    Could someone with the appropriate knowledge kindly tell me if the QC charger is suitable to use to power a Raspberry Pi 3, no charging involved at all.

    I have 2.5 amp power supplies but still get the lightning bolt and low voltage messages. I am pretty sure that 18W would solve that but too many unknowns for me to decide.

      18W would be 12V x 1.5A. Should do 3A at 5V though.

        Thanks for your comment, do I read it correctly that the charger will only supply greater than 5 volts if the receiving device has a QC chip in it? Or to put it the other way around, if the receiving device has no QC chip, this charger will only supply 5 volts at 3 amps?? I am worried this charger will fry my Pi! In the specs it says ''Output : DC 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A(QC 3.0)MAX "

        Thanks, I'm only slightly electrically competent.

          Correct. It won't supply more than 5V (USB specs allow for I think 5.25V) in the case of a Pi.
