Dont think many 1000 will play modern games or up coming games

            • @pharkurnell: Sure will if you game at 1080p high refresh rate but 1440p and up will need something more and 4k is still a bit of a meme that video cards being able to handle

  • So i'm interested in getting a new computer, but i'm pretty stupid when it comes to all of this. Three quick questions
I use a pair of beautiful ultrawide monitors on my current machine and things are chugging hard for most new games that come out (it's also 5 years old)
    1. Is it worth to upgrade to the 5600X?
    2. Is 16GB of ram fine?
    3. Is this a better deal than the Dell/Virtec similar deals?

    Cheers!

Bonus Question: Any real experiences with the two cases? Im not sure if one is just better than the other

start researching the components, onus is on you to spend wisely not be hand fed by a community.

      1. I would get the 5600x but price to performance the 3600 is kinda unbeatable, the 5600x is nearly 2x the price for just a slight performance increase but the higher the rez you go the bottleneck will still be gpu.
      2. 16gb is fine and you can always upgrade to 32 in the future.
      3. This is a 3080 and current prices for a 3080 are so high if they have them in stock people are paying through the teeth for them. If you want a 3080 this is basically your best bet. Dell has cooling issues i hear and the virco has a 3070 and no liquid cooler for about the same price but comes with an msi redemption thing but has better brand gpu and an nvme.
  • Hello Luke, are you able to only ship the components if the wait on building a computer is too long from what I read.

    • The lead time on these is not associated to the assembly, it's the supply chain nationwide (and internationally) on high end components. Unassembled orders in general skip build and testing so 1-2 days but are not prioritised ahead of assembled orders, and orders from any one day are picked together. To order, enter SHIP UNASSEMBLED at checkout.

  • Pulled the trigger on this deal after a very thorough research. Undoubtedly the best value for money build for 2k/4k gaming with good resale potential thanks to good selection of the components. Will be looking forward to get my hands on this beast :)

    Thanks Luke!

      Thanks for your purchase!

  • can somone help me out a bit.

Is there any news or if its already known something about next gen Ryzen processors if they'll be compatible with current motherboards?

Asking as it would in a way help me out which way to go, less money on a processor now and upgrade later or get a better one now instead.

Im leaning towards the 5600x but im also leaning on the Intel 10700 build, they both have its advantages. Im a bit leaning towards Ryzen if it will be compatible with new generation processors down the track.

Pc would be for multitasking and gaming, some premier pro also from time to time, 1440p screen will be used.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Luke, quick question,
what is the difference between normal order and unassembled order?
will I get all the original boxes?

    • not with a normal order, no

    • +1

With unassembled you will get the goods exactly as we receive them, either in retail packaging or OEM (the last Galax 3070s came in antistat sleeves for example so we will carefully package and ship that with no retail box though). We don't ship packaging with assembled orders but you will receive booklets, screws, cables etc not used in the build.

      • Thanks Luke! Hope to see another deal soon!! (sadly I didn't order this)

  • Anymore 3080 deals coming up?

    • Yep when we can confirm stock for March, nothing yet

      • fair call - all good :)

      • or if anyone cancels :)

  • Does anyone know if this will power and fit a 3090?

    • +1

yeh it will but to be safe you might want a 850watt psu

  • Has anyone got the PC yet?

    • +1

gpus wont be in Aus till late Feb at the earliest.

    • +2

The below is correct, late Feb earliest. No word yet.

      • +3

Hey Luke, just seeing if there is any updates on the GPU's arriving?

        • +1

Was just thinking the same thing as end of Feb is fast approaching. Hoping to get the PC soon.

  • +2

"ships late Feb" in the title is a little different to 'late Feb earliest' which is a shame.

  • Has anyone received their orders yet?

    • +5

on their latest deal they posted this "- Feb 3080 orders - waiting on dispatch notification on these - both information and stock is starting to flow on other models so 3080s should be in the same situation"

They still havent left the factory.

      • Cheers Xitau!

        • +3

If the cards still haven't left the factory, don't expect delivery until April.

  • +2

Hi Luke. March is now. Do you have any update?

    • +3

We haven't received any cards as yet. We've been speaking to manufacturers, distis and NVIDIA and get a consolidated update out to everyone this week.

  • +2

For those who have purchased, I've just emailed with an update. Please check your email (including spam) and let me know if you didn't receive it.

    • Cheers for the update! Any news regarding stock for 5900X?

      • We have some on hand and more allocated for this month confirmed from AMD and their distis, which will cover off the pre-orders we received.

  • +2

    Any updates??

  • +2

The latest update has been emailed out to all customers.
